  1. Parrot. I think the first Elezen's complexion is a bit more Wildwood-looking to me, although I'm sure there are definitely more peach-toned Duskies! I really like the ashen skin tone of the second Duskwight. I also vote lose the Au Ra!
  2. This topic has been discussed to death, and recently. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=14075
  3. Heyas, I'm looking for a linkshell (or perhaps more than one!) of generic bad guys that encompasses a lot of different themes. I scanned through the LS directory and saw linkshells for specific themes (syndicate, pirates, etc), but what I'm looking for is something a bit more generic, if it exists. I'm looking for a linkshell for my bad guy to make contacts and occasionally drag other bad guys with him on his dirty business (most of which will be to further the plot of my Free Company. Does such a linkshell exist?
  4. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. I will not pester. I will not pester. I will not pester. I will not pester.... I'M DYING!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
  5. Lofey buns! You will work until all the debt is paid!!
  6. How would this have been advertised ICly?
  7. Is there any information on Sharlayan, the "Old World"? The wiki says it's on a continent to the north, but I don't see it at all. What do we know about its location?
  8. It's very unfortunate that you experienced something like this, and I can only imagine how awful that must feel. However, I just don't think it's fair for you to expect people to change their standards and give you a chance if they're honestly and truly just not interested. Respect needs to be on both sides. I myself might have made some judgement if the first thing I learned about you was that your character was a dimension-hopper of some sort, as I honestly can't deal with that type of roleplay in the view of the world that I believe in. And that's okay. Not everyone needs to roleplay with everyone else. Maybe I would have missed out on a great character and a great player. Maybe we really would have just had too different views to get along. Now please don't misrepresent what I'm saying here. I absolutely do not think it's okay for someone to harass or belittle someone due to their roleplay choices. I simply believe that people are allowed to make their choices, form their opinions, and deserve respect for them, even if they aren't the same as yours.
  9. I have to respectfully disagree with the OP. As a few others have touched on, I have standards that have to be met in order for me to fully enjoy roleplaying with another. If someone has very poor sentence structure to the point that their sentences are ambiguous, then that is absolutely an issue for me. If their grammar is poor to the extent that I'm re-re-reading their posts to comprehend, that's also an issue. If they're misspelling frequently, it's a distraction, and once again, that's an issue. For me to enjoy my RP, I have to understand what the other person is trying to convey, and it has to be clean and legible. If someone is roleplaying something that clashes with my personal views of the world, then the simple act of accepting their character could completely shift my roleplay. I'm not willing to do that. If I'm typing several full sentences, and receiving a few words in return, I feel disappointed because (typically, there are exceptions!) the onus is being placed on me to continue the scene. I absolutely despise situations where the other is merely responding to what I'm doing, and I'm providing all the content. I want my roleplay to be a collaboration event. These are my choices, and I don't expect everyone to make the same ones. What I will agree with is that we should all attempt to respect what others choose. If someone chooses to roleplay something that I personally don't believe should be roleplayed, then that's their choice! I'm not going to speak down to them as though they've made a wrong choice, but I do have a right to decline to roleplay with them. But I also don't expect them to try and force me to accept their views. I think there needs to be respect on both sides.
  10. Hey there! I noticed Nanagi's post here that was so similar to yours, and I was actually kind of waiting to see her partner in crime, since you two are obviously a package deal! Now that you've both posted, I'm definitely interested in you guys. I'm the leader of a Free Company called Eternus, and we're primarily a mercenary group. Our focus is on our community above everything else, and you two seem very personable and friendly. I'd be very interested in talking to one or both of you in-game, and talking over some IC details. PM Temariah Dawnsong or Eloweth Ayers!
  11. Hey there! I'm not sure if you're looking for a FC or not, but regardless, Eternus could absolutely use a few darker characters on our roster. We're a morally grey mercenary group, so the types of jobs and roleplay we do tends to be a bit dark on a deeper level! My character names are Temariah Dawnsong and Eloweth Ayers! PM me if you think you might be interested in joining us or just associating. I'll keep an eye out for you in-game as well.
  12. Oooooooooo!! I'll try to be there, and might even encourage some of the dastardly devils in my FC to come along as well. <3
  13. I play a mute who is actually pretty guarded. She tends to not be very expressive, and the interaction is amazing! It's very challenging, but it feels really rewarding when things go well. I have a few signature emotes that I love using, and people that I RP with frequently understand the deeper meaning in those emotes. I also have her in possession of a charcoal pencil that can write on nearly any surface (yay charcoal!) but the little joke is that she always forgets to bring something to write on. It's become this hilarious gag, because she'll write on the ground, walls, bodies, whatever she can get her hands on! I guess what I'm trying to say is to create your own style. Maybe your character is really expressive, which seems to be the trend, and that's totally cool! But maybe your character's behavior is less dramatic, which makes for a much more difficult challenge. As others have mentioned, create a character, then figure out how that character will handle being mute.
  14. Hey! As the title says, I'm looking for a bar to offer their property to host a one-time event on either Friday the 30th or Saturday the 31st (whichever works for the bar). ICly, the bar needs to be relatively small, and I'm looking for no more than two servers to assist with the event. 1,000 Gil will be paid ICly for the use of the establishment for the night. Please either respond to this thread or contact me in game on Temariah Dawnsong or Eloweth Ayers. Thanks!!
  15. Next Friday we'll be having an open-ish event in the evening. I'll try to find you in-game so we can figure something out.
