The majority of WoW nobility I ever saw were humans or Blood Elves. Blood Elves sort of kind of make sense of you take in the Convocation of Silvermoon-- as at least five of the houses were unnamed so far as I've ever found. One large effort on Ravenholdt was to re-establish seven houses (not including Sunstrider or Drathir) in place of the seven that had fallen in RP. It was done entirely through roleplay and for a while it worked out really nicely, consolidating smaller houses into larger one and generally using political marriage and manipulation to get things combed out. Humans... I dunno about humans. I know there are lords and there were kings of different areas. I'm not too well informed about the various stories and origins so anyone who told me they were a lord of some odd place or another I would generally have to accept on my Night Elf who gave about two poops for human bloodlines and nobility. Siobhain would probably respond much the same way-- if someone looks like a noble, and they act like a noble, and they have enough people to back them up, why wouldn't she assume they -were- in character unless she had strong reason to doubt them such as having lived in and being well acquainted in the particular area they should have been well known in? Even then she likely wouldn't doubt it. It's mostly about appearances. 1. the quality of being noble in character, mind, birth, or rank. 2. the group of people belonging to the noble class in a country, esp. those with a hereditary or honorary title. Honorary title is up there with hereditary. Honestly, if you have enough money and you have enough sway over the locals, even if you're NOT acknowledged by the primary ruling body of an area, you might as well be a noble.

I used to love these movies so much as a kid but I never realized how singularly awful that line was. Withering on the inside.

Lol! Wait-- I just realized something. *goes to remedy*

I dunno how he manages but Folken takes some amazing screens. I endeavor to learn to emote better. =3= *loves*

This is likely. We have something of a shortage of those but I look forward to meeting some. Everyone who is already part of the Grindstone and has posted here as willing to mentor should PM me either here or in game if you are not already an Overseer to be promoted to one.

We have a lot of desire for Pugilist trainers. I'm going to have to make sure to find more definite individuals willing to teach ICly.

10 PM EST on 10.29.13 We will be holding a meeting for potential and existing Overseers of the Grindstone. If you are interested in becoming an Overseer, we have three basic jobs: 1. Ref'ing matches between our members. We need at least three of these on a regular basis. As our tournaments will likely be cut down to only Saturdays each week, I'd like to rotate our Overseers so that they can also participate if they desire to. 2. Healing leaders + Trainers for the Grindstone. As of now either Lottie or Norlaise or Skaenmoen or some combination of those individuals will fill the healing leader positions. This means they're in charge of making sure all healers are capable and organized during and between the events. Trainers should have plenty of time available and I'd like to make sure they specialize in one or two physical arts. 3. Recruiters. Pretty self-explanatory but it's a necessary and much appreciated job during the event as well as between events. I'd like to be able to list the individuals who fill each position. If for some reason an Overseer just cannot attend, has not attended, or is otherwise unable ICly or OOCly to fulfill their duties, I will be forced to remove their privileges until such a time that these things can be corrected. ICly there will be a notation posted on the flyers with the above date and 'Looking for healers, trainers, recruiters, and Overseers for the Grindstone'. Short and sweet. -

Can't do anything about my times. I can only get on for an extended period of time after 10 PM and I'd honestly rather run the events as often as humanly possible. -

I think one day a week would be easier on me as well. I suppose it comes down to which day people would prefer, Wednesday or Saturday? Thank you guys for the feedback, I think the other day a week will be dedicated to 'training' new people in how to do combat RP so that they're a bit more comfortable by the time the tournament comes around. I've had it suggested and was considering it but running events three days a week just seemed like too much to handle. I've also had it suggested that people should participate in at least one 'practice' session before putting them into the tournament to prevent situations that might require retcons. Since we have plenty of people now, I don't think it's a bad idea. -

I had no idea! It was suggested by an anonymous source that maybe people were getting worn out on the idea which is sad but inevitable someday. At least there was another facto. Ty Lament -
Twelves woman, cover up! Your calves are showing! But now I am really wondering how many people think to what degree does it become 'ERP'. I mean, anything after first base is kinda 'erotic' right? I mean by the time I'm rounding second base, I'm already in a private area--or the club >.> Lmao. Some people have different ideas of what is erotic. Public mouth kissing with enough detail can make people uncomfortable and sometimes that is enough for them to consider it erp. I hate typing on an iPad. /rolls up her jean legs to the knees. Aw yeah, now Sio is risque.
-
Honestly it is also a bit hard for many people to agree on what constitutes ERP. I was once rping with a friend and the topic of the conversation was sex. Got a pm from a friendly non rper who was worried that we might not know others could see our conversation. He didn't mind personally but clearly it was a more intimate topic for him oocly than for us.

I hate to keep reposting on this thread but one must do what one must do. Unexpectedly I was unable to attend the tournament last night and it was brought to my attention that there were no where NEAR enough participants (literally four total) to hold the tournament. I am entirely uncertain as to why this would be and I had been under the impression that during my short break things had been going well. Regardless, if there is something the matter that you are aware of please PM it to me. Otherwise, I'll be back from this point forward, breathing down necks and the like. Got to get back on that RP train, I suppose.1 -
Oh I see what you did there. Offering cookies and SEXUAL INNUENDOS in our pristine LS chat. =3= *Our LS chat is tainted with debauchery* *eats cookie*

You do some pretty amazing borders. How much gil would you take for a sig when you do get into the game? If... If you do... when you do? ... If? wow... that is a pretty awesome edit. I'll second the request for a sig if your services are up for sale =D (Although Sio doesn't need one. /sagenod. This forum has enough screenshots of her toon being gorgeous =P) j/k D: NEVER ENOUGH SCREENSHOTS OF MY TOON BEING GORGEOUS! NEVAAAAR! Thank you Psyloken. <3

I saw it in Tumblr and recognized your character! I was wondering if it truly was your character or one who looked alike. Even if I've never RPed with you, just seeing screens of your character in the forum has made her very recognizable, which is a good thing ^^ That's actually amazing to me. Q.Q Makes me so happy to think I actually made someone that stands out. Most of my toons look really generic. *flops over and wallows in happy*

I thought this screen that Folken took was cute... Sio's token swimsuit are the hempen undies. Because hempen undies look like they're made of leather.

That is correct! I advise that anyone who has time before a tournament, if you want to participate in the tournament to please try to get in touch with a Grindstone member and see if you can't get an IC sparring match. Just to test out the system and see how you like it before the pressure of doing it in front of spectators! -

The more the merrier! Just remember that it's first come first serve up to sixteen and other various details are on the OP. Look forward to seeing you there and I should be there this Saturday. UPDATE: Due to our large number of members and our desire to incorporate as many others as are willing to attend, a new LS has been established for ONLY fighters and healers. The name of this LS is 'Grindstone Coalition' and I hope all our tournament fighters and healers will please help to clear space in The Grindstone LS for spectators by joining the new LS and eventually leaving the original.
