There's nine thousand?!

Today 10/23/13 there should be another tournament at 10 pm EST! I hear that my lovelies did great without me so I hope they can manage another one! <3 I love the Grindstone.

I also love the one with Sio/Fen! Awww... She looks so disappointed. That needs to be one of her token facial expressions. /fendisappointment

Lmao. I honestly feel that way about a few people as well. Although honestly, I don't feel the need to share it with anyone else-- chances are others will appreciate personality traits that turn me off? Then again, the person I most admire currently is someone who used to rub me the wrong way on these forums so despite my reservations, I'm always open to changing my opinion. Nevertheless... Though you took it well, I still don't think it's behavior that should be encouraged.

Val Nunh still mocks me about an accidental MT I made into LS chat in the Grindstone. I MT all the time. Whenever I do it, I blame Khyros for my curse-- but in essence, I spread my curse to all our other people and we end up posting RP into the LS. =3= My particularly awkward one wasn't -that- awkward (was not ERP), but it was super sappy sweet and intimate with face-holding and such that I'd never want anyone to know my crazy-butch Roegadame was capable of with her partner. Because of the chat system, I try to stay in ls chat and just /s or /em my emotes. But because of the chat minimum I'll lose posts. So the other person's like "Oh, I think I missed one here" and I go about trying to repost them so fast--.... yeah. So embarrassed I couldn't even scroll back up to see which part I MT'd. Val made it worse. A hundred times worse.

You know I wonder...do you think it'd be possible to hire some of your members as Garden Instructors? I think it's entirely possible. Actually, I've been thinking about something similar which I'll send a PM about directly.

Hello Siobhain! It is a pleasure to meet you! At this time due to the majority of Role Players aligning with Limsa Lominsa, it is assumed that the Tavern is present either in or around the La Noscea area. We are still working on some of these details, which is why we will be holding our first formal meeting this Saturday, October 26, to establish some of the details that are currently missing or obscure. As for Jojo, he is currently stationed as a member of the Maelstrom's Foreign Levy at the port in Vesper Bay. He has been self teaching himself pugilism, but he may be looking for a mentor to help him unleash his potential in the martial art. I understand your character might be the one to get him to the right place. =D Thank you for your interest! I hope to meet you soon and to be able to provide you with more details regarding our peaceful little linkshell. Actually Limsa Lominsa is great! Siobhain is taking a short break from the Grindstone in order to regain some of her health so she and her partner are 'vacationing' in La Noscea (traveling is a bit difficult for her right now due to the state of her health so rather than just appearing here or there it takes a day or so to go as far as La Noscea in game). Maybe I can extend that vacation to after the 26th for the greater good of establishing some solid, friendly relations. Though the GS is in Ul'dah I have been considering moving the tournaments around from time to time, as I've said, so maybe there is something we can do with your Tavern. Vesper Bay is also a good area as I may start going there more often ICly. We definitely have enough pugilists to get you on the right track and Siobhain is well acquainted with the one that has offered to teach others thus far. She'd surely be able to help out in that regard. I'll be happy to arrange a meeting with you sometime! I know I have a lot to do tonight but I think tomorrow I'll have more free time. Welcome! Congratulations on being able to have a chance to admin what sounds like a really nice Linkshell! I read over the directory page-- but I'm afraid I may have missed it... Which city is the Sun Down Tavern meant to be outside of? Because if it just so happens to be in Ul'dah, I'd be happy to have some Grindstone members go in and start a few bar brawls. I go to the Coffin and Coffer sometimes but have yet to decide on a place to frequent with Siobhain. I fear it might not be in Thanalan though-- which is kind of our base of operations, but maybe we could do something about getting out to another area once in a while. We aim to do it with our tournaments eventually.

I know I'm debating to IC give Brave a reason to learn about a sword and board. Maybe I can see its effectiveness in a "Gladiator" match Sio has room for mooooar apprentices. O_O Or at least sparring mates. She does love to fight male Roegadyn. Easy wins. Though I suppose realistically that'd have to wait until she's less sickly. Is he a sword+boarder or does he specialize in something else currently? Right now he's a Warrior. Ideally the character would use a Greatsword or his fists for now I have to settle with a Greataxe lol. The idea was to have him leave his village and try to be a force for good. A promise he made to his now decease wife. I kmow its pretty gary stu but I've also really over simplified it >< I was on page 22 (question 53 I think) of my 100 questions when my compy died so I've pretty much been forum lurking and chatting with my guildies who are probably getting close to their first 50's by now /sigh I miss FFXIV Keeping it simple is key when you're aiming to develop! So, recently we may have had some interest in one of the secondary purposes of the Grindstone (aside from the fighting and the tournament-ing) which is our mentorship 'program' of sorts. We have a lot of members and while I'm familiar with a fair chunk of our fighters, I'm uncertain who might have the time and interest ICly and OOCly to actually apprentice or tutor another PC in game in whatever art they specialize in. So if you are in the Grindstone and you have a character with one or two mastered arts they'd like to pass on, or you have a character who might like to teach through the Grindstone OR you have a character seeking a teacher in a physical art for character development, please post: The character's name The field of interest (Lancer/Pugilist/Sword+Shield, etc.) Whether or not they're looking for an apprentice OR What level of skill they would like to attain. (Novice, intermediate, advanced.) I hope we can keep it to one teacher at a time but really, this is just to help me organize whom I might approach ICly to do work for whom. While our Free Company should list this amongst their jobs if they are capable, this is also for our Linkshell members as it is a coalition and building stronger bonds is what we love to do. <3

whereas I've been an active part of several knightly orders that have attracted a lot of less-than well intentioned types. It's so weird that we've had completely opposite experiences =P your original post honestly surprised me greatly. I have constantly been asking myself 'where are the good guys' and it seems you get nothing but . I wish people would pay better attention to the groups they sign up for, so that you could get the type of people you are actually trying to recruit! I hope you start having better luck! Clearly...
