I was fancying the idea of black hair because so many people I've met ICly have white (nothing against white hair, I love it too... obviously.) but I was told it would ruin the erm... 'white knight'-esque look of Sio to go back. Admittedly, she definitely turns out looking a lot like her mercenary-style brother.

Of course, we're speaking from my perspective. I who have one of the biggest butch looking Roes... And who enjoys the look of a Highlander with a split tongue and filed teeth and perpetual circles around his eyes. Personally? I think Elezen's tiny head and sloping shoulders are really hard to make look good. Worse are the faces that the males got saddled with. I don't remember them looking so gaunt and skeletal in 1.0 and pale skin tones (which I see a lot of) don't help much. Ronberku succeeds. Thus far I think his male and Sila Neve's female are two of the prettiest I've seen by my definition of 'pretty'. But I digress. This thread is about Roegadyn girls. Dem Roegadyn girls.

Sio is firmly Neutral Good. She's about as good guy as one can be while being harsh and definitive about extraneous things such as relationships and physical training. But ultimately, she's a white knight. Is she fun? Abso-freaking-lutely. Wouldn't swap her out for anything. I think 'good' and 'charming' don't need to go hand in hand and that's the part about playing this good character that I enjoy most.

I would have gone with highlander if all their faces didn't look like rugged 40 year old men(manner of speaking and my own personal view). And male Roegadyns have some faces and hairstyle that I like but I don't like their body proportions. My ideal race that I would play hands down is the "Gon" race from the game Blade & Soul. And ironically it's the only mmorpg that hasn't been released to the western market. orz Oh well, I'm quite satisfied with my elezen. Although I'm still annoyed by the lack of muscle slider for male elezen. I bet it -is- annoying (the muscles thing). Ronberku is the single most attractive male Elezen ever. Purriod. 'This is mah Ron. Dere is many like him but dis one is mine.' <3 On ANOTHER note... Folken? Y-yeah... Kinda the best looking Highlander ever. I have to say male Roes look a bit ridiculous to me because their heads are so small and their shoulders as so huge. With NO other races except MAYBE the Highlanders do the size of males so greatly out-mass the size of their females in this game. It's nuts. Really nuts. On a similar note, I thought Elezen looked ridiculous until I saw ones like Ronberku. I became a convert.

Time to get that Roegadyn female love back in line...

I don't think 'sex' sells in terms of the outrageous number of female Miqo'tes at least. They... aren't... that... sexy. What they are is cute. Loli maybe. Cute and loli but not sexy unless you find those qualities sexy. Throwing cat ears and a tail on it doesn't sexualize it any more than handing me a kitten nestled in a pile of Victoria's Secret panties and telling me 'Get aroused'. Male Miqo'te? At least half of them are a different matter entirely. Girls like cute things. Guy like cute things. Guys also like to trick other guys with cute things. Result? 99% Miqo'te. Nega-butt. I guess when I look at the chest between the arm and armpit + collarbone I think she looks like a man wearing his sister's bra. With the help of Qaeli we've identified that increasing muscle tone makes some things a bit more stark than they'd otherwise be. Like that collarbone of doom. Also I'm sure that it helps that many Roegadames have nice long hair and such to balance things out. I love Sio, don't get me wrong, but there's just a few things that kill me about her like her lack of trunk space. Otherwise, I guess it would be easier for me to draw her! I have issues drawing voluptuous hips. <3

This. I like Roe, but the reasons they're rarely played, especially among RPers, are rather obvious. I wish I could make a lady Roe. There are so many gorgeous ones I've seen! However, it's an archetype I wouldn't be comfortable RPing, so I haven't made one. (Actually, I did have one in beta--I just didn't keep her around). It's funny, I see a lot of people criticising female roegadyn for being rather curvy and thickly built and yet...a very large portion of the other race's females are being drawn and described in the exact same way. Though given how oversexualised most characters tend to be, I'm not surprised. I criticize female Roegadyn for having no butts. At. All. None. Take all your Roegadame's clothes off and turn her sideways. See what I mean?
