  1. Team Behemoth Hearts would love to join the hunt! Soren Iyasu - Hayato Yuzuka - Gracie Singer
  2. This was so much fun last time that I'd love to sign up again. Is there room for another team? I'd like to sign up my alt's team, Gracie. Team GRR!
  3. Oh NO. How awful RIP Sian and offspring.
  4. Okay, I laughed. Retainers get such a bad rap...I would love see people rping them more often. It's cute to see them out in the wild on those rare occasions. Anyway, very interested in rping with you sometime and I wanted to say welcome to Balmung. My Keeper girl, Mayu, could always use some more Seeker friends. She's down to one Seeker friend ;__; Feel free to add me in game and we can work something out.
  5. She hangs out in Ul'dah quite a bit, actually. Ah, good good, I'll bother you sometime then! Thanks for clearing that up. I look forward to it. Please feel free to add me to your friends list so we can arrange something! Mayu likes to wander around Ul'dah quite often - she thinks it's pretty :3

  7. Hi everyone! So, I've been around for a while. Here, (as a lurker) and in game. Lots of RP has been had, I have a good pool of friends, but something happened. A lot of my friends list became disinterested in the game, and my unofficial FC pretty much went completely dark. 90% of my RP went poof literally overnight. I joined up with a non-RP FC for a bit of a break and it's been okay for the past 2 months but I really miss structured RP with an FC or a linkshell. I have a lot of free room for some RP linkshells, and I would love to join a couple to get a good feel of the RP climate right now. It's been a while since I've been really, really in it. Mayu is an IC Astrologian and hunter/gatherer type who spends much of her time in the Shroud or wandering around. Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te. Friendly yet becoming more and more reserved as she ages. If anyone has a spot for her in their RP or in their LS, I would be much obliged. Please hit me up in game or on here and we can set something up! Thank you!
  8. Okay team Mayu is a go! We've got Argent, Mayu, Azaili and Skar ready to go!
  9. I also hear a lot about the pleasure barges - *shudder* - like in the AST storyline. They are mentioned in passing a lot. About kidnapping women and selling them to the pleasure barges. Yuck, yuck, yuck.
  10. This is cool. You are cool. I love the drawing and your description so definitely add me to your friends list and we'll talk!
  11. To argue the point, or not argue the point? In her mind's eye she didn't like what Mordagen had done, despite his reasoning for doing so. She felt like a failure compared to him. Only half a dragoon - nay, a fraction - and this was a feeling that soured her entire mood. The adrenaline from felling the dragon was beginning to wear off, and in its place, melancholy. Evey, however, had a natural ability to life ones spirits. The girl was beautiful, no doubt, but Mayu could also see that she was beautiful on the inside as well. She forced herself to smile at the young Hyur. It conjured memories of a time when she was mistaken for a dragoon pole dancer. "You know, there's this funny story I'd like to tell you on the way to the keep." She walked over to Lulubelle, who wasn't making eye contact - silly bird - and climbed atop. She took the reins into her hands and gave her chocobo a light pat to urge her forward. "A miqo'te couple approached me and asked me to dance for them. A lewd dance, mind you."
  12. When Mordagen picked up his lance, Mayu threw hers down into the snow. She balled her hands into fists and let out an angry roar deep within her throat. "Are you serious right now?! You were grandstanding and I was over here worried you died and worried about Evey and trying to kill an anemic dragon. And here you just dive on down all 'la la la.'" Lulubelle looked sheepishly over at her owner and shuffled closer to Evey. Obviously the chocobo had some shame. "And you also owe Kraw an apology. I think he was worried about you. Jerk."
  13. Fun fact! When I was living in Canada I was encouraged to just start working in a spa up there, and not to worry about schooling...ummm...? Apparently the area I was in (in Ontario) they weren't necessarily licensed and if they were you wouldn't know it. Also, estheticians do nails in Canada as well whereas down here you'd need your cosmo license. It varies SO MUCH just from state to state. It's kinda infuriating that way.
  14. Yay! So I'm assuming you do hair, then? I sometimes wish I had gone to school for hair just for my own benefit because I can't even braid it.
  15. Mayu sighed with relief and looked at the woman. "Oh no. That was definitely a fluke. I think I just hit it in the right spot." She bent down to observe the body. It was smallish and even a little malnourished. "He's dinky. If he were healthier I'm not sure I'd be able to do that. I've killed a bunch before out here but not with so much speed." Satisfied they were safe at the moment, Mayu strode to Every. "Those spells were great, Evey. Thank you. And...yeah, Mord isn't back yet?"
  16. Mayu was suddenly enveloped in a protection spell, to her surprise. The dragon took another lunge at the dragoon but it stopped short due to the spell. It shook its head, a little confused and dazed. She looked back at Evey, gave her a swift thumbs up and then turned back to the monstrosity. Really, it wasn't that big. It shouldn't have been such a problem. But she was worried for her friend and even more concerned that Evey would end up as collateral damage before all of this was over. In short, she was distracted and she knew that when she was distracted nothing seemed to go her way. She inhaled sharply and tried to recall her lessons from before, and then took a grand leap up...up...up... Until she was no longer visible. Within a few short seconds, she was falling head first toward the dragon's head and pierced the back of its neck with her lance. The dragon staggered left and right wildly before collapsing into death. Mayu landed safely beside it, surprisingly unscathed.
  17. The only stupid questions are the ones not asked! The laser thing...I'm pretty sure you need to be a dermatologist to do tattoo removal. I could be wrong about those qualifications, since I'm not a medical aesthetician myself. When I refer to lasers, I mostly mean like hair removal. If you go onto groupon you can see a bunch of places listed for hair removal. The money is good there, but the people I've met who do it are super bored because they just push a button all day and miss the client interaction. Dermabrasion, in this case would be like tiny crystals. As long as the esthetician knows what they're doing it's really safe and I've seen the most -awesome- results from it. I did it on my sister once and her skin was totally different. On other people, nothing happens. It's a more aggressive form of exfoliation (like if you use a scrub on your face at the sink, you're getting rid of the dead skin) that can really make a huge difference on hyperpigmentation or acne scars. Those things are a pain. It doesn't hurt. My clients reactions sometimes vary. One of them said it tickled. Another said it felt like a cat licking her.
  18. Cracking up. We don't really do anything extreme. Some of them microdermabrasion and dermaplaning but even that's nothing too intense. If you go to a medical spa, they can do botox and whatnot, and laser removal treatments!
  19. Which part, Aaron? Some of the stuff I do hurts a LITTLE :3 It's funny, I went all through school and all through my professional life until recently LOATHING leg waxes. I would bleed. I would cry. And then when I went for a speed waxing class at the Dermal Institute, our instructor practiced a bit on me and it didn't hurt. It was mildly uncomfortable but I think I'd actually pay her to do it. If it hurts so much you're crying, get another esthetician. Also, extractions (where you remove black heads and other fun stuff) can be uncomfortable but it should never be painful.
  20. HAHA, another funny thing is that he would TECHNICALLY be a cosmotologist, since he also does hair. I do not do hair, not licensed for it either. I worked with a woman who had her cosmo license (which allows you to do almost everything in a salon) and she was super good at hair but chose to make her living with skin treatments instead.
  21. So I'm super late to the party and just unlocked the aesthetician the other night. Hilaaarious and I loved the thread, although I was giggling at the choice of which form of aesthetician to use. In the business, it's USUALLY reserved for medical aestheticians (not always, though). I thought I'd make a thread about the actual esthetician profession and answer any questions you may have. First off... What is an esthetician? We primarily deal in skin but we're not dermatologists. We perform facials (everyone laughs at this), bacials (back facials), sometimes body scrubs and lots and lots (and lots) of waxing. Also sometimes we do makeup, but not always. I'm one of those people who loves to do makeup, being a more creative sort of person. You can find us in salons, spas, medical offices, chiro offices (kinda rare), malls at sketchy kiosks, corporate offices, schools and other spots. I've only ever worked in retail shops in managements and in spas. I much prefer spas, but now I'm working for myself and that's even better. At the spa I suffered a LOT of discontent with my line of work and had to move on because the prices kept getting lower, as did my pay, though we were being whipped regularly to up the quality. It was a bad situation for the professionals, though the clientele made out pretty well on that end. What I loved the MOST about my job in the spa was working one-on-one with clients and I was guaranteed at least an hour of silence. Sometimes the clients would talk, which is cool because I'm a pretty friendly person. But usually they would just lay there and I'd work my magic. So, go ahead and ask me questions about the following. Just keep in mind that I CANNOT and will not dispense ANY medical advice. If something weird would pop up on my table, I'd usually just reply with "better go to the dermatologist for that." Ask me whatever about: -Products -Regimens -the professions itself -Fun stories -Recommendations I really, really miss the educational aspect of the job. Most clients would just want to come in, lay down and then leave. I went to school for this in '06 so I believe I know a thing or two! So pick my brain.
  22. Not RP related, but would like to apologize to the raid I was in today around 4:30 pm EST for completely mucking it up and wiping everyone. My problem is that my mother called during the raid, and like an idiot I answered it. However, she is older and we have a lot of elderly folks in our family and she doesn't normally call during this hour so I thought I'd better check to see what she wanted. When I exchanged pleasantries with her for a good 20 minutes I realized I was in over my head, my attention was being too divided and I explained to her I had to go. Of course, she didn't let me go. She had to ask me 90 thousand questions despite telling her over and over again I had to go...oh, older mothers. ANYWAY, so sorry to my raid. I'm sure you replaced me swiftly though as thank GOODNESS I'm only DPS. I'm not normally an idiot but today I was.
  23. The dragon before her lunged, aiming to strike at her chest. Luckily she was ready for it, and parried it quickly, albeit clumsily, with her lance. She heard Kraw call out, and was surprised to see the massive bird alone. Lulubelle stood by nervously near Evey, awaiting further instruction. Mayu waved at the birds quickly and pointed at the dragon. Lulubelle stood firmly in her spot nervously, unwilling to engage in battle. The dragoon took another lunge at the dragon, aiming to knock it off balance and distract it. Unfortunately the beast was ready for her, and spun to thwart the lance with its tail. Mayu grunted irritably, knowing that she had foolishly underestimated her quarry and worrying about her missing friend in the back of her mind.
  24. MSQ, MSQ, MSQ. Literally nothing else because our FC isn't starting its roleplay until near-ish the release day. This gives me plenty of time to catch up, story-wise. I just finished vanilla, now I'm moving through the first patch. I really, really hope I manage to finish before the expansion but who knows at this point. I'm nervous. With that said, if anyone wants to come along for clears and dungeons lemme know, I'm always down for awesome company.
