I consider RP successful if it makes me cry. I've been in floods of tears before during RP.
If it makes you feel that much, then it must've been good, right?
I've found that Dolby Headphone and half-decent standard headphones gives a great surround sound experience. Especially seeing as I don't have any room for speakers in here!
EDIT: It removed my quote! It's in response to SicketySix's post above
Well, I used to play more things using it than I do now. I brought it out of retirement to play Elite: Dangerous. It's an old Microsoft Sidewinder force-feedback one, but the force-feedback is obsolete now which is a shame, as it was great.
I have a character, Jennifer Armstrong, that lived in Ala Mhigo when it was invaded. Her story isn't that well developed yet, but I'm working on it through RP and research. I don't think I've done anything stupid yet!
I wanted to tag this and just indicate my interest!
Some of the funniest RP I've ever had has been with Cass! Admittedly we've only RPed a few times, but her RP seems to flow so naturally, and I get the feeling that the character is more complex than I've realised. Thank you!
EDIT: Oops, I realise that not many people know me, so I may just break the thread.
Ami has a rather underdeveloped sense of humour, often missing the joke, especially if it has any lewd overtones, and when she does eventually get it (with prompting, usually), then embarrassment sets in.
Ami is most comfortable in loose clothes (For the Thanalan heat) that leave little skin exposed (she burns easily, and because she's uncomfortable showing too much skin), and with her favourite colour, midnight blue, wherever possible.
We're both extremely shy people, so we'd just smile awkwardly and not dare start a conversation.
Yes, there's too much of me in my character than is perhaps healthy!
Actually, what I tend to do when I start an MMO is create one of every race, come up with a vague background and then play them, and see if the character resonates with me.
Ami did, so I stuck with her! I do also like tall characters.
I had that too, but my alternate use of the wiki is to kinda remind myself of Vachir's past and traits etc. Like, if I can't remember his twin sister's name, I can just look it up on his wiki.
I never thought of that! I keep notes using notepad, which isn't ideal!
I keep meaning to create a page, but whenever I try, I always have a bit of a crisis of confidence and wonder who on earth would want to read it. I'll have to force myself this weekend, I think.
