Milloux

Updating this, since it's been over a year! Would love to make some new contacts! <3

Hi! My duskwight, Milloux, actually grew up in and around Limsa under very similiar circumstances, and spent much of her life doing some... well, questionable things, for questionable people. (And amusingly, she was on a very similiar path learning magic, though that's been halted.) She's since renounced such things under murky circumstances following the calamity, instead self-styling herself as a "Good Samaritan" of sorts these days. She's willing to do bad things for the sake of keeping good people safe - especially those that don't seem to have a voice of their own. Her friends are mostly hard-luck cases and strays, courtesans and 'outcasts' of all sorts. She's the silent owner of a clinic in Ul'dah, the deeds and holdings passing to her after her husband disappeared, recently. Still grief stricken, she leaves the day-to-day operations to others. (The clinic is in the Goblet - Ward 11 , plot 56 - SW subdivision, should you ever like to peek in!) So, it's possible they may know one another! She remembers very little of her early childhood in the Shroud aside from lingering and half-obfuscated recollections. Hm. Milloux tends to be a little rowdy and rough-spoken under normal circumstances, but she means well! My in-game name is Milloux Allard, should you (or anyone else here!) ever like to RP! I'd really love to expand my circle and meet new folks!

I'm super excited about this - part of my taking a break from the game for a few months was feeling a little disheartened after seeing those plots get freed up, only to get taken up immediately by house flippers. I really do wish they'd put a cap on one personal house per account (give it account-wide access, maybe) to alleviate some of that. Or something. I'm not sure what a good solution would actually be. I just want a cozy little place for my FC to run it's clinic out of!

Who might one contact to get in on said LS? Oooh, I'd like to join! I have a trio of elezen characters; a stuffy wildwood (as pictured in my icon) and a pair of snarky duskwight siblings, one male and one female. My RP partner also plays a male duskwight~ It was definitely a little bit of a challenge to make a male elezen that looked really good to my own taste, so maybe that's part of it. But when someone gets them right, they really do look fantastic.

Like some folks have already said, I think it's just an easy shorthand (considering the very limited space we have in our notes. ) way to denote someone is receptive to meeting new folks to RP with? At least, that's always been my own interpretation, across MMOs. As for actually strolling up to strangers? It's definitely on a per-character basis for me. My introverted arcanist isn't likely to approach someone on the street without prompting or cause. (and in her case, likely needs to be approached - but I certainly want people to know that I want to RP, even if the character is reluctant.) My loud-mouthed and gregarious little courier or my super curious and nosy (former) pirate? They have no qualms doing just that! That said, I will generally toss a /tell to someone first to see if they'd mind if I strolled up. (and I've noticed the same. This really is a polite community!) I don't like intruding on folks that might be busy or otherwise occupied if I see no outward indicators that they're IC. Actually, that's something that helps clue me in a good deal, in the absense of RP / IC flags. Seeing a few idle emotes - someone flipping through a book, or scanning a crowd, grumbling at a merchant, or maybe even looking for something, is going to pique my interest and make me far more likely to wander on up. Even if you're super anxious about specifically approaching others (like me!) making it even a little easier for others to approach you can go a long way!
