Hey Sharkette, I've compiled known Race Lore and there are some links and quotes on Au Ra there. Another possible route you could play up with your Auri Archer is their "enhanced hearing and spatial recognition" granted by their horns. Your Au Ra might not truly need to use echolocation, as their horns could potentially pick up these vibrations in sound waves on their own. Aethersight is also an option, but as it was already brought up, the exchange drains your aether, slowly killing you. There's also the concern of where your character would learn to do this, as our only example is by a powerful Sharlayan sage. There's a few other blind characters in the setting, including a former member of the Company of Heroes. Ohh I didnt even think of the horns! You're the best!

I was thinking that as a hunter, she would have honed her hearing to act as her ears. Plus eventually get a dog pet or somesuch to lead or help her hunt. Absolutely no helplessness.

I want to try something new. I have an idea for a blind Au'ra Archer. I usually play lalafells, so I have no idea the lore behind Au'ra or how to go about making a good 'blind' character. Any pointers would be appreciated.

So, I know Balmung and Gilgamesh are the most popular rp servers, but are there any beyond that? I want to make another character, but since Balmung is full, I need to put her in somewhere else for the moment.

Welcome back! I've recently joined the forums too! As for your questions: 1: Is Gilgamesh still an RP server and still active? Yes! However, it's a lot harder to find. People tend to rp either in the Wench or in the Housing Districts. It's easier to find rp there if you get an fc. Balmung has a lot more rp, but you need to take the initiative, or else people won't approach you. (I speak from experience.) 2: Since I haven't played in a long time( I think I had to quit back in 2.1?) any advice/tips for playing Ninja and the new jobs? I'm afraid I don't know how to Ninja, but I'm a level 60 Astrologien. I can give you some pretty detailed help for healing in general. 3: Which server has a more accepting community between Bal/Gilga? Honestly, both servers are quite open and accepting, it just depends on who you rp with. Although like I said before, Balmung needs more buttering up to rp in, specially in Ul'dah.
