SO EY, I'm a guy who does roleplay on a big knight called Ser Doric. I dunno if you've ever seen him, I used to RP a lot on FFXIV but only recently returned. I'm sorta looking for a merc company/band of knights/any free company really to assist in fostering RP with him and a group, and hoped to drag my partner in crime Altani Borlaaq (Nyuunie) along with me. I have an estranged Azeyma Knight character who I'm looking to get friends for, he has a traveling companion who I RP with regularly, but we're both looking to be included in some new events of some sort. If anyone is looking for a holier than thou Knight guy who is stern AF and sort of an arrogant ass, (and also has a rude AF Borlaaq companion) PM me. If you need a character who can fit in the following roles, do tell me! Law Enforcement - Need some lawful good up in a plot? Doric is bound by his Chivalric code to help practically all in need. If you're doing the 'right' thing that is. Thievery victim - Need to steal from someone who is really horrid at concealing their coinpurse? Doric is your guy, this has already happened once so he's on the lookout. Foil - Need a rival to fight? Need a foe to pursue you? Doric is constantly on the lookout for 'criminals' who he seeks to thwart. He's a bit of a zealot though so be careful. Mislead - Have a character who was made to do something awful through the power of persuasion? Doric would love to fight you! Brotherhood - Need another Knight to crusade with? As long as you're not a blackguard, Doric will probably love to help you out. Happen to have a plot with some sort of cosmic terror/insanity/undescribable evil? Do tell me, I'll be all over that shit, Doric has a history with those sort of bads too. Just chatting? - Sure! Doric is sort of a quiet guy but he can get pretty deep when left to converse with some people, it might turn confusing, horrible, and bordering on madness pretty quick though, and if you're of the more roguish variety expect a lot of friction. Mercenary work - Doric doesn't believe in it himself, but his companion will drag him along nonetheless. Tribal friction - Doric travels with a Borlaaq, you know what that means... sexism! I've written a lot of big armored characters in my time, and so has Flashhelix, and he's more than right in saying nobody has to be intimidated by you. At the same time, I am all to aware of the frustrations of every other character deciding they're not intimidated in the least bit by someone four feet taller than them in full plate with a weapon that is actually bigger than they are. I used to actively test this sort of thing on Ivolle, since he was quite a miserable arrogant sack of shit, and the shortest of Norn, he'd actively pick on others considerably smaller than him. Thing was that most people decided someone two-three feet taller was no threat, because they simply knew I couldn't do anything to them IC. However, as the character grew himself a reputation, and I got friends, more and more people came to realize that not roleplaying fear was just sorta shitting on all the other people who had, and those people in turn were angered by those who didn't and thus I noticed more people did it. Interesting for sure, but really nobody has any obligation to roleplay fear, that being said, Ivolle was scared of all sorts of shit. Lightning, spoons, mages of all sorts, his family, his brothers, loyalty, cellars, dungeons, chains, etc. While it's annoying yeah, you've sort've just gotta let the community scold them into learning that they can't be immune to every kind of fear, there's no fun in roleplaying a character who has no fear, because you don't empathize with them! I mean, say they get into a fight, you're going to be rooting against them because they're such an arrogant fuck you sorta wanna see them fail so you can see how they actually /take/ failure. tldr, expect this to happen a lot, but realize that eventually the community will sorta teach that person better (hopefully).

Ser Doric would probably be the same, I mean-- he doesn't have a lot defining him as a 'man' baring his obvious statue, but Roe's are all massive anyway soooooooooooo. Yeah, he'd probably be exactly the same, if not with a different name. What is the feminine version of Doric?

If I ever find a Dark knight inspired by Guts from Berserk I will first cack my pants. Second, be the happiest man on earth, it's a shame not too many people pick up inspiration from that series.

I've RPed on a lot of games, I played a dude named Ivolle on GW2 who apparently had a fanclub? So maybe someone will recognize me from that. On here I play Ser Doric, a lost knight from a distant land that is totally not a character concept I'm borrowing from my old NwN server. Yeah, hi, if anyone has a linkshell I can use to get my character into the RP scene that'd be neato!
