Flipping around the internet I would definitely like to see this getup in game for a gladiator/paladin(?) and the sword (just 'cause it looks like glass and would be fun to wail on people with).

As someone said earlier, I'm pretty neutral on this, though some of the weapons and Snow's coat look pretty sweet. As it seems they're going ahead with this, my only hope is that other items from past FF games come out (namely a classic version of the BM gear - yellow hat with glowing eyes and deep blue coat with puffy pants et al).

One of the first pictures I saw of this game was of a miqo'te pugilist, so I wanted to make one for myself. When I joined the sight I instantly started making characters to rp with and forgot about my original idea. This weekend I randomly found the picture again - so I made my own version. This is a really good idea. I'm sure once the game launches a wiki will be compiled that will list the gear and armour sets from dungeons (and raids?). It will really help us RP people too, since I would assume most of us would prefer to wear a complete outfit (or at least wear good looking pieces from various sets.)

Welcome to the RPC. Your characters sound good, both interesting backstories and you clearly have thought about their classes and how you want them to look. Naming conventions, though based on lore, don't have to be followed strictly. (For example, the Lalafell naming scheme is what it is, but I chose to call mine Onoc Shakar. His name does not follow the scheme at all, but I make up for that through his character dropping his given and surname and choosing one that has more meaning to him.) Also, depending on how you want to play your character you may wish to simply name them as a nickname that they go by. This allows you to break out of the naming schemes all together. When you do get in game, play around with different aspects (seeing as you're not quite sure about the miqo'te tail - maybe making it short and less obtrusive could work?) Also remember, that people will be more focused on how you act and react with your character over what race, gender or class you choose. Sure there are stereotypes, but while Rping, you're allowed to break the mold here and there. Hope this helps a bit. Yeah, this sounds like a great idea - a very helpful thing to new players especially. It could also offer IC opportunities for players to become your apprentices or one of the employees your mentioned. My one question is: What city are you going to be located in?

None of my characters will have gone through the time skip. The majority of them were out at sea at the time, while one was too green to have fought. Another will have been at the battle, but fled after seeing his unit wiped out, escaping the field minutes before the warp took place.

Made my Roegal this weekend and loved developing her character. Sigyn is cute and fun (though quiet shy). Glad to see so many other Roegadyn ladies! *Also, Ivory Forest yay!*

I'm assuming this is supposed to be some form of ball? I believe I saw someone had even drawn up a dress for the event. Are dresses and other formal clothing in the game (and, if so, are we expected to wear such for the event)?

I had a lot of fun with the character creation. I had my main character planned out a while ago, and decided to create characters of the friends listed on his wiki. My main, Lizzo Trange. His best friend Sigmund Forrester. The girl to round out the friendship, the adorable Sigyn Bloebloud. Sigyn's father, Crowe. Lizzo's girlfriend, Zali'ah Qin. (She will be recreated as an arcanist at launch.) After a while I wanted to try out other creations, these characters are the result. They are as married as people can be without it ever being officiated. Ocon Shakar... and the love of his life, the beautiful Paige Wier.

Great selection Uther - nice to see Kingdom of Heaven on there (Ibelin for Ul'dah seems to fit nicely I tend to listen to the game music more often than not, or just a random playlist I've compiled that is for any gaming I do, leaving me to actually like having theme songs for RP characters. Not saying that one song can do a character justice 100% of the time, but in certain situations definitely. If the thief is brought in it should be done so like it was in FFTTA, as a baseline class that then can upgrade to ninja. Samurai could also come from thief if combined with the archer or gladiator. Fencer (medium armor) would be cool to go up to red mage through a combination of fencer and thaumaturge. Blue mage would be cool too, coming from a combo of thaumaturge and conjurer. Beast master would be interesting, but seems to kind of been fulfilled by the arcanist/scholar.

There's still fun stuff happening in GW2?

Yeah, a few clicks here and there and I found the download link. Yay, I'm so excited!

Grehn gave me a PC beta code...and it worked, but the site now says "All option services are currently unavailable." Does this mean that I can't download the client at all, or will I be able to get it at some point for next weekend? (Thanks again Grehn!)

Don't know what to tell you Fire as I didn't get into the beta. I think Thunder (Thundaga) is usually the most powerful spell. I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I'm wanting my main to be quite powerful with ice magic (Blizzard, Blizzara, etc.). However, even though the spells may not be as powerful as others in terms of fighting, that doesn't mean we can't just RP that our chosen element is better practiced by our characters.
