St. Reinette's University and Orphanage <SR-UO>
Serenity replied to Higura's topic in (Antiquated) Free Company Hall
Hey there! Uhmmm...i just found out about this and I was wondering if I could get permission to use the orphanage as part of my characters backstory..? Please contact me as I have no idea how things like this are handled -
Serenity was troubled by L'Rinhi's words... Did this mean she may not be able to be saved? But there was still so much she hadn't experienced... So much left to do. Here's heart tight from fear, Serenity did the only thing that she could think of. Rising from her resting place on the hammock, Serenity walked over and beckoned to Tryxlia, the pair going to their own little hammock. As she lay down, Serenity beckoned to her friend, needing comfort now more than ever. With a shimmer and a change of colour from red to pale green, Tryxlia hovered beside it's companion, offering a soothing glow to aid in Serenity's slumber.

Ul'dah... Serenity had only dreamed of visiting the vast jewel of he desert. She'd read about it from many of her research tomes, how the monetarists had taken mere sand and turned it into gold. Serenity had heard tales from various adventurers of the daring tales of exploration, the fine cuisine of the various establishments... And oh, the nightlife! She'd heard rumors that one could have any desire sated by any number of heavenly maidens or fortuitous lords. A city where anything was possible... As long as you had the coin. Serenity dug her hand into her leather pouch, feeling the cool golden chips of Gil against her finder. She always made sure to keep a modest amount of coins on her, but... She wanted so much to experience this whimsical city, to partake in its festivities and explore it's alleyways and denizens. Alas, Serenity knew from L'Rinhi's words that this was no pleasure cruise. As she watched her partner sway in her hammock, Serenity let her mind drift to the task at hand. What had caused such a disturbance within her..? Was her aether truly tainted? Was there even a cure? She stood there motionless as the gentle swaying of the ship rocked the hammocks around them ever so gently. The entire ordeal had been quite a strain on the poor blonde. She'd gone from being auctioned off like a piece of meat, to feeling all sorts of new emotions towards Rini... And then there was her issue before her, looming like a dark cloud ready to drench her in rain if she wasn't careful. Taking a seat at the edge of Rini's hammock, Serenity fidgets with her hands, her soft words crying louder than a scream for aid and reassurance. "L'Rinhi... Can I... Can I be saved if my... Aether is tainted?"

Slowly getting dressed, Serenity went over her thoughts over and over again. None of this made any sense. Each question only brought about more that begged an answer, and Serenity had naught. As she finished the final ties on her garments, Serenity moved to join Rini and Scaith as she heard them discussing patching to where they needed to get to. Through all oft his, Tryxlia was by Serenity's side, though as an elemental there wasn't very much it could do to aid it's friend in this matter. Still, as she moved it followed, joining finally as the three began discussions. "Thank you... Both of you. I fear for what may have happened to me... But I have many questions and I feel as though they demand answers... Would it be possible to make a course for the Arcanist's guild? I'd like to do some research... And I'd... Also like to have you two by my side... I can... Pay if it's Gil you're after... Or I can compensate you in other ways... Knowledge... Protection... "

As she listened to the two talking about her, Serenity slowly felt herself begin to return. Whatever had been done to her was fading, and with each fleeting moment, she could feel more of her strength and energy return to her. But she still couldn't shake her memories of what she saw and felt. What did it all mean? Why had it happened then? This wasn't something she was used to, and it only meant another point of research to conduct once she returned to the guild. As Serenity felt better, she slowly shifted and sat up, holding the donated garments against her body as she slowly tried to explain herself to her rescuers. "I'm... Sorry I put you two through that... It wasn't my intention to... Show you my weakest side." Slowly scouring the room for her clothing, Serenity carefully got up and began walking towards it, intending on getting dressed so she could... Well, hopefully salvage whatever she could from this disaster.

Serenity groaned as her head pounced with each movement of her body. Only once she was picked up by the strange male did she realize she had been laid bare for both to witness. Meekly trying to cover what parts of her dignity she could, Serenity gently sniffed and cried, the feeling of being ravaged by the unknown assailant still fresh within her. "Pl... Please... Don't.. Leave... " Serenity tugged weakly at the male carrying her, trying to pull herself closer... The malevolent energy she felt seemed to be following, almost feeding off her weakened state. As the four made their way out of the change tent and through the gawking crowds, they eventually reached a safe spot to discuss further movements with each other. Tryxlia trailed behind the three, it's form glistening as it did it's best to watch over the small group as they reassessed the situation. "Ri...ni...please don't... Leave me..."

Roleplayer Uncertainty/Insecurity Theater
Serenity replied to Warren Castille's topic in Character Workshop
My fear is that my character is too boring, or that people will mistake hoe she acts for how I am OOC. I know that most players are sick of the kinds of RP I'm interested in so I just happen to feel a little bit self conscious about asking for my main hooks of people. -
balmung Tribal Seeker needs friends.
Serenity replied to Ra'kasah Ralmel's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hi there! I'm going to be on Balmung before too long and would love to meet people and discuss things! I read your post and have a couple ideas that would help us both, so feel free to message me if you like what Serenity has to offer -
Serenity closed her eyes and tried to get up. Her arms felt wobbly and her knees seemed to refuse to bend. After a few attempts, the blonde collapsed helplessly onto the floor, tears beginning to well up in her eyes. "I'm... I'm sorry. I don't... This... Has never happened... But you'll... Be late..."
-
Serenity found herself alone in a dark room. She tried to move but no matter how she struggled, she couldn't seem to move at more than a snail's pace. Using what limited motion she had, she took a look around. The room itself was unassuming; wooden walls and floors, ornate furniture and candlelight adorned lamps on the walls. We're it not for the feeling of imminent doom, this would look white quaint. Serenity called out for help. First to L'Rinhi, then to Tryxlia. No answer came to her. The room became colder as she inched towards the door, the lights dimming with each step. Finally, as Serenity reached for the cool, brass doorknob, the lights went out and she was again plunged into darkness. Voices began to cackle around her, mocking her and laughing at her past. Flashes of her upbringing coursed through her eyes as she was forced to Remer her cold, unloving father... Her need to sneak around to practice her gift in seclusion... Her meeting with Tryxlia... But that feeling was a happy one. Tryxlia was her friend. Why then, was it..? The answer would never come, as Serenity slowly came to, groaning as L'Rinhi knelt over her nude body. Her bathing suit was in a pile on the floor around her, her robes still folded neatly on the change bench. "Ooooh... We-what... Where am I..?"
-
As she entered the changeroom and began to undress, Serenity could feel her beating heart within her chest. Each second caused her muscles to tighten and her balance to wane. What was happening? Something didn't feel right. She looked to Tryxlia as it hovered in the small tent, shimmering a brighter colour than usual. Begging her friend, Serenity called out silently for help, but was only met with a shimmer and flickering of its iridescent light. "R...Rini... I... Help..!" Serenity's words were weak but audible as her body tumbled to the floor, her pale skin convulsing on the wood as she fought to keep awake. Her last thought before she slipped away was hoping her partner could hear her, and she prayed that she'd be kept safe by the young female.

balmung Seeking RP Connections and Friends
Serenity replied to Yune's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hi Yune! I'd absolutely adore trying to brainstorm some possible RP scenarios. Please get in touch with me as soon as you'd like! -
Without a word, Serenity nodded and briskly began walking towards the makeshift changeroom where she'd left her things. Her mind had many questions as well about where things may go, and though she knew where she'd like them... Something seemed to nag at her that perhaps they wouldn't. This saddened the blonde slightly, but she did her best to keep her resolve positive and at the very least make a new friend. Grabbing her things and gesturing towards the changeroom, Serenity looked longingly at L'Rinhi, knowing she may be asking too much. "Well... I would like to get out of this... But I don't want you to feel... Obligated... To stay. I'd like it if you did, but..."
-
Serenity shook her head, squirming slightly at the question. "N-no... It was a choice I made when I was... Well, I think a little younger than you. I... Had to make do with what was given to me." Serenity looked down at herself, remembering she'd left her clothing behind where the stage was. Should she risk it? "If... If you can spare the time... I would like if.... You came with me so I can... Get my things. I left them behind."
-
Smiling and feeling quite good about having things go so successfully, Serenity gingerly trailed behind the young lass, getting more and more self-conscious as they walked past people. Truth be told, Serenity was feeling quote exposed in her one-piece, and longed to return to her usual vestments. Hearing Rini's questions, Serenity did her best to hide her excitement that the girl was taking any kind of interest in her. After all, this was the first time it had happened and she'd been allowed to stay for any meaningful length of time. "uh... I'm from the Arcanist Guild, living... Well, I don't really have a home. I spend my days in the Arcanist's library. It's been... Well, I barely remember having a place to really call my own." Serenity noticed the male sitting and watching the two as they passed, no doubt thinking she was still fulfilling her earlier obligation from the event. Blushing Serenity gave him a soft nod before continuing on with her friend. "How... About yourself..? "
-
Serenity tilted her head, a sad expression slowly making its way along her lips. Had she said or done something? Perhaps this was just the way things should be... But she didn't want them to, if she could help it. "Well... If you are so... Insistent on me having my... Freedom... Then I'll take it." Then, Serenity very deliberately laced her fingers together as her arms slid behind her back, stretching as she attempted to fight her nervous personal. Tryxlia flickered and shimmered as it watched Serenity, it's colour seeming to slowly fade as it became somewhat transparent. Her friend beside her, Serenity managed to find the strength to put herself out there. No bids, no strings. "Since I'm free... Can I... Maybe at least see you to your ship..? If you don't want me by your side as... Someone you own... Then may I accompany you as someone who desires to all of her own?"

One anti anxiety boatload of hug (*warning may contain leg biting not actual hugging*) https://media.giphy.com/media/26AHNo23yQAtFLddK/giphy.gif[/img] Serenity's never really had a hug before...
-
Serenity barely had opened her mouth to speak before the shattering bellow pierced the otherwise tranquil conversation. Looking at Tira as she motioned for the back, Serenity sprang into a sort of calm evasive action, taking hold of Rini's hand once more as she began to lead the fellow Miqo'te away from the trouble. Tryxlia was nowhere to be seen in the commotion, no doubt doing what it did best; keeping it's partner safe. With her eyes glinting to and from, Serenity tugged L'Rinhi through the crowd, losing themselves from the impending confrontation. As they reached a secluded part of the beach strip, Serenity finally slowed and came to a stop, a deep exhale of breath signaling they were safe. Tryx appeared mere moments later, hovering behind Serenity as it stood vigil for the two. With a soft chuckle muffled by heaving breath, Serenity looked at L'Rinhi before realizing she'd once again managed to take hold of her new acquaintance. "O-oh... Oh dear, I'm... I'm so sorry! I just... I don't know what came over me, but... I just wanted to... Well, I mean I had to keep you... Safe. "
-
Serenity lowered her ears and her face became sullen and somber. Thinking on her past always brought negative feelings. "My family... I have no family. I've managed just fine with Tryx." Her brow furrowed as she remembered her childhood. "I'm happy the way I am... Though I would like a family of my own. How about you..? If I may be so bold to ask, that is..."
-
The Miqo'te straightened up, feeling a tinge of sadness at the admission of Rini not dating. Nodding slowly, Serenity made herself a silent promise, smiling softly as she indulged the two in her story. "Well... You already know my name... I'm twenty-seven years old, and... Well, I've been on my own for... Too many of those years. I've devoted myself to arcanism and hope to learn all I can about Summoners and their talents." Gesturing to Tryxlia, Serenity explained her friend. "This is Tryxlia. She appeared while I was practicing my aether manipulation. It's been my only friend for... Well my entire life. I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound negative.. Might just haven't led the most exciting life."
-
Hearing L'Rinhi mutter and seeing her blush spoke volumes to Serenity. She knew what it felt like to be nervous, and she immediately hoped she hadn't managed to mess her chance up before it even began. She chewed her lip, slowly relaxing as Rini continued, affirming that Serenity was indeed welcome around the teen. However, it was her promise to never leave Serenity alone that caused the older blonde to swoon ever so slightly. She'd never heard those words from anyone... Ever. And now, to hear it from Rini... Her hear skipped several beats. But no, she needed to not... Mess this up. Sitting across from the two women, Serenity let out a deep sigh, trying her best to relax. That was foiled rather quickly by Tira's comment about L'rinhi buying her as a date. That alone made Serenity a brighter shade of pink than her cherry blossom earrings. Did this really count as a date? What did a date consist of? Should she be holding her dates hand? What should she talk about? "O-oh... Ummm... I guess it's... Up to miss Kett. I mean... If it is, I... I don't... Mind."
-
Upon hearing L'Rinhi explain rather flatly about the predicament they two were in, Serenity was unsure of how to feel. Tryxlia had since backed down, floating behind its companion as it watched things unravel. Serenity looked down to the sand, twisting her toes as she mustered up the courage to press forward. Finally, eyes still on the ground, Serenity reached out for L'Rinhi's hand with her own. "Well... As much as I appreciate the gesture... I'm also here of my own... Choice. I can't get too much into it, but... I'm happy with the outcome. Please... If not because of the auction, then... Because it's something I'd... I'd like." Serenity did her best to sidestep the mention of a date, knowing this girl was a might bit younger than her. Still... There were worse things than an age gap... Finally lifting her gaze to see Rini's reaction, Serenity offered a genuine smile, free of worry or doubt. "I'd at least like to get to know you... I'm... In need of friends." Seeing the verdant hair out of the corner of her eye, Serenity smiled, nodding happily. Gesturing towards the cabana, Serenity wordlessly offered to the two girls to relax in the shade.
-
The sound of L'Rinhi's voice was not at all what Serenity had expected to hear. She was caught quite off-guard in fact, thinking hat perhaps there was something about her that the young teenager wasn't fond of. "Uhm... Well, you've won... Me, I guess. For a day, at least. Am I... Not to your liking?" The blonde's ears twisted as she heard two sets of footsteps coming towards where she stood; one she could tell was probably the event organizers coming to collect what was owed, but the other... She turned her head to see a woman with rather vivid green hair making her way closer. Tryxlia shimmered, the air around it becoming ever so slightly warmer as it prepared to defend it's friend if needed.
