Thanks for hosting the great event, Kawa certainly had a lot of fun (and possibly a hangover from that green Doman liquid) Also id like to thank everyone who was working at the bar, that must have been one hell of a job with that constant wall of text rushing by for hours!

Hey Elza! Considering that we already ran into each other a couple of times id happily help out! As you know i myself am super new, but i just was thrown into the cold water last week and participated in the Grindstone... it definitly is great fun and i absolutley recommend it! Currently listening to the newest Culprate LP on repeat. Its such a great journey from start to finish, ever changing but still staying true to its sound color. What i love the most about it is how every track differs from the one before, both in tempo and mood (heck, even single songs changes multiple times) - but eventhough its so ever changing it still keeps that "vibe" from beginning to end and just blends together perfectly. It starts out with an ambient vocal track and then quickly dives into the dephths of experimental electronic, mabye even avantgarde music. It goes from smooth and soft to still smooth but impulsive. It blends in orchestral elements aswell as guitar riffs. Oh, and it futures a Kalimba. That should be reason enough! Anyway, enough chit-chat from an audio-obsessed musician, feel free to listen for yourself! (I guess that long text shows how much i admire this LP, propably one of my all time favourits when it comes to electronic LPs. And now ill really shut up and let you listen. Hey Ian, a warm welcome to the RP community from a fellow WoW player and anime watcher! Although when i think of it i'm propably not even in a position to greet new players as i myself joined XIV only a week ago Anyway, when it comes to reading the sources on that list i just poked into those that seemed interesting and/or important for my character. After i had made myself familiar with the basic lore and setting i started to ask myself questions about the character. Everytime i was unable to answer a question i searched for a lore fitting answer in all the great information threads. Also, while this one might make hardcore rpers roll their eyes and shake their heads in disbelieve, i decided to just throw myself into the RP expirience. Once i had my character somewhat fleshed out and knew how he would react to certain situation i simply started to RP, coming up with more character details on the fly when needed... so far that worked quite well and im really really enjoying my time on Balmung. The RP is so much better than anything ive ever expirienced in WoW. Sorry for that long post, i propably should stop now so i dont end up writing a novel. If you have a character on Balmung by any chance feel free to add me, im always up for good fun! I hope you enjoy your time in the community and am certain that the more expirienced players can answer your questions in way more detail! Cheers, Kawa

Ha, happy to see there indeed are people interested! Seems like i'll have to sit down and write some sample themes the next days. I wouldn't want to write for a certain character or event before giving you an idea of what to expect. After i uploaded those pieces, feel free to approach me directly with your character so we can come up with a custom-made piece of music Now that you mention it, i hadn't even thought about that yet. In fact, some coin would greatly help out a poor student who had to pay for his studies on his own Joking aside, i'll think about that more precicley once the sample pieces are uploaded. Eventhough many might not think so, music production actually takes time and effort, just as painting or writing To sum it up, im glad some of you are interested and i'd be even more glad if i could provide you with the epic character themes you crave for! PS: I'd actually love to do that! I attended the last Grindstone (it was my first one as i only started playing a week ago) and absolutley loved it. Really deserves an impulsive theme!

Hey peeps, i just had that idea of writing a music theme for my own character and thought maybe others could be interested aswell ! Im currently studying Audiodesign and am in my 5th semester, so sound is basically what id like to do for a living once im done studying. Id be willing to write anything from a solo piano piece to an orchestral sketch. Electronic stuff is possible aswell. So yeah, just throwing that idea in here to see if anyone is interested. If so ill sit down and provide some sample work so you can decide if my musical style is to your liking Cheers, Kawa

If you have more than one character you're transferring, I'd say go ahead and do the same thing with them. Get them to the point where you unlock airships and have them be able to traverse the different city-states. It would also not be a bad idea to flesh out your character if you're not already done that! I'm also seconding some additional leveling for better gear selection as well. Question, though. When you started playing the game, did you start as a trial account then later purchased the game itself? If so, then yes. You'll have to wait until your account becomes Standard. Yeah, i did, but it says Standart account on my account page. I guess ill propably have to get a game card first... meh

I think you've got to wait for the initial trial days to expire. I'd say instead of stopping at the "Close to Home" quest, go ahead and push to about level 15 so you can unlock the airships. That will give you more freedom to actually meet people in other areas. A good bit of roleplay also goes on in the housing districts so getting those unlocked as well won't hurt in the slightest. I had a few friends that also ran into this when starting from a trial account. Already did that, currently level 20 with my main class. So i guess ill have to wait another week before i can transfer... talk about frustrating Thanks a lot anyway!

Sorry for being annoying, but i just came up with a new question :blush: My characters should be open for transfer in about 24 hours, i planned to spend the next few hours completing the "Close To Home" quest on all of them (seems like that is needed to transfer). Now there's also this: ・Your free trial for the service account to be used has yet to expire, and you have yet to be charged a service fee. As i just bought the game im still in the 1 month free playtime period... so i guess i wont be able to transfer tomorrow? I am a little puzzled about that at the moment, as simply adding a subscription wouldnt work either, would it? Thanks in advance... just let me get on Balmung already!
