Yeah kudos to the people at the Little Ala Mhigo gathering thing. I didn't actually have a plan when I dropped my pants. Good looking out.

discussion Things Your Character Believes That Are Wrong
Baby Hands replied to Verad's topic in Character Workshop
This is going to be fun. And a lot. Sorry in advance. When it comes to the races of Eorzea... there's a lot. Highlanders are good only for their muscle and he firmly believes even the brightest of the bunch are duller than the dullest lalafell. Especially if they're Ala Mhigans. Miqo'te males - even Seekers - he considers to be a subspecies to their own race, and only tolerated and kept around by females for the sake of procreation, and are good for virtually nothing else. Not just subhuman, but submiqo'te. The title of Nuhn he believes to mean: 'the most seed.' Au Ra are essentially lizards, he's quite sure their tongues are long enough to lick their own eyeballs, and even though he's been told otherwise as far as he's concerned the jury is still out on whether female Auri have actual female parts. He believes all Roegadyn have a distant relation to Amaal'ja, and so the term 'Sea Wolves' confuses him. He mixes up the relationships of the Twelve. Constantly. Since he is ready to believe all perverted rumors told by the wise sage One-Eyed Wondada, he is sure the rivalry between Nophica and Halone has to do with breast envy. Even though he travels there sometimes, he is completely clueless to the going-ons of Gridania. He's pretty sure the Padjal are the authority when it comes to choosing blood sacrifices to appease their shiny boogeymans. He does not believe the Elementals are an actual real thing - just a fairy tale to keep citizens in line. Which he thinks is ingenious. Alcohol has no adverse affects on his physical health. He's 100% certain it's called 'Thravneer.' Since he's actually never seen one face-to-face, he thinks the idea of Garleans having a third eye is ridiculous, and is positive people are just mistaking for an eye what is actually a third nipple. Chakras are made up nonsense propagated by Ala Mhigans to make themselves seem more powerful. He believes all forms of magick are essentially the same. He's never seen a kobold, but based on the descriptions he's heard, they are... goblins. Kobold = another term for goblin. Okay I'm just going to stop myself here but I can go on for ages. You get the idea. -
I always check search info before I walk up to anyone. I'll go off of anything - even if their search info doesn't explicitly mention RP I'll walk up if they look like they're standing around IC. Hooks aren't needed, I can come up with whatever I need to approach someone on the fly. Obviously with this strategy I get ignored half the time. A risk I'm willing to take, I will RP with anyone so I don't expect it to work out each time. Only time I'll avoid walking up to someone right off the bat is if their search info is mostly ERP info. More for their sake than mine. I doubt I could tickle their fancy... among other things.

discussion Going Lalafell, distinct decline in RP?
Baby Hands replied to Lamiaris's topic in RP Discussion
You make it sound like playing a creepy character is an inherently bad thing. As if creepy people aren't something that exist in real life, let alone Eorzea. 'Hate' is a pretty strong word for RP that doesn't appeal to your sensibilities. It's not hard to just "/em turns around and walks away." And where do you even draw the line at a troll? Do you mean an emote spamming PvEer that doesn't RP but is in the Quicksand? Or a character that gets trashed and loudly compliments your characters amazing legs? God forbid. If you don't want to chance creeps and trolls in your RP don't do public, open or walk-up RP. A simple solution to a simple problem. I understand some people take it personally if not everyone treats their character well, so if you have this problem I'd recommend never RPing outside of party chat. I feel bad Caspar wrote all that stuff for you only to see you brush it off with an unfair viewpoint, but like Knislige said maybe lalafell RPers are better off. Knowing that a few bad apples ruining the whole for you is silly sure is nice, otherwise I'd have packed up my shit and left ages ago thanks to cancerous opinions like these. -
discussion Going Lalafell, distinct decline in RP?
Baby Hands replied to Lamiaris's topic in RP Discussion
Thinking about this, lalafell are also commonly portrayed in-game as overtly sexual more than even miqo'te, so the lack of lalafell floozy's and lewd lads running around is also probably a result of player bias. Player bias might also have to do with some players playing their lalafell non-seriously (nothing wrong with that), or some people even using them as stand-ins for children of other races. So unless your search info is specific, people might avoid lalafell just so they don't have to chance what they don't jive with. Which is silly if you're doing open RP in my opinion, but oh well. Seriously. Their loss! -

Yeah, it can be bad. I've seen people go from IC to pretend-AFK the moment I walked up to them. My name probably doesn't help, but still. Their loss. Just from personal experience, people are a lot less likely to take lalafell seriously too. This is all in random RP, though. I'm sure if you planned ahead of time with people you would never run into this issue. But yeah, people don't want lalafell in their RP. Is it because they're not interested in fucking them? Might be. I'd say that's the case a good quarter of the time in the Quicksand. Otherwise, who knows. -
I'm all about this. While Baby can cause public scenes and chaos due to rude, drunken antics, when it comes to the business side of things he's got tons of experience and can be real slick. I'll keep an eye out for you if you're online. It's always nice to RP characters that don't have much of a moral compass.

Under the sun of high noon, a man felt an oppressive heat whilst lounging outside the Gate of the Sultana. And no, not that sort of heat. There were now far more than the desired amount of watchful eyes in the city, and if the man had any sense, he would consider himself partly to blame. In retrospect, it hadn't been the brightest of ideas to put himself in such a position, but he had become impatient in his old age, and had little desire to devote extra care to the smallest cogs in his system. Getting caught wrist-deep in R'jumani - bent over a crate across from the Ruby Road Exchange - in an effort to retrieve his goods hadn't been part of the plan. Such a sight must have seemed suspect to the average passerby, and two Brass Blades quickly became four, the number no doubt escalating after he made his hasty retreat. The heat had not died down after several bells thanks to R'jaharra (he could never remember names), the silly bitch, getting herself caught. At the very least, he had managed to retrieve his merchandise. Small, discreet, and wrapped carefully, there were many souls who would pay a high price for it. If they could ignore the smell, that is, to which the heat - and here he would refer to the temperature - was doing no favor. But the incident had struck a hard blow against his planned business for the day, and the man was left to loiter at the Eighty Sins of Sasamo, his home turf. He had hoped to return to the Ruby Road, which would now be risky for the next few suns. Pearl Lane, ever shady, was far too obvious. His thoughts drifted to the Quicksand, where the men were men, and so were half the women.1 It was an easy escape, but the tavern seemed to shift between lawlessness and righteousness nearly every bell, and was therefore too unreliable. The man could simply not risk getting caught, and he knew that stripping off his clothes and pretending to drown in a fountain was an escape ploy that would only work once. And so here he was. Conducting 'business.' Lounging on a cornerstone by start of the stair, legs spread, with a nasty look in his eye. It would be petty business today, with yields to be dependent upon whoever had the misfortune of passing him all by their lonesome. Extortion? Robbery? Kidnapping? The man grunted as he scratched a private itch. A lesser man would be satisfied with the yield he dug out earlier, but he was not yet contented, his thirst for trouble - unquenched. Looking to the gate, the man traced the outline of the tattoo on the side of his face, and waited.

I'm still interested in joining this linkshell if that's okay. I haven't been around recently due to the patch keeping me busy on my main. I'll message you in-game, or I can PM you here to set up a time if that works better for you.

VILLAIN REQUIRED for kidnapping arc. [CLOSED]
Baby Hands replied to Mithgar Wirasch's topic in Chronicled Connections
I heard about this thread through my network of spies. I greatly enjoy playing villain characters, and would be more than happy to NPC the bad guy for you or anyone else. Like most people have already said though, I'm not willing to kill my character just yet, but I am sure I can adequately fill the role you are looking for. -
Thanks everyone for the kind replies. I haven't been around much due to my main and RL obligations keeping me away, so sorry for the late response. I managed to drum up a wiki for Baby in a fit of boredom however, so do please check it out. Hope to see some of you in-game!

Hello everyone, I am here to introduce myself. While I am not new to FFXIV or RP, I am new to this site. My character is on Balmung - a lalafell named Baby Hands. That's not his real name of course, so don't worry. I have two other mains, one on Tonberry for raiding and another on Balmung for RP purposes, though real life and PvE obligations have left me little time to RP seriously anymore. Thus, Baby Hands was born, who I mostly just play during downtime and when I get bored. I've had a lot of fun on him so far, so I hope to see some of you around, despite my weird hours. In terms of RP, I can easily adapt to any style, and I prefer to stick to lore as close as I can. Baby Hands is a bit of an enigma, and comes off as a bit stupid and nonchalant, and almost offensively gregarious. At the end of the day, he is a 100% villain-type character with lots of experience in unsavory things, and I'd like to explore that with him once I get into the groove with him a bit more. If anyone is looking for a dangerous yet cautious criminal for use in their storyline, please feel free to contact me. Other than that, he's a free spirit that can work with just about any character type, so if you see me scumming about in Ul'dah (I'm only level 4, mercy), feel free to approach! He can be pretty rude, though.
