  1. I've personally run into this issue previously. Leave no man behind! Please review again, apparently not all of the text was caught on my first attempt. Oh cool, I didn't know about the Duty Finder option to get out of that bug. Awesome! :3
  2. Thanks for posting this! I'd only heard about the Ifrit issue, so if ya'll have a dead person at the end of the fight make sure to pick 'em up!
  3. A good guess might be that they'd use the same start time they've had for the beta phases, 2am PDT.
  4. Yaaaay for hearthstones! I wonder if Yoshida is referencing an idea of Hearthstones from Dark Age of Camelot. You could put one in your basement and set it as your home point for quick travel :3 (It was quick 'cause you could also put a teleporter npc in there to get to other cities >.>) So excited!!!! . Only three days left! I can hardly stand it! :bouncy:
  5. Lol! I'm actually trying to find the blue set, I apologize if my post made it sound like I was looking for the Acolyte stuff
  6. Alright, so just about everyone knows what the Acolyte set looks like at this point, but I found a variation on a NPC and I'd love to know how to get my hands on it. I've checked ZAM, Google.. all I come up with is zip. If anyone has any idea about what this set is called, where it drops, who crafts it, etc. please let me know! This is the Arcanist Guild Guildmaster, and I'm seriously hoping this isn't NPC only clothing.
  7. Oooh I'd love to do a DW screenie! As long as someone is in Grid for her to hear a rumor about a gathering it should be easy to come up with a reason to go to a gathering. After all, word about something like that is sure to cause a bit of gossip. I never found the DW LS during phase 4 either, and I haven't seen any posts about it in here for a while, so.... I unno what's going on with that. Maybe someone else will have to start it after EA begins? Oh, and if anyone wants to find Mya for RP after EA starts make sure to send me a /tell in game (Myavar Hla'rahel), 'cause I probably wont physically be in Grid. I intend to level mah face off . Myavar's current story has her as a fledgling student at the Conjurer's Guild, so going places outside of the city in RP wont be possible for a bit. THREE MORE DAYS!! :bouncy:
  8. I went to their Support area and sent in a ticket with my code/website used and less than two hours later I got an email saying my pre-order code was registered with my early access code at the bottom. I have no idea if the two are related, 'cause I was still getting issues on the registration website, but I figured sending in a ticket couldn't hurt. They'd either answer it quickly, or not see it until after EA started.
  9. I spammed my screenshot button during character creation in hopes of a spiffy shot. Dis one ish mah fayvwit!
  10. Definitely enjoyed the article, Koren! Thank you for posting it!
  11. *is now stalking this thread* Your arts... they are teh awesome arts! Someday I shall commission your arts, because I adore your arts... Did I mention that I  your arts?:love::love:
  12. It was awesome watching you work Koren! Absolutely lovely!
  13. I'm of the mind to be flexible when it comes to adjusting personally created lore. Everyone is right in that we don't have a lot of detailed information from SE, but I don't personally have any problems with backtracking through Myavar's story to alter things if it comes up that my stuff conflicts with SE's stuff =3 I have zero problem with other people's lore, and if they don't know about this thread or want to use anything that has been posted here then that's fine too! If we gain anything from having vague information from SE it's the freedom to be creative with our stories! Mind you... if I meet a DW in game named Drizzt (or any form of) that's an archer and is trying to pretend they're a Do'Urden Ima spin on my heel and bound the other way >.>
  14. That is an -awesome- family tree! Super +1 to you Meg! We're like a rainbow across that picture! :bouncy:
  15. I just noticed that the banner on our clan page has a silly in it.. The male Duskwight in the image has two different skin colors from his face to his arm o_O; On a serious thought about the "Right of Passage" I think I'll stick with something small and simple, like the passing on of an heirloom. I'd mentioned a little about it to Meg in a PM, but there's a very important item to Myavar that was passed down from several generations of women in her ancestry. This particular item could easily serve the purpose of a recognition into adulthood, at the least, and would serve the purpose for a single family.
  16. Abaaaaaaaai~ Any plans to stream some arting soon? Eh? ~EH??! o__O
  17. I. Basic Info Characters: Myavar Hla'Rahel Primary character: Myavar Hla'Rahel Linkshells: Not in a Linkshell currently Primary RP linkshell: n/a [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-heavy; I like to stay in character as much as possible, but everyone has moments where it's just as fun to not RP and do normal PvE things. After all, some dungeon loot makes for awesome RP garb :3 Views on RP combat and injuries: I did a lot of RP combat in GW2, and occasionally it would go well. Without a duel system, though, it can go downhill really fast with god-modding. As a healer character, though, anything she'll be doing in combat will be on the mending side of things instead of the inflicting. Views on IC romance: At present I have zero desire for any kind of IC romance RP. I'm fully aware that RL is separate from RP, but as a married woman I'm just flat out not comfortable with it involving my own character. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I'm very interested in the unique "family" RP that comes with being a Duskwight. It's a family, within a family, within an even bigger family! Beyond that the only non-romantic RP I'm not fond of is slave RP that gets taken to those dark places where everyone goes ">.>; .. <.<; .."*slowly backs away* Views on lore: I love the lore we have, but I wish it held more fine details about the races/clans/nations. Things that would help in the field of RP. On the flip side of that I can understand why it's a benefit for it to be a generalized lore, because it allows RPers to create very unique characters that aren't hindered by too rigid of predefined guidelines. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say will almost always be IC for me. Unless a situation obviously isn't a RP encounter I try to keep as much OOC out of the chat to reduce clutter as possible. As far as other chat types, it can vary depending on the current need/or guild type. I've been in guilds where /g chat was required to be IC at all times, and others where it was always OOC. I'm flexible. [*] III. 18. Thank you guys! It definitely gives me something to think about with developing something for my little Hla'Rahel clan. There's only 3 members of it currently, so something overly ceremonial and complex might be odd... *produces a cake and sets it on the table* How about this? Anyone that can eat this whole cake, by themselves, has completed the right of passage!
  19. Brom and Yssen got me thinking about this in Skype earlier, but has anyone given thought to a "Right of Passage" ceremony for Duskwight? I'm hispanic, and as is common I had a quinceanera (nothing super special, but for those that can afford it ... it can get complex), but the basic premise is for a "girl" to celebrate coming of age into a "young lady". There's even a part of the ceremony where one of the parents removes the girl's flats (flat shoes) and slips on her heels (nothing stupid high). I'm probably not going to RP out anything in game about it, but it'd be something interesting if we worked out a more universal ceremony for a Duskwight child's coming of age where they're recognized as a young adult instead of a child.
  20. This is really awesome! Between the skill generator, the RP guide, and the 100 questions Vash posted a while back I've got all sorts of resources for molding Myavar into something fun to introduce into Eorzea! Thanks guys!
  21. Myavar Hla'Rahel stuffs!... I really can't help it, I love your art style too much to not hope for arts @___@;;;. Myavar's RPC wiki page A more zoomed in image. It's the only one I have with her finalized design concept >.<
  22. Kindred spirits! Sisters of the heart! Plus with how close DW tend to be we'd probably end up feeling like family to each other despite not being direct relatives. If we ever meet, anyways, though from the looks of it we should definitely plan on it! I've also given my clan a bit of thought, and I think the Hla'Rahel name will be the start of a new clan, instead of worrying too much about what clan(s) her parents are from. That bit can always be worked out later if the opportunity presents itself. For now I think I'll be content with a little 3 person clan =3
  23. I'll probably end up spending loads of time in Gridania and the Fane. I love that city so much, ICly and OOCly it's just an awesome place to me. Over time I'll probably ease Myavar into the "Adventurer" role, something like a combat healer. It depends on what friends she makes and if circumstances line up to give her a reason to leave Gridania. As soon as I can, though, I plan on buying a quaint little house and setting it up as a type of clinic RP location. Say there isn't anyone at the Fane, or people want to RP that sort of thing in a less crowded area, then they can seek out "That Duskwight lady" who lives down on Malboro Lane. More than likely people who come to her at her home will find fresh warm tea, a comfortable place to sit, and a nice clean environment to be treated for whatever ails them. (Of course if you've got a broken bone she'll unceremoniously snap it back into place after distracting you with a cup of tea. Don't expect to be handed a fine expensive tea-cup)
  24. I finally got to the final page of this thread! Woo! :bouncy: Despite spending the last few weeks brainstorming my character I have to admit I'd never given any thought to her clan. Her family name is Hla'Rahel (La-Rah~el.... Ima end up having to make an audio recording I think, lol!), but I never pictured her parents as anything besides loving people. I still haven't decided on the how/why her parents came to Gridania. I've been toying with her father being a business man/tradesman and coming to the city in order to make a better life for his wife. Obviously moving to the city isn't a common desire for DW, so he might've been lucky in finding a woman who would love him and move to the city with him. I unno quite yet. So far I'd had it in my head that she lived in Old Gridania with her family (I'll be changing it to whatever the housing area is called), but for the entirety of her life she's only known prejudice from her Wildwood cousins. From the Hyur and Miqo'te it wouldn't have been as severe, just basic amounts of distrust or odd looks. The Wildwood, being that they seems to hold disdain for any race besides their own, it would be the more severe treatment. Verbal abuse, bullying as a child, perhaps "young punks" throwing things at her. This might sound a little silly for a DW, but I wanted to have my character grow out of being a naive little girl who loves everyone/thing into a woman who pursues her gifts in the healing arts and treats strangers with respectful civility. As a Conjurer/WHM she'll be very business-like when she's doing her job, and wont tolerate any tomfoolery. She's a healer, and it would be against her personality/job to a large degree if she wasn't balanced in her treatment of others. I might even have her cruise somewhere in the middle personality wise to put emphasis on the "balance of nature" that I encountered during the CNJ quests. Clanwise... I have zero idea tbh . I might just be lazy and see what other clans are settled in the Twelveswood. Maybe one of you fiiiiine clan creators wouldn't mind Myavar's parents being from yours (or maybe two different ones). Like, alienated for their more "modern" views of the WW and other races.
