  1. Just a short update, I finally received world from my detailer today, and my instructor duty request was denied. So I will be going on deployment early next year in February, and will unable to play FFXIV for most of the year. What this means is I will likely not be in game very much over the next few months as I find it hard to play MMO's immediately before deploying. But I will try and keep K'mana and Torvhan semi-active through forum RP...for at least as long as I'm able to access this site, sometime internet bandwidth with drops in certain areas. On a positive note I also recieved the good news that I made Petty Officer First Class this cycle so over all the day evened itself out. Hope to see everyone around the forums and maybe in game in mid-december when I get back to port.
  2. Torvhan winced slightly when K'luha chided her daughter, he knew from experience how embarrassing that could be when it happened in public. K'luha shifted gears quickly and Torvhan listened intently as the woman spoke, making a mental note of each question she fired at him. As soon as she finished the lone male in their party spoke. Torvhan thought for a moment before answering. "I am afraid I can offer you no apology at this time as I do not understand the nature of the insult, perhaps due to my lack of understanding of your ways. However I assure you I meant no insult or disrespect towards your tribe when I brought my idea to the Headmaster." Torvhan turned back towards K'luha, "As for why I brought the idea up, following the Calamity myself and other orphans of Ul'dah learned that you have to work together when you find your home can no longer support you. I carry that lesson forward with me. But perhaps my original idea was not fully conveyed, the Headmaster mentioned my idea was cold at one point, that it would be 'using' your tribe. I do not see it as such, but perhaps this flavored the offer be brought forth. What I proposed was a mutual alliance. The Garden has ample space but is largely populated by students, and though a large number of our staff are expert combatants the students are less so. With the Garlean army becoming more active, Eorzea is becoming a more dangerous place, and I believe both our Garden and your Tribe would be vulnerable, it is possible the Garleans could ignore both the Garden and your tribe but I dislike leaving such things to chance." "But there is more that just defense, I know that your tribe is known for it's expert hunters, and the lands of Thanalan are more bountiful than those of the desert it is possiable you would have surplus from your hunts which the Garden might trade for, to decrease our own costs in food expenses. The are also many skills we might teach each other, this is a school at the end of the day." "For where you would relocate to, the original plan was for the tribe to settle in the Quad, but if that is too close to the Garden for your tribe's comfort, perhaps further outside might be looked into, but I am unsure of how far the Garden's lands stretch. As for hunting though there are settlements in Thanalan, there are no restrictions on hunting such as the spirits of the Black Shroud impose. Your movements outside would not be restricted and when your tribe is ready to leave no one will stop you from moving to your new home. But access to areas inside the Garden would be up to the headmasters discretion." "I am young and perhaps idealistic, but I merely see an opportunity in which friends can assist one another." With that he clamped his mouth shut, he was probably already rambling and he thought it best to wait for their replies before trying to speak further.
  3. Ya, ya I know Torvhan is starting another discussion thread  I can't help it there is nothing else to do out to sea but think! So I've thought about this alot especially in K'mana's Rps with K'luha it what are the religious views of the tribe over all about Azeyma, spirits and the duties of a shaman. Also what are tribe members personal views on these things, important NPC's included K'deiki's and the other elder's views as well as K'piru's would have influenced K'mana's own views. From my own point of view right now I'm seeing K'ailia as a Shaman of the land of sorts possibly the true heir of K'piru's shaman teachings. With her conjurer training and her greater ability to communicate with the spirits I think she'll eventually fill the more traditional roles of a shaman. Such as letting the tribe know if we pissed off the spirits of the lands we live in. ((Feel welcome to correct me if I'm wrong K'ailia but as "shaman's in training" I see it that both K'ailia and K'mana have their own strengths towards the shaman's duties)) For K'mana I don't think she'll ever be as in tuned as K'ailia towards spirit of the land, but more in touch with the spirits of our ancestors. With her love of the tribes history and her seeking the missing members. I view her feeling's in my threads as pushes from our spirits of our ancestors. The gather and maintain the history of the tribe and to strength and repair the bonds of the family or at least find them so K'ailia can pull out the big shaman lifting. I see K'mana as more of a background force to K'ailia's frontal movements. There is little about the duties of the shaman in the wiki's but as we don't seem to have one since K'piru left its hard to judge how the tribe would view them. OR do we have one and I just don't know who it is .
  4. K'mana sighed inwardly and tried to remain calm, she wanted to argue with K'luha but getting emotional would do little when K'luha was in one of her moods. K'mana looked her sister in the eyes and tried to steadfast agianst the storm. "K'luha, I'm home and safe...if a little worse for wear. Perhaps it would have ended more favorably if I had convinced you to come with me, but I did not wish the tribe to think us both missing. You say it was childish and rash decision. But I fully understood the repercussions of failing my trial. You may not believe in the guidance of the spirits but both K'ailia and I were training with K'piru our tribe's shaman. There is no doubt in my mind they guided me truly in my 'youthful adventure.' As for K'rei I would consider no one who fought along side me in battle and travelled the sands along side me as a 'stranger.' She is a distant sister who lost her own tribe much as we lost much of ours during the Fall." K'mana lowered her eyes, "I am sorry that my actions caused you to worry, but I love you and the tribe and I would never abandon either. But we were taught to listen to our feelings and I do not believe it coincidence that I discovered what I did. I will accept whatever punishment you and the elders deem fit after, but I do not regret taking action." K'mana raised her eyes once more. "Lets go find out what the elders plan to do about the Amalj'aa."
  5. This has been bugging me every time we bring up the topic, it seems like everyone has a different view on how severe the issue is. I would have thought that if it was as severe as: "we need every possible hunter out there or we'll starve" then the meeting would have gone alot more towards getting the heck out of the Sagolii. As I saw it there is a lack of resources in the desert and even if we throw more hunters at the issue it won't increase the bounty appreciably. When you look at the numbers a vast majority of the tribe are hunting age females and a few males. We have a very small non-combatant population currently and the hunters themselves being active adults hare likely the biggest eaters. So I think it would be possible to spare a few (much like the scouting party) because it also means less mouths to feed, and a decreased change of a hunting party returning empty handed. I personally dislike brushing the missing aside (even if their players have left) cause it either requires meta-game breaking immersion or leads me to believe the tribe is heartless. "Oh well K'raqi got kidnapped, well that sucks nothing we can do about it." And I know K'luha is one of the least heartless members we have.
  6. Torvhan listened as K'ailia introduced the members of her tribe. His mind raced through the lines of discussion he had rehearsed many times since he had come up with the idea. But he quickly moved to speak; now was the time for action. "It is a pleasure to meet some of your K'ailia's family." He turned to address K'ailia's mother, he was not positive but what little he knew of K'ailia's tribe its likely K'luha would be the leader of the small group."Ma'am, I have heard your tribe has reservations about the idea for your tribe to stay here at the Garden with us. If you have any questions; I would be happy to answer them. I proposed the idea to the Headmaster, and would be in charge of organizing the effort should you choose to stay with us."
  7. Concerning K'raqi Hmm thats an interesting idea. Wish I had skype right now: so do you know if any of his brood was with him when he went missing or were they all with the tribe? It was suggested earlier that a few of the eldest might be staying with him in ul'dah why he recovered. Also do we think the tribe just learned about this or have we had a search party out investigating ((plenty of NPC's to "use")) I personally think the second would be best especially considering how many people have been to Ul'dah recently, it seems unlikey that it took us this long to find out. If you decide anything on skype you should drop the skype discussion off.
  8. ((OOC Welcome)) (( *Invokes Roleplaying fluid timeline*: I realize the Hipparion Tribe scouting party has not reached Ul'dah Garden yet, but I'm unable to log in for the next month while underway, and would really like the chance for Torvhan to speak with the scouts, SO I'm starting thread on forums. )) (( Taking some liberties here but I'll placing the setting as thus K'ailia, K'luha, K'ile, and K'haali are walking around the Garden as K'ailia shows them around, Torvhan spots them and introduces himself, This can be placed before or after the party meets with Ventus which I know they are planning on )) Torvhan walked the halls of the Garden on a bright lit morning lost in thought. At 20 years, Torvhan was a well-built young man, clean shaven with short brown hair cut close and trimed in military fashion. He wore the bright red uniform that announced his rank among those of the Garden's students. Though young and bright eyed he moved with the grace and power of a experienced fighter, years of training and combat in the Coliseum showed as he trans-versed the hallways. He had spoken a couple times with K'ailia over the Garden's linkshell, and knew that the Hipparion Tribe's scouting party was coming to examine the Garden sometime in the future, but he hadn't heard from her recently. He thought about what she had mentioned about the results of their tribal meeting. He knew they were right about some of their suspicions, and he wished the chance to explain exactly why and what he originally planned. But should they choose to decline the offer or if they found another place to settle he wondered if there was anything he could do. Though the tribes situation was vastly difference he couldn't help be reminded of when the Calamity took the homes and parents of so many orphans in Ul'dah. Working together the orphans had survived but Torvhan constantly sought ways to help the orphanages and other organizations that seek to help. Torvhan respected Ventus's vision, while others might think he was taking advantage of orphans to turn them in to soldiers for his EXiLEs, he doubted any of those people had been orphans themselves lost and homeless. But he often saw others taking advantage of orphans in such ways, so he found himself training among this Garden watching its leader from the ranks, learning; but also keeping mindful of the risks to the orphans here should Ventus choose to take advantage of the situation. Lost in his own thoughts Torvhan missed the sound of K'ailia's voice carrying around the corner of the hallway. As they both rounded at the same time K'ailia was also distracted, speaking to the group she guided and they colliding with one another crashing to the floor. Torvhan was stunned for a half second but recovered quickly jumping to his feet and proffering her a hand up. "Sorry about that K'ailia, I should have been paying more attention to my surroundings." As he helped K'ailia back to her feet he noticed her companions and repectfully introduced himself. "I'm Torvhan Durant, a student here." EDIT: DING! Post #100
  9. Hey every one! So I've been meaning to do this for awhile, but haven't quite found the time until now. Not sure how many of the tribe members access the linkshell page to check the thread listing but I wanted to make it even easier to keep track of the the goings on of the tribe. So Today is the first entry in my "semi"-weekly digest (Navy allowing me time ) Starting off probably some oldish news for most but we have concluded discussion of the tribes fate and where to go from here. Drop on by the thread to read up on what you missed! Refugees under the Sun {TL;DR} We are sending a scouting party to investigate Ul'dah Garden and other possible solutions, tribe will reconvene when they return. Following up the Scouting party has been BUSY. K'ile, K'luha, and K'ailia have been typing it up in game and dropped us some logs to keep us in the know. Scenes with K'ile, K'luha, and K'ailia A meeting of mother and daughter {TL;DR} I got nothing, haven't managed to read through it myself yet. Though I will, only thing that would make it better if I could get a better grasp on the passing of time between the posts, and when exactly the second thread occurs. Clover and K'nahli are joined by Twin in another thread that is likely placed prior to the tribal meeting or before the scouting party left. K'yohko Nunh {TL;DR} K'mih's mom thinks she should start making babies => RP happens Edit: Hopefully no one noticed that first mistake: Also SANDWORMS. K'haali dropped us a tiny slice of life on the road at Balmung Bulletin Board started by our own Naunet. And last but hopefully not least I started a new thread today to organize the current comings and goings of the family player characters and NPC's alike. Please drop in with your character's status or to discuss various matters such as the family tree. Family Matters [A Hipparion Tribe Discussion Thread]
  10. As the tribe grows people have mentioned it has been increasingly difficult to keep track of the current status of family members. The purpose of this thread is threefold: One: To create a listing of tribe member's locations and a brief status as a one-stop shop, so that players can keep up to date with in character knowledge they would likely know or to satisfy curious minds. Two: A place for players to post updates and status changes that affect their character. (Traveling outside the tribe, major injuries, deaths, or anything else you would like the tribe to know.) Three: A place to discuss (or post important Skype discussions) changes to the family tree or status of an NPC. These can include: new members and deciding where to place them (on the family tree) or skype chats - such as when we decided K'yohko was in fact NOT dead *wink* One final note discussion here should focus on present day events and statuses. Another thread will be created in the future to focus on greater organization of the tribes history. PS: Our keepers are welcome to post as well, although I personally don't have much information to start off with. Main Camp Member Listing Missing Tribe member listing Player Characters
  11. K'rei watched K'ile carefully as he replied to K'yohko. Over the meeting she had been reforming her opinion of him. So much pride, that one, she understood K'haali's reasoning and K'luha's distrust of the outsiders. Their tribe had little interaction with the outside world. But K'ile rejected the very thought of receiving help. She winced as the next two girls comments, Pride was a difficult beast she knew her self and pushing to hard could cause the man to brace himself. Unknowing to him she watched his eyes carefully and could almost see him restrain himself from speaking out in aggravation. Her opinion of him went up several notches. Maybe he wasn't all boy inside after all. K'rei stood up and took a slow breath, "Well spoke K'ile," she restrained herself from commenting on his passive aggressive shot at K'ailia as the girls had done much the same in their own comments. "This maybe a repetition of sorts but I also feel I must point out we seem to have forgotten K'haali's idea by the wayside. I think K'luha should lead the efforts to look into both options. She is our most experienced trader and she would have much she could teach K'haali about trade in Ul'dah; and she updoubtly would like to speak with Ventus and see this academy that K'ailia attends. It goes with out saying that the K'ailia and K'haali would like to explore both their ideas further, and K'ile I agree with you, who better to judge this man and his garden but the strongest opponent to the idea of accepting his help." "If perfer his help not be given unconditionally, perhaps you could seek a more beneficial agreement with him, one which does not place us in his debt." K'rei turned to K'haali "I think you and K'luha should look into the logistics of your idea, moving would be relatively easy comparatively speaking to establishing a new business, and although I fear the Ul'dah market would swallow us, should you two succeed the profit to the tribe could be great." "I have no problem with seeking another home, but Eorzea is vast and dangerous and the more people we send afar alone the more open we are to attack. This is why I felt this offer might prove as a beneficial stop gap. Worry not about the food issue while you are looking though, remember that the hunters must eat as well and a few less mouths to feed would lessen the burden, not increase it." "Go with open minds to all the options though, and a point not brought up its true we are surviving for the moment, however think on how many years has it been since we welcomed a new little one?" K'rei looked directly at K'ile "If you were to find a place for us where we would be safe and could raise new little ones 'I' would be impressed." With that she turned and left the circle not quite sure what brought on the last part, and she wasn't going to look back to see the results.
  12. K'rei looked around and listened, surprised and bemused at the scene which unfolded before her. The very same people who were berating the young were the ones acting immature themselves. She watched K'luha and K'ailia walk away and sighed inwardly. The day had hardly begun and the important part was about to begin. Opening statements made; it was now time for the discussion to actually begin. She stood up once more and stepped into the circle. "Well, thats a thing" She chirped quickly in attempt to lighten darkening moods. "Before I begin I'd like to remind us why we are here. To offer ideas and our experiences up together as whole to the elders and to gauge the general inclination of our tribe toward those ideas. So that we can decide on the best course to take, I expect the discussion to become heated but we are all family and should stay on topic of the merits of these ideas. From what I have seen is that the ideas of the "young" are being looked down upon. But both K'haali and K'ailia are worthy of our highest praises. While young these two girls have not only sought out ways out of our situation, but also did the legwork behind them in an effort to bring them forth. If you seek to support one of their ideas or wish to offer up your own; support it with logic and your own experiences, not with anger and name calling." "To start off on the subject of the bounty of the desert, it is true that there may still be prey to seek, but we are not the only tribe in the Sagolii, the Tribe of the Drake holds one to some of the best hunting grounds here. The desert is one of the harshest environments in Eorzea, and we have done well to adapt to it. However to say that we are not trying hard enough would be folly. Our hunting parties are out for longer and longer, and return with less each time, that is why we are here. But think not only on us, but on our environment as well. As we seek to hunt more and more to survive ourselves we are slowly depleting the bounty of our fair home, and it is slow to recover. If we are not careful we could not only put ourselves in danger but also the creatures we hunt. Our ancestors did adapt and stayed strong, but remember when the Ice made the land barren and prey became sparse they left their home and sought out new prey in new places. We settled here, but the tribes settled all over Eorzea, my own tribe lived upon the lands of La Noscea, our sisters of the moon, largely settled the Black Shroud. There would be danger in moving, Yes, but there is also danger here. It is a part of our lives. I think we should find a new place to call our own; maybe one day when the desert has recovered from the calamity and from our presence maybe we can return." "What this Ventus offers us is a temporary solution; a place to lay our heads while we seek a new place and new prey. But I see a distrust of 'outsiders,' not a mistrust borne of experience, but a fear based in lack of understanding. Not everyone is out to get us, there are evil men that is true, but even a member of the tribe can become twisted and cruel. As there is evil there is also good, but those are extremes. Most of the outside world are people just trying to make their own way to survive much like we do. Farmers, hunters, merchants; their are many ways they work together to survive. K'rei looks at K'ile, "you say you don't wish to accept help from outsiders. But while it is true we have traded small amounts for things we do not have or could not make, we have not entered into the market as K'haali's idea would bring us. I spoke earlier of merchants; In Ul'dah good and evil are shallow points, they exist for profit. To attempt to trade for our food for the right to survive would put us fully at their mercy. I spent a good deal of time there after I lost my tribe. Before the Amalj'aa found caught me outside the city. The distribution of wealth there is staggering and I had never seen the likes of such before. Elsewhere such an idea might be more promising, but Ul'dah is a city which grew rich on the trade of such minerals that they harvested from the desert and Thanalan, and they have been miners and traders of these goods for many generations. We would enter such a market at a great disadvantage." "What Ventus's offer has in advantage to this is he is offering us a place to stay, I doubt he plans to feed us all, as such would have new land to hunt in a more bountiful area of Thanalan without worrying about such things as being stepping on people's toes about where we have settled our new camp. Also remember that this is an academy, I'm sure they have guards but I doubt they have to manpower to stop a tribe of warriors from leaving when we choose to leave, as I said earlier I do not know why he made us this offer and I expect several of us would like to speak with him and see what he has to offer should we choose to look into this path. But I mentioned two possibilities earlier." "One he seeks to expand his school, it is possible some of our younglings might like to enroll if we stay there for an extended period of time. But I don't see how this could be an entirely bad thing, this school has taught K'ailia many things we could not, and these skill will most likely benefit the tribe. Are we worried that we will lose our younglings to this man and they won't return? I don't see that happening with K'ailia I see a young woman who burns with desire to save the tribe she loves, and is using the skills and resources she has to make it happen. " "Two he seeks to use us as a safety measure to guard his school from external threats. Unless he's at war with a specific group, or he's managed to incite the Amallj'aa I can hardly see this being a large issue. All of Eorzea is at war, and the Amalj'aa are an issue even here. What harm would their being in defending his school? If we were to live there it would be our home as well, and we would only be bolstered and a harder target to strike with his forces added to ours. I doubt we would have another attack there such as the one we had four years ago." "I'm sure others of you have opinions and experiences with the outside world to offer the elders. Do not be shy, now is the time to speak and make your voice heard." K'rei walks calmly back to her seat to watch the next speaker.
  13. Oh lol I thought it was another ff8 / garden thing like the network that I couldn't rememeber.

    The Echo

So I spent the last few hours on the lore forums looking for some answers for you. To add to Celeste's statement about Raya-O-Senna recognizing the player, I remember reading once that "The Midlander's" second party recognized him from the time he helped their quest in the Echo. I'll dig some more thru our forums it may have been brought up in the past but for certain echo events such as the ones "The Midlander" took place. You not only see the past but interact with it. People will recognize you, and you actually fight but nothing you do will actually change the outcome. Silly Temporal Paradoxes. For information on "The Midlander" (the guy from the CG's) I dug up these: Gamerescape: Opening Cinematic CG Midlander Thread: Post #226 by Fernehalwes CG Midlander Thread: Post #227 by Fernehalwes But those Echo events are slightly different from the memories digging we typically do in 2.0. Not really an edit because I haven't posted yet but SUCCESS: Interresting Explination of the Lore...Post #6 by Rhostel Finally tracked down on of the old lore threads I remember that mentioned the party remembering the CG midlander. Rhostel also mentions Minfilia in 1.0 also remembers you using the Echo during a quest. For my own 2cents, with nothing to support it officially wise: All the people who brought up as remembering you all likely have the Echo themselves. As most "Adventures" do and I'm sure Raya-O-Senna likely does. On the flipside when you first experience the Scion's memories such as Thancred at the begining of the game he only seems to respond to the event when you mention you where seeing his memories. But what this leads me to probably roll with until we get new info is actual trips to the past people will recognize you as having been there. But if your memory diving its probably based on the persons own Echo sense, in such that some Echo users will be able to detect you in their memories while some may not.
  15. What is the Grid? Preliminary google searches turned up nothing, about to manually dig through the final fantasy 8 wikis. Keep thinking it would be nice to reply 8 again to get a better idea of how everything looked, searching up the internet doesn't always provide the info I'm looking for.
  16. ((Don't wait up for K'mana she's in Gridania at the time of the meeting))
  17. From what I can see you have two pages. (1) http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Sil%27tel_Ferima (2) http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=User:Sil%27tel_Ferima The second is your user page, also the one you added the player catergory tag to. If you edit the first one and add the tag it should work, then just remove the tag from your user page. Most people leave the user page blank though I've seen a few who use the #REDIRECT tag to redirect the user page to their main characters wiki page. I would just make sure not to DELETE the user page, everyone has one and I'm not sure if it would affect your account.
  18. K'mana wandered the streets of Ul'dah mulling over the problem of traveling to Gridania. Once she had arrived in the city, she had sought out information on the trip and realized that it would take her much longer to reach their by land than it normally took her when she traveled to Limsa Lominsa by ship. She knew when she started that she would be in Gridania for awhile, but she hadn't realized how long it would merely take her to get there. She cursed silently to her self as yet another city goer jumped as she walked by, they were so accursed loud they never noticed her until she passed by. The whole city was like this, the clank of armor or the clack of hard soles on the ground, the city bustled with a noise she was unaccustomed. It was then she had the idea...normally she would have never considered actually doing it but with the issues her tribe was having she wished to minimize her time away if she could help it, and she told herself its not like it would hurt anyone. So she set off to prepare. Later that evening, K'mana fell in to the harmony that was the hunt. Each guardsman and sultansworn were her prey. She watched from the shadows the setting sun cast upon the tall building of the grand city, noting their movements and paths. After an hour or so she over heard of an airship bound for Gridania. As the ship readied itself for departure and the guards busied themselves checking the passengers aboard, she silently slipped passed and on to the airship. She decended quickly into the innards of the ship, listening at each door for signs of movement. Opening several quietly as she searched, after several room she found what she sought, and slipped into the large room filled with luggage and other goods, she nimbly climbed one of the larger boxes and slid off and behind it hiding herself from view of the door. The trip was uneventful K'mana hid herself throughout the trip using her traveling rations and sleeping lightly, the type of waking rest honed through years of camping in the desert, always weary that your prey could be hunting you. The airship pulled into Gridania, and K'mana slipped off the ship in the crowd of passengers. She marveled at the greenery as she skylarked and walked through the wide paths of the city. It took her awhile to figure out where she should head, many of the people in Gridania seemed cold and surly. But she eventually learned of the Bentbranch stables from the proprietress of the Carline Canopy. The trip to the stables was short and she spent most of her day at the stables speaking with the workers and the head wrangler Keitha, helping them with small mundane tasks, having been raised around the tribes chocobos she knew quite a bit about caring for them but its hard to trust a random outsider to more skilled tasks. At the end of the day she headed back into Gridania and booked a room at the inn, and spent the night thinking of how she could prove to Keitha that she could be trusted with the care of one of her chocobos. She realized that in her time training under K'piru she had learned a great deal about herbs and caring for members of the tribe but very little on ails or injuries of their chocobos. She slept soundly that night deciding she would seek out an apothecary in the morning. The next morning K'mana spoke with Miounne in the morning and was directed to a local apothecary by the name of Taijha. So it was that she ended up standing on the steps of the small wooden building. She straightened her clothes once and took a deep breath, and then softly rapped her knuckles on the door.
  19. I've had groups like that, thankfully for the longest time when I was in highschool I played Shadowrun with my uncle's friends from App State University. We alternated DM'ing so we tended to bounce ideas of of each other. Before I could suggest anything I have some questions which pertain to the situation. Is she a seeker or a keeper? How old was she when her parents died? How long ago did her parents die? Where are her parents from? Were they tribal or city miqo'te? Where do the farmers live? Think that should do it most of that would server to narrow down the infinite number of possibilities. Also do you have any thoughts on how you wanted to have this affect your character the results of such an incident are usually equally important as the event it self.
  20. Well I wouldn't doubt most people realize why the mechanic was changed to what it is, though I admit I am surprised that travel is such a gil sink....course being on of the only gil sinks at the moment beside low level mats/equipment it probably has its work cut out for it. Most people on the lore forums imagine simply that adventures have sufficent anima to teleport all over the place with out concern now, thus the removal of the system. Of course whether characters are run as such is always up to the player. I do like that they are taking the time to explain such features to us though, and the loss of the more immersive systems such as this is sadly just the name of the beast now a days. But these sacrifices bring us a bigger population and will help keep the development team working. I do wish they'd make a happy medium for travel though, it would be nice to have actual running airships/boats and such. I know why we don't there isn't simply any land between those areas, hopefully its something we'll see in the future.
  21. Good Evening fellow denizens of Eorzea, I would like to hold a poll to gauge interest in an idea I'm "stealing." The goal would to be to start a Q&A thread/series of threads here on the RPC to gather a number of questions per week, and obtain try to get official responses from the lore forums. Much like where the idea came from if we had willing Japanese translators we might also be able to translate the questions and post them in the Japanese Lore forums. Idea came from For the Record an awesome site I check for World of Tanks news.
  22. I agree, though I expect there are times I will use the Aetherytes for travel between city-states the distances I'm going with are quite far, at least for travel on foot. K'mana will likely be travelling quite frequently and I can't really say she would have the monetary support considering her tribes issues, if I had that money I'd be buying food
  23. Hey been searching the internet for more information on travel times/distances and such to no avail. However I found an interesting tidbit recently posted in the lore forums. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/111277-An-aether-what?p=1473589 Now if only K'mana had the money to pay those taxes.
  24. *Free Bump!* G'morning, My character K'mana would be interested in hiring your clan to search for several missing persons (all other players). How much would a project like this run IC? Love the idea by the way, it jumped out at me on the Linkshell page, when I was browsing thinking about hiring bounty hunters to find my missing persons
