  1. ((Ya know when I read D'aijeen's wiki and originally heard about her "past" I was under the impression she was just creeping everyone out, didn't realize she was blowing everything up as well, guess she'll need to pick up the Demolitionist class at some point.))
  2. Well, I haven't seen much on the Keeper side of our tribe, but they do exist, but one of the people who was running the keeper side of the house had real life intercede. I need to track down the other players on the keeper side but we could probably work you into that side of the tribe. (If you want) The two sides don't currently interact but that is merely because the seekers don't realize they are related to a group of keepers, I'm still working on tracking that particular RP line down, so that we can tie in the two sides tribal RP. On another note I am sad that the keepers side of the house seems quieter I'm not sure exactly why that is, my own Miqo'te was going to be a Keeper, but I changed my idea when I saw the Hipparion Tribe threads back in beta. But however the overall seeker tribe views the keepers is one thing, my character feels that blood is stronger than silly "tribal differences" and if she knew the keepers existed would be bugging them endlessly on their tribal stories. As it stands I know that Naunet is still working on the revised Keeper family tree, and I have dug through all the Keepers wiki's and added what Keeper tribal events I found there to my Timeline. If you would like shoot me a PM with your skype and I can add you to the our tribes skype and we can work out any ideas.
  3. Good Evening, First off, I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience, and I'm sure RPC doesn't want to seem cold and closed. I think is some of the issue might just be because the RPC exploded in size, theirs a lot going on and you might have to keep pushing until you find a good place. I've had quite a few of my ideas seem to fail, and many of my RP threads didn't go anywhere until I went out and asked people in my linkshell to join my threads. That's my first piece of advice is to seek out people in your linkshell or on the forums and ask them to join you sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't (or somebody hasn't been on the forums recently.) You could also find a linkshell that uses something like skype for OOC chat, I think thats why the Hipparion Tribe is so active is we are always just bringing up random stuff whether pertaining to RP or not, and as people become more comfortable around each other they tend to talk more. I can't say much for in game roleplaying much I really haven't been involved in much random RP, but most of it was planned out of game, or I specifically set up meetings with people. On the bookish characters I guess it depends, I would decribe K'mana as bookish her main love being history of her tribe but being a huntress in her tribe means that she must have certain skills. But her love of history and her tribe is what I use to drive her storyline, currently involving finding missing members of her tribe, but even then I've only recieved one "clue"(reply) to my article, so far even in our active linkshell, but I just keep pushing it along. Looking at your ideas something such as chocobo thieves would be something that would affect the Hipparion Tribe, if you still looking to persue something like that. I don't know much about your characters history, so I can't say if you'd like to be a part of the tribe but if you do I'm sure naunet could find you a spot in the Keeper branch. We'd might have to wait a week or so to see where the Tribe might be moving to before we set something in motion like chocobo thieves, but the tribe does use them for their hunting, and I think we'd be very upset if someone was making off with them.
  4. LOL, I did say I'm not worried, seriously. I was just making a joke about the first meeting. I have lots of faith in the RPC and where everything is going. I've also been following the new master linkshell and the leaders forums, mostly cause I spend a lot of time on the forums and I like to look at where things are heading. On that note: I am not currently an officer in either of my linkshells or free company, just a very active forum member (and skype.) Totally need to shift some of my forum time to actually playing in game lol. So I will not be participating in the those discussions for now, unless I'm asked to attend because some one is busy. Unfortunately right now I am still on a ship, and the NAVY says when I will be around so I'm not really ready to look at stepping up in the ranks. I made this thread because I thought that like myself, others would enjoy getting in touch with other members of the group 2 for smaller events or personal story lines that would not require the greater organization of our leaders. Like I said, I am not worried; and I had planned on making this thread even if all the leaders had made it to the meeting and starting coordinating like they are now. I just felt a forum thread would be best for the members of group 2 due to the limitations on Linkshell size I don't know if we could fit every single person in group 2 in to a linkshell, like the leadership is doing on a smaller scale.
  5. I'm not worried, was just trying to poke fun. Honestly even outside of Group 2 a huge number of link shells just didn't manage to get the word. But aftermath of that is it looks like a lot of people know about the meetings and the leaders link shell forums now. So hopefully the next meeting will go better. Right here I'm just trying to do my own part and get in on some of the fun, undoubtedly as we move foward the linkshell leaders will be working together on larger events, but here I'd like to focus on the personal level. A place to let the members of our 6 linkshells (currently) to talk and meet the people from the other linkshells, at least on the forums. Well I have read one of Naunet's posts on CRA rp. In general the discussion between some of those characters made my brain fry out that day. Some of it probably had to do with I had no idea about the event that they were discussing. I came out of it though, thinking Illira was a very intelligent and very dangerous woman.
  6. K'mana stretched as she looked around her tent, examining this in that insuring that she had packed everything she needed. She sighed, K'luha was not happy when she had heard K'mana was leaving on another trip, but her older sister relented when K'mana had brought up her arguments. There were no adult chocobos of age in the camp for K'mana to call her own, so she intended to travel to Gridania and their chocobo ranches to seek one there. She grabbed her pack and left her tent. Marching steadily out of camp, K'rei was out on a hunt, and she said spoken to the other women several days before she broached the subject with K'luha. She made her rounds earlier this morning and said her farewells and she had many malms left to travel. As she walked she thought about the tribe and her last stay. It had been nice being home and seeing K'ailia return. Though it relaxing to be among her family once more the thought there was more she could do for her tribe elsewhere had weighed on her mind her entire stay. She had learned many skills at Melvaan's Gate, and she had begun her search for the missing of members of her tribe right before she had left to return to her Tribe. She smiled remembering the many hours she had spent writing and rewriting the article and reviewing her notes on the tribe's history before finally submitting the article. She hoped she would receive at least a few clues on where to start her searches. When she arrived in Gridania she planned to send a message to Melvaan's Gate inquiring if they had received any replys to her article. K'mana looked over the dunes of the desert, and wondered if K'ailia would be able to convince the tribe they needed move from now desolate sands of the Sagolii. She wished she good help the girl more, but also felt that K'ailia would pull through. Their meeting at the Sagolii Gate had shown her that K'ailia had that spark that would help rally her people behind her. It gave K'mana the comfort of mind, so that she could continue to help her tribe from behind the scenes and expand her circle of allies as she continued to search for those that had wandered away. She continued to walk in silence, she would likely reach Ul'dah before nightfall the tribe was camped farther north than usual. When she reached Ul'dah she would likely need to find lodging before searching for a caravan heading north towards the Black Shroud.
  7. This should be CANON 'nuff said. Note: It was also extremely funny, and indicative of adventures. My own groups are like that if its not nailed down and isn't trash they'll take it. Honestly if its value is high enough they will spend the time to remove it from the floor.
  8. Well the first linkshell leaders meeting past and our leaders had their chance to talk [light hearted jab]Okay so most of Group 2 didn't manage to make it[/light hearted jab] But I had this idea before the meeting when I saw the grouping. That the we the random members should talk too. Just an informal thread where we can introduce ourselves our goals, story ideas we might need people for, and/or ideas our leaders could use for future. If you haven't read through the Leaders linkshell threads group 2 is currently made up of the following linkshells. Group 2-- Hipparion Tribe Mysterium, the Ivory Tower Commerce Regulation Agency Unsung Heroes Ul'dah Garden Remnants of Hope A little about me: I play have characters in two of the linkshells and was super excited when I saw the list. I know the Hipparion Tribe has members in Ul'dah Garden and the CRA, and I've read about a few of the other linkshells. I spend almost as much time on the RPC forums as I do in game, and as such outside of linkshell events most of my RP is on the forums currently and I'm still working on leveling both my characters main battle classes (Gla 22 and Acn 31.) My Characters
  9. Support classes aren't half baked healers that is not the idea. But with our party limits they would likely fall in the role the healer fills in small parties, healers and tanks are always needed for groups and its unlikely for a support class to fill a DPS role unless we are talking about just having a few support abilities like the bard. Support classes often have very little damage as well, if we are talking about creating a pure support class which could fill the the Role class of a healer. I agree if they had actual damage then yes they shouldn't be able to cover the "gap of healing" as well. In larger groups I couldn't see two support being able to work as effectively although many support classes reduce damage taken in a smaller group (4) such that having a healer as support would not be required, damage is still taken. In large group content 8-24 a Combination of healing and support or pure healing as normal would be preferable. The support classes would reduce the damage taken by the party to a level the fewer healers they would have. Like I said I base my ideas from City of Heroes one of the few games I've seen succeed in changing the Triad slightly. Healers were part of the defender(support) archetype, being their shared goal is to keep the party alive. Guild Wars 2 bucked the trend by giving everyone healing, and honestly the dungeons I ran were just chaotic and I did not enjoy them as much as traditional systems or CoH. I love healers and play them myself when I'm not tanking but honestly their is never enough healers and tanks, the populations will always be heavy skewed towards DPS. As they increase the number of classes we will likely see a few more tanks and healers or pure support classes. I'm not saying lets create a support class that over powered or all around better than our current healers. Its just something different that instead of healing keeps the party alive in another way. I could see them only "replacing" healers in small group content (4) because what other role would they fulfill? A pure support class would have very little damage just like a traditional healer, and would be unable to fulfill the role of a DPS. In larger groups they would be augmenting the healers just as they normally do.
  10. When I signed up for the 60day recurring subscription the veteran rewards automatically were applied when the payment was processed, if you still have any free time, such as from activating your game later (your 30 free days) then your rewards will arrive in your mailbox after your free time expires.
  11. Though city of heroes did have larger party sizes the missions could be attacked by any size group and the content scaled what it showed though is that healers are not required if the damage is dealt with other ways, some defenders had small or focused heals if their type of support might have needed it but Force Field defenders did not need heals, why do you need them if your party hardly takes any damage. And really a full support class in any game should be built around being able to substitute as a healer in a dungeon, if their role is damage mitigation. In larger content say 8 mans their abilities should be able to reduce the healing load so that a single healer could handle the heals. On the other had defenders such as Kinetics whose job was to reduce enemy attack power and buff player attack power, had a Heal which healed the melee around an enemy, because their damage mitigation was not as high as say force fields. Now pure controllers much like the "Enchanter class" from Log Horizon appears; were slightly different had could not always be substituted for the healer like a defender could, it really depended on the content. But their job is to lock enemies down entirely and often only 1 or 2 enemies would be able to attack effectively in a group. I don't know if controllers types would work well in this game if only because control abilities are spread out among classes and enemy groups are smaller than they were in City of Heroes, the need for more control on groups is not really necessary. But built well with those ideas in mind a support class could easily take the place of a healer in smaller content.
  12. Here's hoping some of the other witches get some spotlight, not that I don't enjoy the "main" group after two seasons and the movie, I'm not sure where there is to go, Strike Witches doesn't seem like the kind of anime which would "advance" the relationships it hints at so much. There is a lot of good anime this season but my favorite surprises would have to be Outbreak Company and Log Horizon.
  13. I think the need for a healer is so core that when a game is built with support classes that can "fill" the role people ignore them, City of Heroes suffered from this at the beginning before people realized what Defenders could do, each varied in use and some had minor heals (except empath your typical heals) but they debuffs and buffs were significant enough that you did not NEED a healer outside of the defenders own abilities. DARK nerfed enemy accuracy into nothing while Kinetics bebuffed enemy attack and endurance and gave it to their party. Something in the realms of defenders or even controllers would be nice to see in this game, but their missions would have to be built accordingly, I agree controllers had issues soloing content to word of the day being SLOW. You never took much damage to solo content, but the small dots meant it took ages to actually kill the enemy. I think the Final Fantasy lore is filled with support caster types. Off the top of my head Time Mages (I doubt we'll ever see these, but one can hope.) But many games are so stuck on the idea of the Trinity that they never experiment with the other options.
  14. For the brass blades I believe their is a uniform available, though I don't have pictures of it but I know the person who would. Shoot Ildur a PM his character K'airos is a member of the brass blades and he is only a few pieces away from being complete. Hope this is helpful.

  16. ((Occurs the morning after A Trial and Foraging Open to tribe members present in camp at time of occurance)) 19th Sun, 5th Astral Moon, 2nd Year of the Seventh Umbral Era K'mana woke the next morning in pain. Her body ached of overworked muscles and exhaustion, not to mention the various bruises and her broken arm. She looked around the familiar tent and realized she was at K'luha's. Her sister must have brought her here after she collapsed. K'mana thought about closing her eyes and drifting back to slumber for a moment before deciding to extract herself from the bedroll. The elder's would likely be gathering the tribe this morning to discuss the impending attack, and she thought it likely that K'luha would want to have a word with her before long. K'mana rolled the bedding as best she could manage with only one hand, before settling in the middle of the tent to stretch her sore muscles. She relaxed as she slowly moved through the various muscle groups wary not to jostle her arm. Stretch and hold, breath and release, she repeated the simple steps as she awaited what the morning sun would bring.
  17. Yes, it is. Source: I watched an episode of Strike Witches. Haha, I'm a pretty big fan of the cute girls doing cute things in anime group, but I must admit first time I picked up Strike Witches I dropped if before finishing the first episode (back when it started airing.) Thinking wellllll that was weird. After the show was almost done with season one, and AMV's started popping up with action scenes from the series I went back and finished it, there was a weird rational behind them not wearing pants, but its just silly cause Saya wears a skirt...just leaves me thinking why they all don't. (I know the META reason of course cause: fanservice.) Also....how did I miss the news of a new sailormoon coming out !? Man I am slipping. Might as well leave this here: http://www.anime-planet.com/users/fallendrgmaster
  18. K'mana sighed "It is not a matter of ease, safety, or tradition. Though tradition may be the point we must argue with the Elders. I don't believe we are here because anyone of us WANTS to leave our home, to drag the tribe on a foolish grand adventure." She looked around "It is not matter of IF or WILL we leave the Sagolii, but when and where." She walked to the edge of the tower and looked out upon the sands "I love our home, but the bounty of the Sagolii can no longer support a tribe of our size. We can not continue to hunt all the while ignoring the dwindling populations of our prey. That will only prematurely collapse the ecosystem." K'mana turned, facing the group and leaned back on the railing of the tower. "The desert is one of the most inhabitable places in Eorzea, yet we have thrived here. I have little doubt that we can not adapt to survive on lands more fertile." K'mana pushed off of the railing standing straight, "The era of peace and prosperity that was the Sixth Astral has passed and we have little choice but to fight and adapt until the Seventh Astral is upon us. Eorzea's and our enemies surround us, the Amalj'aa have shown us in the past that even the desert does not hide our tribe from them, and we lost many of our own to the Garleans upon the plains of Carteneau." K'mana looked at K'nahli "But we are certainly not here to suggest usurping the Elders and drag the tribe with us. We ARE young and inexperienced, just as the Elders are stubborn and set in their ways." K'mana paused taking a breath. "To gather our ideas, the positive and the negatives, to hone our discourse. Such that we the young can give the Elders that push, or the hand they need to overcome their unwillingness to act, so that they can lead us out of these troubling times."
  19. "I agree with K'ailia, it may not solve all our problems, but the very idea of NOMADIC tribe which does not follow the food, is unheard of." K'mana spoke up. "It may be wise to send out scouts of a sense to search for a better location. I am unsure of how to solve the water issues in the desert as it comes with the territory but even the simple task of moving east towards the ocean and fishing could ease our lack of food." K'mana looks thoughtful, but pauses to let someone else speak. ((Out of time *wink* gotta get back to work, try to post sometime soon.))
  20. The new issue of the lantern has begun circulation! http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/lantern/2013/09/hipparion-tribe-seeks-lost-members/ Send me an IC forum PM or in-game moggle mail with clues or hints, maybe even a reply from a member themselves *looks at the keepers.* However you'd like to run it, if you want an NPC to send the letter or you can even rope one of your IC friends to "turn in" your character. I look forward to tracking your runners down. *grins*
  21. K'mana finished her review in quick order, and looked up smiling. K'rei was still asleep, K'mana crossed the tent and roused the other woman to tell her she would be heading out of camp for a few bells. K'mana exited the tent and began stretching, thinking she would need to earn a chocobo of her own soon. But she left that thought as she began her run out to the sagolii gate. She let her mind slip into the runners mindset, watching the placement of feet through the sand. When she reached the gate, she was wet with the exertion of the run and the desert heat. She waved as she spoted K'ailia up the tower and began to climb the stairs herself.
  22. K'rei looked at the angry woman shocked for a moment, but slowly smiled. "I apologize for my brazen actions, I acted before I thought, I meant no disrespect." she carefully passed K'mana to the other woman. She looked at K'luha "The results of are her trial are of course yours to administer; but it would have been remiss of me, to not speak for the courage I saw from the woman who saved my life. However on your other statement," She cocked her eyebrow. "I am no shaman, nor can I speak for the spirits but...dumb luck does not lead someone almost 300malms where one just happens to find a captured member of the Hipparion Tribe and word of an impeding attack on their tribe." "I shall assist in preparing the defenses as you commanded" K'rei snapped a quick salute before retreating from the tent. When she left she was grinning. K'mana's sister was a firecracker but she obviously cared for her little sister. These were good people and she owed this tribe her life, she would have to fight hard to repay that debt. She sought out one of the senior huntresses to receive instructions. ((K'rei exits the scene stage right!))
  23. K'mana blanched visibly as the elder spoke the word, Hunter. K'mana spoke her voice wavering "Sir...you honor me prematurely. I hope that the information I bring proves useful to the tribe, but I will not hide the truth from this council. I abandoned my Trial based on a feeling I had." K'mana spent most of the next bell telling the story of the past 12 suns. When she finished she looked worn and tired. "Elders I firmly believe that we should prepare for battle." The message finally delivered, her task finished; relief flooded into her, she had finally warned the tribe. The weariness she had been holding away previously crashed in like a tidal wave and she slowly collapsed to the floor. K'rei caught K'mana on the way down. "We should let her rest," the unknown huntress spoke as she lay K'mana softly on the ground. K'rei then looked up at the elders "I know that I am not of your family, but if you would trust the words of another huntress. I believe that your young K'mana is ready. Not only did she save my life, but the past 4 suns the pace we set could only be described as brutal, few huntresses as young as she would have been able to maintain a pace such as that for so many suns. She loves her tribe, and I believe she truly believed her feelings would lead to the betterment of the tribe." K'rei paused momentarily "I know you have other things to concern with yourself with, but I would like to join your tribe, I lost my own tribe during the fall." She looked pained as mentioned that event, but she hid it quickly and added. "Whatever your decision, my spear is yours to command until you pass this ordeal." With their message delivered, K'rei slowly left the tent carrying K'mana to let the elders discuss the incoming threat.
  24. K'mana winced in pain as her arms was crushed into her chest but stayed silent as she wrapped her other arm around her older sister and returned the hug. She stayed there for a few moments before speaking. "K'luha, I know you were worried, and I want to tell you everything that happened but I am not sure I have the energy to repeat the story twice. Nor do I think we have time to spare. I think you should be there when I report to the elders as a senior huntresses. I promise you, that we'll sit down later when everything settles back down after whats coming." She slowly freed herself from her sisters embrace and looked at K'ailia "I think it would be best if you waited here while I report to the elders K'ailia." K'mana grabbed K'luha's hand and all but dragged her from the tent. As she marched towards the center where the elders would be gathering.
  25. K'mana awoke early as normal, slipping silently from her tent and into the cool morning. The desert sky was just beginning to gain the pink tinge of sunrise. She silently moved through the camp until she was standing outside the small settlement with a unblocked view of the horizon. It was there she knelt and prayed, greeting the morning sun and Azeyma. When she returned to her tent much of camp was beginning to rise, and she slowly lifted her tent flap to enter noticing a small note in the sand. She scooped it up and slipped inside. She looked across the tent and smiled, K'rei was still fast asleep. The two women had shared the tent since the time they met 4 years ago. K'mana looked up to the slightly older woman like a surrogate sister. K'rei was incredibly skilled with spear and lance, and K'mana remembered how that skill had saved her life all those years ago. K'mana sat near the opening of their tent and quietly scanned the contents and smiled. She had 4 summers on K'ailia but already that young woman was sweeping through the camp like a breath of fresh air. K'mana set the note down and slowly picked up her worn tome, her fingers brushing over the leather. She opened it, and began to read. While it would be K'ailia's job to look to the future and take them there. It was K'mana's task to provide her with answers and wisdom taken from the annals of time. She smilied, the Elders were sticklers for tradition and as they grew older they found comfort in convention. But, they often lost sight of the fact that their own histories were filled with change.
