We are Her shield! We are Her spear! We are Her Rage and we shall know no fear! IC: Until but recently, Archbishop Thordan VII held absolute power over the Order of Our Knights Most Heavenly, binding them to his will just as the Great Wyrm Nidhogg had bound the Dravanians to his. Sworn to serve the city, they were. Sworn to serve in a war without end. It was during this time that a handful of Ishgardians, unconvinced that the Fury would condone ignoring the rest of the Realm in the wake of the Calamity, formed a secret militant order - the Rage of Halone; a Free Company that could reach beyond the walls of the Holy See to aid the Realm in its struggle against the Garlean Empire. They worked as labourers, mercenaries, privateers and soldiers and settled in Limsa Limnsa, which became a base of operations for their group. After proving itself time and time again, the Rage found a place for itself within the Maelstrom, serving as an auxiliary unit. Gaius Van Baelsar was eventually defeated and the Garlean forces quelled, but the same could not be said of Thordan or of Nidhogg. In Ishgard, still people fought, still people died and for what? Hearing of Alphinaud Leveilleur's plight, the Rage allied itself with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, crossing the gates and walking the steps of faith once more into Ishgard. There, slowly but surely, with the help of brave Ishgardians and none other than Aymeric de Borel himself, the Rage was able to expose the orthodoxy's lies. With both Thordan and Nidhogg now dead, the Dragonsong War has ended. Bonds have been broken and wounds have begun to heal. Ishgard rebuilds. Yet a Storm of Blood brews in the the East and all eyes turn to Ala Mhigo... OOC: Hello, everyone. My name is Akira Ikari. I am the leader of the Rage of Halone, a Free Company I have been meaning to found for quite some time. Unfortunately, many of the friends I used to play with locally (IRL) are gone now and so too it seems for the friends I had in game, so I thought I'd give it a shot and try to get a new group together. <>, I'm hoping, will be a light-to-medium roleplaying Free Company of adventurers loosely tied to Ishgard and Limsa Lominsa. I don't have any plots or specific stories in mind, but I'm open to any suggestions. Roleplaying could happen in FC chat or in Linkshell, either is fine by me. I look forward to seeing some fancy writing. Otherwise, I want it to be a place for all sorts of people to come together and play; a place where they can build camaraderie and help each other. I love playing FFXIV, but I often feel alone in the game. I want to offer people a place where they don't have to be alone. I'd like to get to a point where we can clear end-game content together and do all the fun things that bigger FCs do, but even if all you want to do is roleplay and level alt-jobs, that's OK. Honour; honesty, integrity and respect. These are some of the values I'd like to build <> around. Wanting to do good and treat people the way one would want to be treated. That's the goal. If you would like to know more about <> or would like to join its ranks as one of the Winter's Warriors, just reach out to me here or in game! P.S.: I speak French (Québec), English and some Japanese. Having a multilingual FC could be cool.

Welcome back! I'm no longer on Balmung, so I doubt we'll encounter each other, but if ever you're on Mateus send me a message! Akira is an Ishgardian adventurer involved in a secret militant order. Could offer some fun RP opportunities. Anyway, enjoy Stormblood. ^^

I'm probably not allowed to post about Free Companies here, but I thought I'd do so anyway, in the hopes that new people see it. ^^ My name is Akira Ikari and I'm the leader of Rage of Halone, a new FC on Mateus. It should develop into a light-to-medium knightly roleplaying group with perhaps a focus on PvP. I'm not sure yet. I'm just a casual player, myself; I want to give people a place to play together. That's all. Anyway, click HERE to read about the FC. I wrote a bit of in character information and have summarized what I'd liek the FC to be. If you're interested in growing a new group, then reply to me here or there or in game. Welcome to the RPC.

I'm not sure. I haven't checked. I would imagine it does, but after the transfers, I really can't say.

1. You can play any class or job you like without it impacting your roleplay. It's up to you to choose if you want to incorporate that into your character's story or not. Your character can be as simple or complex as you decide and, since this is Final fantasy, your list of options is endless. 2. I think it's very honourable of you to take care of your grandfather. If you don't mind my asking, is that something you do full time? few people, outside of nursing, are so dedicated; much respect, man. Playing outside of high traffic hours can be frustrating, but by slowly growing your list of friends and frequenting those established roleplaying hotspots, you'll find people whose schedules align with yours. There's always casual spontaneous RP if that's more your style. The community on Mateus is burgeoning, so regardless you joined at a good time. Feel free to add Akira Ikari.

Can confirm. Moved from Balmung to Mateus this morning. It was quick and painless. No issues or problems. I also moved to Mateus. Feel free to add Akira Ikari.

New World and World Population Balancing Incentives Introduced
Skullcrusher replied to Maril's topic in FFXIV News
Worse comes to worse, join us on Midgardsormr! Let's start something fresh! -
What do world transfer incentives mean for us?
Skullcrusher replied to Skullcrusher's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Oh! I hadn't caught that! I guess they'll be targeting the very low population servers; makes sense. -
Honestly, as nice as Balmung is (it really is; I've got some great RP partners), I think I'll just transfer or start fresh. It may make it so I'll be late starting Stormblood, but I'll be better equipped to do so. My misses is on Midgardsormr, so I think that's where I'll transfer, but I'm curious to know where sprouting RP communities can be found.

New World and World Population Balancing Incentives Introduced
Skullcrusher replied to Maril's topic in FFXIV News
Honestly, with all the incentives, I think it may be worthwhile to just create a new character, level it with PotD and then buy a jump potion. I'd be better off then I am now, believe it or not. -
YO! Welcome among the living! Glad you're going to start RPing in game. Must say, I was thinking of going the same route with Akira (card reading, that is), but maybe I'll elave that to you and do it secretly.
-
I think that would be a good way to do and it's nice that you're injecting Roegadyn specific lore into your RP. Best of luck, man!

New race in Stormblood? - Speculation and Discussion
Skullcrusher replied to Altitis Acquired's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Could we not just get beard options for existing races instead? I would like that. Currently, only Roe and Highlanders can have a decent beard and that's on ONE face option. The rest is funny moustaches and awful chin straps. Please Square, allow us to have beard. It'll be optional, you won't instantly lose your Japanese audience because of it; I swear. Similarly, another large race like Roegadyn would be 100% 0K in my books. -
The world could always use more whimsy and I daresay a chocolate selling, pink wearing, jubilant conjurer is an ample amount of whimsy. I hope you find fun people to complement your character and RP with. I'm also newly moved and I can safely encourage you to reach out to other RPers in game, you may be surprised how willing to converse most are! ^^ Welcome to the community; all the best!
-
I only just moved from Exodus a few days ago! As such, i doubt we'll be able to RP in game, but if we can make our characters cross paths here on the RPC, somehow, I'd be more than willing to share a story. ^^ Welcome to the community. You'll find that everyoen here is kind and open-minded, so feel free to ask as many questions as you see fit.

I've now met a few people frpm this thread online and it's been a really great experience thus far. Thank you all for being so open and kind; I appreciate it. I look forward to many more fun encounters; provided I get Akira set in stone, of course. ^^

Au Ra Origins: The Dawn & Dusk Theory [Spoilers]
Skullcrusher replied to Ren Mistwalker's topic in Lore Discussion
I'm also a fan of OP's theory, but I think it's mostly my WANTING Au Ra to be draconic in nature. One thing worth mentioning (which may be able to fall into your headcannon) is that, provided bahamut and Tiamat gave Au Ra the ability to reproduce - which they presumably would have; perhaps to differentiate / distance them from themselves or as an experiment - then we can easily imagine mixicity of the two as well as with other races. Such a mixicity of races may have caused a biological evolution in the millenia old race, one that resulted in them resembling the Dragons less and less, making them "more mortal", if you will. Just a thought. ^^ -
Tee Hee! Ye! That was me! Thanks for acepting my friend request! Also, thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! I'm still juggling different ideas for Akira as a character and am unsure of how I want to move forward; what sea I want to sail or upon what ship, if you will. I'm wondering if there's a way to roleplay knowledge of different jobs or ability to perform different jobs. I "main" Dragoon, but I also love Black Mage, Dark Knight and Astrologian. Is there a way to incorporate all of that into a character? Should I just make Akira a simple fisherman who secretly works four different dangerous jobs?

I've just today surfaced in Balmung. It was hard leaving my friends who I'd spent so much time with on Exodus, but I took the plunge and now here I am. So far, I've not done much. I wandered into the Quicksnad and the Forgotten Knight and was happy to see RPers, but I think everyone uses Linkshell. Am I wrong? Otherwise, I joined an FC temporarily. Now's the time for me to make new friends, so feel free to add Akira Ikari to your lists. Thanks for having me, Akira

Contemplating Balmung; dreaming of apartments
Skullcrusher replied to Skullcrusher's topic in Welcome Desk
I will probably make the move and wait until Ishgard apartments become available, but I thank you all for you replies. It's stuff to ponder. ^^ -
Hello, everyone! I'm considering my options moving forward with FFXIV and a plunge into Balmung is something I've been interested in for quite some time now. That being said, I DID purchase for myself a lovely apartment in Mist just recently here on Exodus. Unless I'm mistaken, were I to take the plunge, my apartment and the hefty amount of gil I spent purchasing it would be gone. I can make the gil back, but it'll take some time and odds are I won't be able to get the room I like in the ward I like... What's the market like on Balmung these days? Are most wards and apartment buildings full by now? Kind regards, Akira
