  1. The Myth of the sword was stated and then suddenly.. Tons of people and conversations! The Duskwhite blinked a moment as if time had just suddenly jumped forward. He wasn't able to say a word, he was having trouble /even/ saying a word. Either this is because of sudden show up of people, the fact that he wasn't one to be rude and just shove his way into conversations, or the lady with the tail and her white hair was oddly distracting. Whatever the case was he crossed his arms, sat back and hrmed softly. "Well, swords of legends, weapons of unknown. Sounds like a fun form of excitement, adventure, and an all out love for power, if you ask me." He just sorta puts out, leaning back in his chair a bit more till... The chair decided to give away to gravity with him flailing and going down with it. The he raised his index finger up just above the table top to see, "I'm ok! Just let me know if their any myths on any gravity defying artifacts.." Then his hand flopped down. "ow.." (( Sorry for the crappy pose, all that could come to mind at the sudden post rush. ))
  2. The Duskwhite raised an eyebrow, "A sword huh?" He then leans back in the chair, careful with the spear on his backside and hrms softly as he crosses his arms over his chest. "What about this sword of legends?"
  3. "Myths and Legends?" Vaelyn asked back to Sibean, "That sounds actually really interesting. They say within the Myths one can always find the truth. Though the truth can be sometimes hard to see through the veil of those who do not know where to look." He urrs softly, "Of course, sometimes also trying to seek such things can lead you into a heap of bloody trouble." Vaelyn then closes his eyes for a moment in thought, "I've heard stories where men would go seeking myths and legends, in trying to prove them true. Some of them returned in finding nothing, other returned seeming reborn by their travels, and others, well.." He opens his eyes, "They never returned." "It would be an adventure to prove them real, but I sometimes wonder, if its best to leave such things alone and forgotten. Followers, after all, should never walk over the footprints of giants." The duskwhite then cants his head to the side, "So.. what do the book cover, any form of creatures like winged beasts?"
  4. "Loki huh?" He grins at the name. "That seems like a nice name." The Duskwight was at least trying to be nice, even though it seemed the woman was not the talkative sort. "You remind me of a friend I once had, he wasn't very talkative. He once told me I talked to much, but I mean, how can you learn anything about anyone if your not willing to talk right?" Vaelyn then took notice of the book that got brought out and blinked his eyes a few times, "..nice book.. what is it?"
  5. Vaelyn took a seat and rested his arms on the table, then watched as the other joined them. He examined her for a quick moment, before closing his eyes in thought. "Hell of a place indeed. Hopefully those who have gotten hurt have proper attention." Vaelyn then opens his violet-blue eyes before sitting back in his chair. Then looks the lady once more who has joined them, "And what may your name be, Miss?"
  6. So, I figure I show off some of my artwork, though for now, Vaelyn is the name of the game and perhaps I'll draw others later on as well as time goes along. I also hope that no one takes offense to any of my work, as my views on what are offensive don't seem to line up sometimes to what others find offensive, so I'll try and censor out things that could be "Oh no!" Or place a "Not Work Safe" warning. Also please feel free to comment. You can find my main gallery here: http://foxfirestorm.deviantart.com Lets get this show on the road! -------------------------------------------------- This is some drawings I did tonight on Open Canvas, did all three of these within an Hour out of sheer boredom. Enjoy! Click Here: Vae Art Dump 1
  7. The duskwight raises a brow at the explanation before he frowns a bit, "Sounds awfully exciting." said with a sarcastic tone in his voice. "..I'm surprised someone didn't give them the boot before things got kind of ugly. Do.." He pauses for a moment, "..nevermind.." The duskwight hrms softly before he grins, "Mind if I have a seat here? New around the area, traveled in, told this was the best place to go to-- find work, if anything else. Youthful around the collar perhaps, but I have my skills." He then lowers his eyes slightly, "..Though.. none to help those people.." "Oh yes!" He then smirks, "The name is Vaelyn, Vaelyn Nykrah."
  8. The Duskwight remained confused, very confused, however he did spot someone who came into the Tavern, though dry remarked back to the barkeeper(?), "..I wouldn't set fire to anything, unless it was to burn a corpse." With that the Duskwight made his way over to Siben who just rested their head down on the table top. His boots could be heard hitting the floor, as he wasn't masking himself from not being heard. "Excuse me," He addresses with a smile, "What-- happened? I mean, that looks pretty bad.." He then sighs softly before rubbing the back of his neck. "..unless your as clueless as I am.." Then he mutters softly, "..which just be my luck.."
  9. (( *hopes following this all correctly and stretches out the characters legs* Also hoping that I can do this in the game. )) Mayhem, carnage, looks like a mess hit here and hit hard. Though it was hard to say for the newcomer to this area and perhaps even a tad lost. The tall Duskwight Elezen walked into the area. His violet-blue eyes looked around, careful how he stepped. He wore mostly what looked to be black leather armor, and lance equipped to his backside. His hair had some bangs around his face, with ear tails that went down past his chin. His hair pulled back into a pony tail. The bangs and a bit of highlight in his hair was that of blondish gold color, which the rest of his hair was black. Closing his eyes for a moment, he then crossed his arms over his chest, before shifting his weight to one side, "This may be a silly question but.." He then raises a black eye-brow, "Is everything ok?" Yes, asking this with a burned down building, people probably trying to figure out what was going on, much like himself, yep-- That was indeed a silly question. Score one for idiot questions!
  10. Well at least on the bright side of the hair being the same, at least you can select different colors for that hair more so then FFXI and then make it different a bit more by using high-lights. ^^; *is trying to be optimistic* And yes, the little guys with facial hair also freak me out, then again, I never (sorry) liked them much. So I could help but see the video and think, "..like Asian guy?" Then I started to see also Marven the Martian walk with him going, "Fuucius say.. " I know, I'm bad. ^^;
  11. Ahh, I never had to worry about the "Friend Trap." I play MMOs, like I play MUSHes, I go where the RP is and anyone who knows me, knows this. Thankfully my RL friend also roleplays, so she will go wherever I go and for everyone else I know, well-- if they want to join me on whatever we decide is the official RP server is fine, that is good, if not, then we always have email and messengers.
  12. Synchronized idea spouting. What he said. She. Honestly I do find that RPC is very important for keeping the roleplayers together as well. Champions Online had this, though admittedly, to me, it got a bit crazy in the end as we started to get the hardcore nazis in who were way to restrictive and didn't give some lee-way. I love the idea of this, I love community standing together and working with one another. Its team work and it can show. On top of it, its like having one massive family! Just sad when the family itself can't get along. Anyhow, I will be getting the collector's edition when it comes out, so those who are also, let me know~ I really think those of use who are getting in ahead should be looking over to make sure everything is going to be clear for the players and try and see what is going on. Then report it. Right now, staying informative, sticking together, and working as a team is the most important thing we can do. Even in the end, we decided to go to different servers, at least we can still try and make events where everyone can do stuff together, even if its on the boards and not in the game. That is just my two cents worth~
  13. One of my concerns is actually.. What if they separate the PS3 and PC users? I doubt that could happen, but it is known that sometimes mixing several systems together it can cause lag. SE though has mastered this issue, which is why I doubt it, but because PS3 is coming out in 2011, kinda makes me wonder what they hold up is on that side. Outside of just having to convert the thing from a computer to a console. Now, I suggest that if they do make it where we can not select a server (which will suck, but it seems we once more have to pay for extra characters), it probably be best for us to maybe pick some people who are getting the collector's editions, who can get on before everyone else can (since they have what 8 days ahead?) and have them scout and figure out what be the best server. Once maybe then everyone agrees on this, before the main people who are not getting the collectors can get on, we pick a server, then those who are on that server, work together to get people passes. Then make a forum just for people asking for passes and us giving out passes to those who need it. That way work out management for passes and so on. As then for RP servers, if we get more then one, which would be /amazing/. .. admittedly, I am not sure what to say on that one. ^^;
  14. So, as many know (or not know?), there was the FFIV Benchmark testing over on Nvidia's site for us to see how well out computers can hold up. Admittedly my score surprised me, which as a 820-860. My friend, even had worse. However with the score under what they want which is 1000, I'm still going to play it and see what I can do option wise once in the game to make it run crystal smooth (or enough where I don't notice). Thankfully in the test, it only hiccuped a few times, and they were so short and went so quick, that if you blinked you eyes at that point it went 'urk' you probably would have missed it. Anyone else going to test their PCs luck, even with their scores saying, "No you can't"? Or shall I be the only crazy person to even give it a try because I'm bullheaded like that.
  15. I also voted on #2 as well. Because to me, any OOC Knowledge applied to IC Knowledge is metagaming. A character should never know what you know as the player and it should never be applied. After all, RP is a learning experience for your character and Roleplaying the life of your character is much like roleplaying the real life, just for that character. If that makes any sense at all...
  16. RL Info (if you want): RL Name: Classified RL Age: 23 ( Jan. 23 1987) Country: USA Timezone: -7 GMT (No Daylight savings) RL Gender: Female --Why do you like to RP? I love to roleplay, always have since I was a little girl. I believe it is mostly because I tend to have a very creative mind, so outside of my art, I like to find other means to expressive my creativeness and roleplaying seems to be the best outlet. RP Preferences: --Are you willing to RP a fight scene in game? Yes, I am. I have no problem with this, so long as no one is god moding or doing something outlandish. --What is your preferred method of combat? (/randoming, skill based, etc) Honestly, if we were to let the system decide if you hit or missed, probably by using the /random and if depend on who got the high number is if they hit or missed. This however I only use if I didn't think the person was skilled enough in rp to use common sense. --Are you willing to take major injuries in game? (ie limb loss, comas, etc.) Yes, comas - limb loss-- that be hard to say since you know, can't have avatar lose a limp, however broken arm.. leg that was healing. I could do that. --Are you willing to let your character die permanately? This is-- hard, but I do believe in ConDeath, so it depends on the situation. --Are you willing to RP romance in game? How far are you willing to go? Yes, I have no problem with romance rp and how far it will go? Depends on the maturity of the other player on the other side. --What kind of non-romantic RP relationships are you willing to take part in? (family ties, etc) Pretty much anything and everything. I am a rather laid back person who has done a great number of things in rping. --How far from the actual lore are you willing to stray? Haha. This is always a dangerous question. I believe in lore, but I also don't mind lore bending if it is done so tastefully, thoughtfully, can be explained how and whys, and finally, if it is way outlandish. --Views on chat functions (IC vs OOC)? IC, almost always IC with me. This includes tells as well, which I believed to be a telepathic connection between players. --Are you looking for Cross-guild Rp? RP is RP. Crosses or not, it is still RP. --How do you prefer to be contacted? (PM or post in this thread) Either or.
