  1. I. Basic Info Characters: Felix Sideris Primary character: Felix Sideris Linkshells: None Yet Primary RP linkshell: None Yet II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I prefer heavy, but medium is satisfying enough. I enjoy deep stories of nearly all kinds. I prefer to see roleplay happen naturally rather than OOCly organize stories, however I can go either way and understand the latter is sometimes needed. Views on RP combat and injuries: I enjoy RP combat so long as things are kept realistic in the given game's universe. (I.E: Having a lightsaber in a medieval game setting would be taken as trolling) I have no problem with my character being injured, and I often bring real-world anatomy and biology into play. An OOC heads up before attacking my character is always nice, but not needed so long as it isn't anything crazy. My character can die, but I wouldn't have someone to roleplay if that happened. I've found that non-fatal injuries provide the best additions to stories while keeping the OOC offenses and drama out of the mix. Views on IC romance: I enjoy a good story, and that includes the sappy and romantic ones. I rarely ever organize this OOCly because I like naturally occuring/forming roleplay. OOC =/= IC. My character's feelings are not my own. However, roleplay in general is more fun if you're getting along with the player behind the character, in my opinion. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask me. Oh, and in terms of anything past PG-13, I fade to black. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I like family roleplays and the like, and I think they add a lot of depth to characters. This is the one area that I enjoy talking about OOCly and planning stories or backstories out. In terms of non-famly RP, I am pretty open to almost all roleplay. I love random roleplay, goofy and serious alike. I am accepting to people's stories and am really looking forward to seeing the different kinds of relationships form between my character and other's. If there is a story you and my character to be involved in, or would like to plan something out, feel free to approach either ICly or OOCly! Views on lore: This is a tough part. Lore is very important as constructs the world in which our characters live in, however it can be restricting to creativity as well. I follow lore pretty closely, but I view them more as guide lines than 'follow this or die' rules. You wont see me running around doing anything outside of lore, most likely, though. I prefer to see people work their creativity within lore's guidelines as well. Interesting stories sometimes require the bending of lore or writing yourself into certain areas though, which is understandable so long as it is not taken to extremes. I'd rather not see people claiming they are related to one of the Warriors of Light. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Realisticly used, obviously. If you are standing in a open area and don't want people to hear what you are saying, emote that you are whispering. I like this method as it doesn't ignore the world and community around you, but provides them with the opportunity to enter into your roleplay or influence your story. After all, we're playing an online game for a reason. One of the worst things that happen to roleplay communities are cliques. III. Other Info Country: United States Timezone: Eastern Contact info: Either a private message on here, or in game would be best. Worst comes to worst, message me on Skype at Freefall195. Message, random calls will be ignored.
  2. No seriously, check out the census! XDD It's like this! I did! I assumed it might possibly be out of date. It said 2013, but its already half way through the year.
  3. Good to see the positive response from the community. Keep the votes going!
  4. Pfft, the female Hyur models look pretty good.
  5. Just a simple poll, which are you roleplaying? Haven't seen a more recent one of these and couldn't seem to find one anywhere so I figured I'd try making one myself. Edit: Curious to see what a rough guess of our community will look like on Balmung! Lets get voting
  6. Actually you miss understood me. I'm not making any assumption. I know full-well that Nuhn does not entitle you, but grants you the potential right to breed. Which is why I -asked- the question in the first place. That kind of roleplay doesn't suit me. My question in the start was meerly what the majority of roleplayers actually did and how they depicted Miqo'te. Personally, I would rather not roleplay the whole Nuhn thing, but that is me personally. I'm not judging or condemning anyone else for their choices. I just wanted to know the general population's stance on the matter so I could better make a decision on which race I will be playing. I know I personally don't have to do the Nuhn roleplay, but I would rather play a Hyur if most of the Miqo'te male roleplayers are going to be doing something of the sort. However thus far it seems that is not the case. Again, thank you everyone for your opinions.
  7. I suppose the Sunseeker's tribal end of the lore turned be off a bit. Well, not so much the tribal end of it as much as it was the whole Nuhn breeding thing. For me, in roleplay for my character, it was too carnal? Maybe carnal isn't the right word, but I am sure many of you know what I am trying to say. Thanks for all of the replies thus far, it has been very helpful.
  8. Ok as to your first question there is nothing to stop you from playing your Miqo'te from a city point of view who really dislikes the whole trible thing. Its completely up to you on that front. For your second question I am rping as a more tribal Miqo'te, hes older though and a little bit wiser in the ways of the world than say a fresh faced youngster from a tribe stepping into the city for the first time. Thanks for the quick reply. I know in the end it is up to me, thats the nice thing about story writing. However, I also want to make sure my story is open and exciting for other roleplayers, not just myself. One of the things I love the most about roleplay is character interaction. And I think its pretty acceptable to have an older, traditional styled Miqo'te, it adds conflict and such between the generations. However, would you say that as a general community, more people are roleplaying tribal styled Miqo'te, or more of a civilized style? Thankies I'll take a look! It did, thank you. I have a bit of a story written but I am hesitant on blending it into a Miqo'te. I wanted to see what the RP community's views were towards them and how they are roleplayed/depicted in roleplay before I make that step. Thanks again!
  9. I am relatively new to ARR and it's lore, and so my questions goes out to the roleplay community as a whole, but also especially the Miqo'te roleplayers. First questions: What is Miqo'te roleplay like? I am asking this because the lore behind Miqo'te, while interesting on paper, does not suit my taste in actual roleplay. It's a bit too tribal for me, and so what is the rp like? Is the Miqo'te roleplay, as a whole, more civilized or relatable to Hyur, or more tribal and lore-abiding? Would it be frowned upon in the community to roleplay a more civilized Miqo'te? And what type of roleplay do you see coming from Miqo'te most often? How are Miqo'te generally depicted? Second Questions: What is your roleplay on your Miqo'te or what do you planning on doing? I am curious to see what roleplay ideas people have for their Miqo'te.
