As title suggests I’m generally new to this whole RP thing and is generally too shy to ask people out in major cities for RP but I’m interested/curious about it and wanting to trying it out! Due to the current world travel limitations and super long ques, Are there any SFW/beginner friendly RP places in Adamantoise? Any tips for shyer RPers?

Hello guys! Played FFXIV yeaaars and yeaars ago. Decided to recently get back into it so I'm preeetty much a noob again! That being said, I am a veteran roleplayer and I really enjoyed that aspect of the game when I played last. I'm not sure if this forum is still active - can anyone offer some tips? It seems Balmung is still the go to server for roleplayers? That being said, my new character is on the Odin server. Hello o/ I just moved to Balmung with a quest to learn RP. As my friend list is now empty, I'am looking for new friends, and people to RP with. I've lurked in wow on AD for 4 years so I have a rough idea of Do and Donts, but I need some experience in the field and guidance from time to time. Hello, My name is Euphemia Corina. I have just finished all of the Main Scenario Quests, and I am looking for a community. I am currently on the Mateus Server so if you're also located there let me know. I just switched from Goblin, and to give you all a brief synopsis: -I have played a few other MMORPGs over the years. None of which were as fun as FF14. -I have little to no RP experience, but I am willing to learn and can't wait to get started! -I am aiming to be a medium role-player and with practice heavy soon. -I am in the midst of creating my character. However some help would be amazing. - I am looking for a bit of help with my character's background, but mostly I am here for friends on and off of my server. So please feel free message me.

Hii, So I am here in this forum to ask for help with building my character's background story. This has been a little hard since she's already a LVL 80 scholar and I like the role of a scholar so I am asking for tips for coming up with the background. I have also been thinking of starting in a new server with a new character, but I do not wanna do all the MQS over again. So what I have so far is, -Race/Clan/Gender: Miqo'te, Keeper of the Moon / ♀ -Nameday: 5th Sun of the 5th Astral Moon -Guardian: Menphina, the Lover. I am unsure of how to move forward. Which seems stupid, because I have barely anything, but I have an idea of how I want her to be, but I am completely new to RPing so I am not exactly sure how to write it all out if that makes sense. I wanted to start casually roleplaying but I'll be honest I know nothing about the lore. I'm going to read up about it but I wanted to know if there are some taboos I should avoid so that I can start now whilst I read up the general lore. Like what should I NEVER do as a roleplayer backstory wise or other?

So... I tried the game on ftp a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it, but couldn't afford to keep in it. Now, I've lost my contact info to the deep depths of time, and picked the game up and am starting fresh. I have an idea of the classes I like (to start at least), but what I don't have any idea about is where to start, or how to start in RP. So, I guess my questions should be itemized for ease of response? I've looked at the responses to "what server is best" and every option mentioned (at least in Aether) is "not accepting players" right now. So, should I try another Data Center in expectation of the "world crossing" update someone mentioned, or is there a better time of day that I should wait for? How does one find a RP guild (linkshell, I think is the term); are there recruiters in chat or is it more of a "do random RP posts in the hopes of getting contacted"? Are there races that have an expectation of lore knowledge or negative connotations that will make finding RP harder? (I realize this one is weird, but I've experienced character isolation based on race choice before, mostly in SWTOR) Sorry about asking so much, just kind of want to get in and play when I get the chance to, and maybe find some people to hang out with and talk to while I grind my level and job(s) up.
