Tiergan Posted July 24, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 24, 2015 When I tried to kick off my Red Lotus Plot - I noticed that some people were joining in because they were struggling to find RP and hoped the plot might help them get some. I feel bad that it completely failed in that regard (because I am dumb and bit off more than I could chew), and was kicking around an idea in my head of arranging 4-man IC Dungeon Parties for people. The groups would be randomized in that you don't really know who you'll end up with until you show up, but I'll be trying to match you all up with folks who have similar tastes or backstories. I would be the DM/GM and create a simple, but interesting story that draws the group together and gives them a reason to interact as they plunge into a dungeon to achieve a specific goal. The dungeons would provide a nice setting/environment to play around in as opposed to literally being the location they are supposed to be. ONE CAVEAT THOUGH - like I mentioned in regards to Red Lotus, I have a bad habit of biting off more than I can chew and taking on ideas that realistically require way more people to manage. If it starts feeling like this idea is the same, I’ll have to nix it. If you’re interested in this, please fill out this form. <———- Conversely, if you would love to VOLUNTEER to be a GM/DM who creates a story for 4 (or three if you want to be involved in the group) of your fellow roleplayers who are aching for some RP connections, fill out this form right here to volunteer yourself as tribute a GM. EDIT: I also realised we can also set up 8-man parties if it fits the story that is devised if we include places like the castrums. 4 Link to comment
RiniKett Posted July 24, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 24, 2015 I highly support this! I've done several of these myself, we even based our FC around it, and it is loads of fun. If you've never ICly ran a dungeon you are missing out. Great for building friendships, real scars, real war buddies, etc etc. If you ever need a healer to fill in a role, Rini stares at the leve board for events like these so feel free to ask. Otherwise, I encourage those who haven't to give this a go! 1 Link to comment
banndsand Posted July 25, 2015 Share #3 Posted July 25, 2015 I'm quite interested in this, but I've got several characters so I'm a bit hesitant to fill out your survey. I feel like each of my characters has different reasons to go on adventures as well as locations they frequent which could make them more or less suitable for different dungeon locations and scenarios. How should I go about this? Link to comment

Tiergan Posted July 27, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted July 27, 2015 Also - just waiting a bit longer to see if more people fill it out before preparing to organize things o/ (Double thanks to the people who volunteered to help DM!) Link to comment
Tiergan Posted July 28, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted July 28, 2015 So I herped the derp and completely forgot to ask everyone the most important question to all of this, which is "What is the best/easiest way to reach you outside the game?" I learned the hard way that trying to hunt people down in game to speak with them is a recipe for suffering, so I'm sticking with methods that are a bit more reliable. I figure the people who found out about this through the RPC probably would be up for me contacting them through PMs, so if you signed up, feel free to poke me with a PM (and your character name!) so I can edit my ginormous spreadsheet of doom with your answer. If you know a friend who also signed up, please tell them to give me a poke as well. Link to comment
Devyn Piper Posted July 28, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm still new enough that I probably don't have access to 99% of the dungeons out there but once I do this is something I'd very much like to participate in. Oh, and good luck with your derp herping! Link to comment

Oh, and good luck with your derp herping! If you're level 15 and have cracked open at least the level 15 dungeons, feel free to sign up! Also - anyone who found out about these through here - please poke me so I know who you are so I can give you a poke when the dungeons are organized! o/ Link to comment

I actually just started poking the DMs yesterday with my spreedsheet of doom, so I'll send all of that info to you today. Link to comment

WorstRPerEver Posted August 3, 2015 Share #16 Posted August 3, 2015 One quick question that I forgot to ask... How do we handle it if our OOC class doesn't line up with our character's IC ability? I've got Paladin/Gladiator levelled to 60, but I figure Jad would probably be something like a low-level Gladiator if I were to translate his actual skills to ingame class and level. Link to comment

I've got Paladin/Gladiator levelled to 60, but I figure Jad would probably be something like a low-level Gladiator if I were to translate his actual skills to ingame class and level. Sorry that I missed this! I wouldn't worry too much about it - you can just let folks know OOC that not all of the abilities you whip out during the dungeon are IC. Additionally, sometimes the IC dungeons are unsync'd romps through lowbie dungeons where you can afford to have your character not use all of his abilities because the other folks will probably gleefully be blowing everything away. Quick update: My health is unfortunately taking a dive again. I'm taking a break for roughly a week. This means Dungeon Dives are on hold (unless one of the volunteer GMs grabs you!) and will resume once I'm all better again. Sorry for the wait! Link to comment

Elaris Posted August 25, 2015 Share #19 Posted August 25, 2015 Ahh I did not see your update Tiergan, hopefully all is well with you by now, or soon! Other than that, DM Elaris here & I'm putting together a dungeon dive for September 5th, 3pm Pacific time. I'll leave a handy link for you to convert your timezone to see if you might be able to offer your character if the time is not too bad: http://time.is/PDT - We will not be rushing into the dungeon right away as we will need to meet first, get to know eachother, etc. - The RP hook is below. - We will meet at my FC estate before we venture off to Aleport -> Sastasha. Dungeon: Sastasha Normal Minimal level is 16 so it is not a difficult dungeon and we will not be clearing it, just an fyi. Please have a linkshell space open if you're to volunteer and all I'll need is three adventurers so if you could possibly make that date let me know! Volunteers: Lead: Elaris Strywin 1: I'nhalki Raha 2: L'leon Ember 3: Ayiana Tyata RP hook: A flyer seeking adventurers will be posted at The Drowning Wench, so your character may use that as a hook to help out. If you volunteered and cannot make it for any reason do let me know so I can try replace you asap! Short Story: Saeren Orbanis appeared to be troubled as she was surveying the Aleport Dock area, looking out to the sea every so often. She closed her eyes for a moment as she let out a troubled sigh, " This is not good. " Saeren muttered as she reached towards her bag to pull out what appeared to be a scroll of some type. " I'm not so certain the refugees will be coming anytime soon, master. " said the Shinobi. Saeren turned her gaze toward the shinobi to reassure her that they will be here. Saeren could not help but force a smile, it was a bad habit whenever she was feeling sick to her stomach. She was of course worried, having only heard tales of pirates rerouting vessels and thought perhaps that just might be the problem, that they are okay and not harmed. " Miyuki... " She whispered. Miyuki gazed at her but not for long, she plucked the scroll from her grasp and nodded. She was always quick to detect Saeren' worried condition. She rolled open the scroll and gazed at it, not that she was able to read it. " Say no more master, I will investigate. I'll go post this at the Wench before I disappear. " Miyuki declared. The paper was simple in design, asking for a few adventurers to help with a few jobs and where to locate the potential employer. It really put Saeren worried condition to ease having Miyuki looking into this problem. Glancing outward to sea for a moment, she then tilted her head to her left to glance at Miyuki once more but she was not to be seen. " And just like that, she is gone. " Saeren muttered to herself before departing from Aleport shortly afterward. Link to comment
I'nhalki Posted August 25, 2015 Share #20 Posted August 25, 2015 I'd like to sign up for this! My character is Aleport/Swiftperch based so Sastasha would be excellent. Looking forward to the adventure. Link to comment
