New player needing help

I am planning on playing FFXIV but before I got started I wanted to make sure there was good RP on the server I was going to.  Everything I read says Gilgamesh and Balmung are the best RP servers however when I got to create a toon it says the servers are full.  Are they always full or do I just have really bad timing??

That does help a bit thanks.  Are there issues when you are trying to log in once the character is made.  Would I have to worry about the server being full and being unable to play??

Nope! Sometimes there's a short queue, but it never takes more than a couple minutes unless something big has just been released.

Yeah the major thing is creating a character on one of these servers. There are some other servers who are starting a community, I think Jenova being one of them, if you can't make it on the other two!

Sometimes you'll get a log-in message saying it's full but it always goes through the second time you try to log in, no wait.  At least in my experience. 

 

Also, come on in, there's MUCH more RP here than the other servers!

Wow I am a little overwhelmed at all the helpfulness.  Im going to try and sneak a toon on Balmung or Gilgamesh tonight if not then Ill check out another server.  I hope I can play with you all sometime.

I transferred to Balmung myself not too long ago and I definitely don't regret it. If you like roleplay it's certainly worth considering.

 

And so far my queue experiences have been maybe 1 minute, 2 at the most at some days. It's not really that worrisome!

It's almost always like this.  This site has been tremendously helpful, informative, approachable and generally friendly. My RP has been greatly improved since coming here.
