Actually it was more of a reaction to one of the unofficial translators saying something like "Nobody wants to see bunny guys walking around". Sort of a throwback to people not liking the idea of male Miqo'te.

 

As for more animal races, I'm afraid you might be disappointed. Yoshi-P's looking into the idea of having lizard people instead.

Someone should show Yoshi-P the Aurin of WildStar. Granted, there's not much to be seen of the males yet, and they don't all have bunny ears, but still!
