Shamadconde Posted July 11, 2010 Share #51 Posted July 11, 2010 Well actually I read on Eorzeapedia why the PS3 version of XIV is delayed. Apparently the PS3 doesn't have enough RAM. Link to comment
Rikitiki Posted July 11, 2010 Share #52 Posted July 11, 2010 Rats.... well, I suppose that makes sense. Hey Sony, toss me an 8GB RAM chip, won't you? Link to comment

Kashemia Posted July 13, 2010 Share #54 Posted July 13, 2010 I'm currently debating with myself if I have enough money for a CE. The main reason for me to get it should be the week headstart, and I don't know if that really is enough to spend all that money (that I doesn't have). Link to comment

Midaja Posted July 17, 2010 Share #66 Posted July 17, 2010 Cant you just buy an imoport version or something like that? Think I'll decide, whether I'll buy CE or the normal edition after I had a look into the beta... I ran the Benchmark yesterday and after overclocking my graphic card I got from "low performance" to "good performance" at least... But I'm still not quite sure how my actual system is gonna handle the game and if I have to upgrade it for FFXIV I'd really have to look after my money hm... Link to comment
Arzy Posted July 17, 2010 Share #67 Posted July 17, 2010 Of course I could buy an import version, from UK that is. But with the tax that goes along with it, a game that would cost me .. uhh ... google conversion .. 87$ in Czech Republic would suddenly bump up to 120$ because of taxes and transportation fee and those 8 days are really NOT that important for me to pay that much more. Not to mention the transportation would take about 2-3 days. So that means I'd get only 6 or 5 days of early access. http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/ Link to comment
Aveline Posted July 17, 2010 Share #68 Posted July 17, 2010 For those looking @ buying imports, this is from S-E: Important, read this before you buy Final Fantasy XIV: Service accounts for FINAL FANTASY XIV and the FINAL FANTASY XIV Collector's Edition can only be added for the same region as your Square Enix account (Japan, North America, or Europe). The game cannot be played if the product region is different from the Square Enix account region, so be sure to check the region for which the product is intended before making a purchase. It seems like you'd be fine Arzy, getting a EU version from the UK, but this is esp. important for people that like to buy JP versions of the game and play them in the US. Hopefully if they are planning a simultaneous region release for all 3 regions this won't be an issue to many! Link to comment
Kashemia Posted July 17, 2010 Share #69 Posted July 17, 2010 One thing I con't really understand is what exactly a region account mean? Does it mean that you have to sign up for the account on the EU homepage to use an EU game, but can still play with people who are using an american account? Or are they on different servers? Renaise Posted July 18, 2010 Share #71 Posted July 18, 2010 So... provisionally, if I want to do what I had originally planned, which was start 3 characters from launch its going to cost me £13.19 ($20.19 US) a month. Now from what I gather those three character will have the one retainer between them unless I purchase more. Would I likely need more than one for 3 characters or is that enough does anyone know yet? Aveline Posted July 18, 2010 Share #72 Posted July 18, 2010 I think you actually get one retainer per character, but then each character can have additional retainers. That's at least what I'm interpreting it as right now.. I may be entirely wrong (hope not!) Link to comment
Renaise Posted July 18, 2010 Share #73 Posted July 18, 2010 The wording on the EU site is different to the US: âFor each account, one retainer will be free of charge with an additional retainer being â¬1.00 per month (UK £0.70)â Link to comment
Aveline Posted July 18, 2010 Share #74 Posted July 18, 2010 That would be SUCH a rip-off if you only got one retainer per account.... Link to comment
Kima wolf Posted July 18, 2010 Share #75 Posted July 18, 2010 I already consider it a ripoff as a RPer I have to purchase extra slots. I wish they'd at least give you enough slots to cover all the races. Or hell two would do lol. Link to comment
