Arrival at the Bismarck [Open]

Croix's moment of satisfaction at seeing his arrow hit the target was short lived as the bar erupted into flames. This was precisely what he had been afraid of. Squinting as the smoke stung his eyes, he tried to seek out a fresh target when his aim was interrupted by first a wet handkerchief being thrust into his hand, then his cuff being tugged on as he was pulled away from the bar. He nodded to himself, the woman had the right idea...to stay in amongst these flames would be certain death and little could be done now that things had progressed this far. They made their way out, bumping into several others that Croix was unable to see through the smoke until they finally emerged into the safety of the street outside. As his cuff was released, he wiped his eyes and took stock of his surroundings.

Mages attempting to quell the blaze...guards starting the investigations as to who started it. Not a good thing to be caught up in, Croix decided...he and his temporary allies were innocent, but far too often he had encountered guards that employed a "punch in the face and arrest first, decide how they're guilty later" mentality and all his instincts told him that now was a good time to slip away. Nevertheless, he had just fought alongside the ranger and the other woman had assisted him in escaping the blaze and he felt uneasy at the thought of just abandoning them. He addressed his companion, looking around for sight of the other ranger. "I suppose I'd best be done quickly with the introductions. My name is Croix Reinard, I know this city well. It would be in our best interests not to get caught up in this...one tends to survive by staying off the map, as it were. If you wish, I can lead you someplace safe for the time being...once your friend emerges, of course."

Ryelle turned to the miqo'te and gave a small shake of her head. "I'm terribly sorry, but I've no idea where the owners might be in all of this mess, though I'd imagine they'd be near the rear entrance as the fire hasn't seemed to reach it." She gave the tiniest smirk as the other woman winked at the guard. "And yes, I suppose there are a few upsides to trouble turned nasty. As for what happened, as you said, the mother of all food-fights escalated abit beyond control. Plus some insane highlander decided to throw caution to the wind and burn the building down as the quickest way to end the mess I suppose... Sorry I couldn't be of more help, good luck with your supplie collection, and enjoy the pleasanter sights of the aftermath." She gave a small nod of her head as goodbye and looped her arm through Croix's.

"Lead on, Mister Reinard. We'll look for my associate and get on the way to your hideaway." She set a worried smile in place and looked around the scene for the archer and her hawk.

(( *hopes following this all correctly and stretches out the characters legs* Also hoping that I can do this in the game. ))

Mayhem, carnage, looks like a mess hit here and hit hard. Though it was hard to say for the newcomer to this area and perhaps even a tad lost. The tall Duskwight Elezen walked into the area. His violet-blue eyes looked around, careful how he stepped. He wore mostly what looked to be black leather armor, and lance equipped to his backside.

His hair had some bangs around his face, with ear tails that went down past his chin. His hair pulled back into a pony tail. The bangs and a bit of highlight in his hair was that of blondish gold color, which the rest of his hair was black.

Closing his eyes for a moment, he then crossed his arms over his chest, before shifting his weight to one side, "This may be a silly question but.." He then raises a black eye-brow, "Is everything ok?"

Yes, asking this with a burned down building, people probably trying to figure out what was going on, much like himself, yep--

That was indeed a silly question. Score one for idiot questions!

The Ranger strode quickly as possible out of what was once the Bismarck, behind several coughing survivors from the blaze carrying an unconscious man over one of her shoulders as her hawk rested on the other. she pulled the cloth down from her mouth coughing a bit as she tried to inhale the smokeless air. she laid the man down by the others she had found and lead out. They seemed to be the last few as she found struggling to find their way out in their coughing fits and burning eyes. Knelt down beside them passing a canteen of water from one to another as they panted and tried to clear their lungs. patting one on the shoulder.

"Stay here and keep an eye on him" She indicated to the passed out man as she searched out for medical help, Catching sight of a physician that was called to the scene she spoke quickly to him and directed him to the group of people she had led out. Her haw screech lowly and she gently stroked the hawk's head as his feathers started to settle down again.

Aveline watched the finely dressed woman and her companion walked off calmly from the ruins of the Bismarck. "Burned it down to end the fight..." she murmured to herself, wonderingly. Her brow furrowed together in annoyance. "I came all the way out here to this stinking, slimy, city for NOTHING?! May Rhalgr take the lot of you!" She yelled to, it seemed, the entire population of Limsa-Lominsa before stomping off back the way she came in search of a room for the night. She'd sort out a carriage ride back to Ul'dah in the morning. And try to find one of those neat three-corner hats that seemed so fashionable in this region.

The Duskwight remained confused, very confused, however he did spot someone who came into the Tavern, though dry remarked back to the barkeeper(?), "..I wouldn't set fire to anything, unless it was to burn a corpse."

With that the Duskwight made his way over to Siben who just rested their head down on the table top. His boots could be heard hitting the floor, as he wasn't masking himself from not being heard.

"Excuse me," He addresses with a smile, "What-- happened? I mean, that looks pretty bad.." He then sighs softly before rubbing the back of his neck. "..unless your as clueless as I am.."

Then he mutters softly, "..which just be my luck.."

Siben gave a sigh, having just put his head down and not willing to pick it back up yet. He spoke loudly into the table so whoever was standing there could hear him,

"Three men came in, one with glasses and a fencing sword, one very large...thing...with two large maces, and one baldie. Shortly after a small mob came in to meet with them, something happened and they started a brawl. Which spread to the rest of the establishment. One of the men cast a powerful fire spell that started the blaze."

He picked his head up and looked up at the person, "Good enough?"

The duskwight raises a brow at the explanation before he frowns a bit, "Sounds awfully exciting." said with a sarcastic tone in his voice. "..I'm surprised someone didn't give them the boot before things got kind of ugly. Do.." He pauses for a moment, "..nevermind.."

The duskwight hrms softly before he grins, "Mind if I have a seat here? New around the area, traveled in, told this was the best place to go to-- find work, if anything else. Youthful around the collar perhaps, but I have my skills." He then lowers his eyes slightly, "..Though.. none to help those people.."

"Oh yes!" He then smirks, "The name is Vaelyn, Vaelyn Nykrah."

Siben extends a hand to one of the empty chairs. He looks over his shoulder to the woman leaning against the wall, "Y-You're more than welcome to join us as well....if you like." He smiled weakly at the woman, hoping she would come sit as well to take the pressure of having a conversation off of him.

He nods to the man, "I just arrived in town myself...hell of a place."

Vaelyn took a seat and rested his arms on the table, then watched as the other joined them. He examined her for a quick moment, before closing his eyes in thought. "Hell of a place indeed. Hopefully those who have gotten hurt have proper attention."

Vaelyn then opens his violet-blue eyes before sitting back in his chair. Then looks the lady once more who has joined them, "And what may your name be, Miss?"

Kain noticed that, for all of the destruction that had taken placed inside, there were still several people filtering back in. Though a good portion of the bar was scorched, another half had gone saved by the efforts of the militia and conjurers who'd doused the inferno into lifelessness. He did not prefer to go back in, instead sitting on the street outside, one the guards coming up to him to interrogate him. They'd likely do the same to all the rest inside.

"You know anything of this?" asked the guard, only half appearing like he cared.

Kain spoke from beneath his black mask, still clutching his broken ribs. "Two parties, one led by a man in black armor named Galatius, the other by a bald man and his two escorts, one a thin fencer and the other a giant Hyur. The giant's name is Goobbue, I recognized him, he's a former prisoner of the Garelan Empire. Nothing to be messed around with."

"Thank you for your cooperation, citizen." With that, the guard walked into the tavern. Kain was glad to just take a breath, and prepared to depart. He'd had enough of Limsa Lominsa. Ul'dah was beckoning.

Revanoth overlooked Celgad closely, the Rogaedyn preparing to depart down the alleyway, and he approached the younger highlander. "...Hold on." He said quietly, the two highlanders began to get the attention of the guards who had been interrogating the others, and it would not be long before more touble brewed. Celgad began to shake his head at Revan, "What the hell are you doing?!" The younger highlander exclaimed, "We need to go!"

Revan's cerulean eyes rested upon Celgad, he stood there for a long moment... too long, studying the man's eyes as the militia men began to close in on them slowly and with caution. "I've had a change of heart, Celgad. I don't believe my meeting with Lengalad will be recieved to warmly by him. Instead, you will bring him to me." Celgad's expression became bitter and he replied venomously. "...thats not how it works, Revan. You want to meet with him, you come in under our watch."

"Mind your tongue, young one..." Revan said as he approached Celgad closer, his sword still at his side. "...your brother will come, and you will play a bigger part in this game than you will ever understand." Revan rested his left gauntleted hand upon Celgad's shoulder, what seemed a gesture of kindness for a moment, sub-sequentially raising the tip of his nodachi towards the center of the young highlander's chest cavity. He thrusted the blade through Celgad's heart, pulling him into it with his other hand. Celgad began to gasp for air as cold steel met with his flesh, his eyes resting upon Revan with confusion of his unforeseen betrayal. As Celgad began to collapse, Revan caught him in his arms, and slowly lowered the highlander to the ground, holding his head in his lap for a moment, looking down into Celgad's eyes.

"W....why... Revan?" The young highlander gasped, coughing up blood, all life within him almost instantly after fluttering away.

Now the Militia had completely surrounded Revan, shouting orders to him to stand down and drop his weapon, all that were unheard from his ears.

"...Because... all things come to an end..." Revan whispered as he raised his hand and grazed it down Celgad's face, closing the young highlander's eyelids.

Revan did not listen to the orders as they were made, but he did not resist either as a group of three or four moved in and pulled him away from Celgad's corpse. The Rogaedyn watched what had taken place, dark eyes resting upon Revan with a menacing glare, but they did not dare to interfere while the militia was upon them. They turned disappearing into the darkness of the alleyway as Revan was held down against the ground by five or six militia-men as they shackled him and began to drag him off. Revan's eyes finally rested upon Kain just before he was drug off out of sight, and a rare sickly grin curved on the corner of his lips silently, as the militia began to drag Revan off away from the scene of the crime. One-Eye would soon hear about this, and the war that would spark between Revan and Lengalad would soon begin.

Croix nodded to his new companion and made his way over to the ranger who was now within his sights, tending to her hawk. With the well-dressed woman on his arm, he placed a hand softly on the ranger's shoulder.

"My friend, my name is Croix Reinard. Your companion has agreed to the wisdom of leaving before people start asking too many questions. I have a place we can go until all this blows over...would you care to accompany us? It would do us well to disguise our part in all this." Croix was interrupted by a heavy blow to his back, sending him stumbling forwards. He straightened himself, not bothering to turn around. He knew that particular blow. Not an attack, but a greeting from one who didn't know his own strength. "Hello, Wandering Lion. I see the runner found you." The hulking Roegadyn sea wolf behind Croix let out a bellowing laugh, obvious muscles under his loose-fitting shirt shaking as he did so.

"She did a'that mate! An' I come rushin' me way up 'ere t'find ye flirtin' wit' one pretty young thing wit' an'o'er one on ye arm alre'dy!" His accent was very thick, dropping letters from words without a forethought. He was quite difficult to understand unless one paid close attention, or was familiar with his speech pattern. "I reckon ye been payin' attention ta t'Cap'n if ye be able t'pull this one off!" Croix sighed deeply and shook his head, turning to face his friend while not releasing the woman from his arm.

"Wrong as usual, my friend. As you can tell, there was quite a bit of excitement here tonight. These two fought well alongside me and I've offered them sanctuary for the time being." Wandering Lion nodded.

"Aye, well Ty's off takin' care o'business so's I ain't seein' 'im objectin' any time soon. 'sides, e' ain't the type t'turn down a pretty lady or two now, is 'e?" Wandering Lion let out another bellowing laugh. "Me name's Wanderin' Lion, ladies. Quartermaster o' the Phoenix Flame, but I reckon' Croix 'ere 'as told ye all about us by now, eh? Well, c'mon! Ain't no time t'lose!" He turned to the ranger and offered her his arm, not noticing the vicious glare Croix shot him.

Doc watched the scene unfold and watched as "Wandering Lion" entered the scene. "Hmm..." he rubbed his chin in thought. "Well this certainly saves me a trip." Doc appraoched the small group. "Excuse me my large hulking friend." He called out to Wandering Lion. "I dont suppose you could do me a favour could you?" Doc produced a small playing card from his pocket and handed it out to the the large Roegadyn. "You wouldn't be a chum and hand that to your captain would you? I would do it myself but he is proving an elusive one to find. Always sailing here and there, so very hard to pin down you seafaring folk."

Doc smiled and nodded in the direction of the two women. "Forgive me I seem to have forgotten some... well I'll get around to everyone eventually." Doc turned back to the Roegadyn. "So? What do ya say? If it helps I can offer a few coins for your trouble, but it is important it gets to him."

Stiffening slightly at the roegadyn's words, Ryelle's eyes narrowed faintly but the smile never left its place.

"Of course you're a pirate... With the Phoenix Flame no less. How lovely. Perhaps your hideaway will have a view of the entire port then." She glanced at the ranger almost apologetically, then raised a brow to the odd looking hyur. "I'm positive you've nothing for me, sir, though I'm sorry you've forgotten the rest of your cards. Do excuse us but we must get moving before guards or anyone else decides to approach."

By the time the woman had given her response Siben had already pulled his book of legends and lore out again, thumbing back to the section he left off on as he tried to flag down one of the employees who had either returned or not fled the blaze.

"Hello?" he jingled some gil, "Drinks? You are still open yes?"

"Loki huh?" He grins at the name. "That seems like a nice name." The Duskwight was at least trying to be nice, even though it seemed the woman was not the talkative sort.

"You remind me of a friend I once had, he wasn't very talkative. He once told me I talked to much, but I mean, how can you learn anything about anyone if your not willing to talk right?"

Vaelyn then took notice of the book that got brought out and blinked his eyes a few times, "..nice book.. what is it?"

((damnit))

Shamad trudged back the Bismark. If everyone was going to be there to gawk at the damage, he might as well too. He walked through the hole where doors had been and sat at a table, muttering to himself as was his habit. He didn't know what to say to anyone so he didn't say anything. As his mother had always said "It's better to be quiet and be thought an idiot than to open your mouth and confirm it."
