Xerek Devereux Posted July 11, 2013 Share #27 Posted July 11, 2013 Mmm, ice cream and pie! Gonna have to move the belt another notch. *sigh* I'm thankful for the welcome, and maturity. I have been part of several MMO communities, and I have run across many nice ones, but none that have come close to the FF XI one. It's encouraging to see this community may be just as good, if not better, then that. It's just...well, I missed that. Link to comment
Vee Posted July 11, 2013 Share #28 Posted July 11, 2013 I think a community this big will occasionally butt heads but it's only because everyone tries to get their point across and yes, sometimes it can be hard to agree with others, but it's good to have everyone have their equal share of opinion and what they think is best so it can all be considered by us together - the community. With that said, I have enjoyed my time here, whether it has been lurking (which I do a lot of, I'm not /too/ big of a fan of posting frequently), but I do spend a lot of time here whether people realize it or not. Your friendly neighborhood lurky Lalafel! n-n Anyways, I look forward to many more months/years whatever to come and hope whatever bumps come our way we can cruise over. Let's just all be considerate and thankful we have such a great website and so many great roleplayers and artists in our midst. Also, a /hi5 to all you lurkers lurking out there who just ghost the forums to gather information and see where rp is being had, etc. And again, the community would be nothing without our wonderful moderators as well as each new person who walks through the gate of the RPC. Cheers! Link to comment
Alothia Posted July 11, 2013 Share #29 Posted July 11, 2013 We're family here. You may not like the choices your family makes, you may not always get along with family, but you love them all the same. We just need to remember that. We are all a part of the RP family. Causing rifts that can't be healed is never needed. I love all of you guys, and hope that we can make it through to release without too much more drama. Remember guys, help keep the peace. Don't be a part of the problem, be part of the solution! 1 Link to comment
Xha'li Moui Posted July 14, 2013 Share #30 Posted July 14, 2013 *backs up cart and unloads a few "borrowed" barrels of ale* This is only the second real gaming community I've joined, and it has been vary welcoming. Thought I'd repay the favor by sharing some Glastonbury Ale. This boar definitely feels right at home here. Link to comment
Lren Posted July 20, 2013 Share #31 Posted July 20, 2013 Think everything nice has already been said. It's still just pleasant to be around like-minded and friendly individuals, a nice breath of fresh air to come to after a long and tiring day. Link to comment
C'io Behkt Posted July 20, 2013 Share #32 Posted July 20, 2013 This has been the most friendly, open, and accepting community of roleplayers I have ever had the pleasure of walking into as a complete stranger to everyone. I have never made friends as fast as I have here nor ever been integrated so quickly into the community. I know that there will be arguments, disagreements, and the usual trouble brewing under the surface somewhere, but I firmly believe that, no matter what, this community is comprised of good people who will never allow such clashes to affect what matters most--treating each other and all newcomers with respect and good cheer. Let's continue to support one another going forward so I can get my three-year commitment badge too! (Six for some of the rest of you, hehe.) Three more years! Link to comment
RhotanoBlues Posted July 20, 2013 Share #33 Posted July 20, 2013 Most of the things I wanted to say have been already said, including the initial qualms on what the community will be like. While the forums I joined before weren't terrible towards me, there was this air of "I don't know you, I don't care about you" and were generally cold towards newcomers (and even to each other). Needless to say I didn't get that here. It's mainly because of how friendly people are here that I try to be as active as I can (more active than I've ever been in previous forums actually). I'm glad to be a part of this wonderful community. Thank you so much for accepting me. :] ..buhh I don't know how to quote in the middle of a post. orz Lemme copy-paste.. like in the olden days... Posted by Uther - 07-04-2013 12:14 PM "..I'm glad I found a gaming community that I actually enjoy being a part of. People like you all are the reason I want to settle in FFXIV and stop MMO-hopping." I realized just now that RPC is one of the reasons why I decided to go ahead and get FFXIV (I'm a pretty casual gamer who mostly stuck to F2Ps haha...-looks away-). And the statement above reflects exactly what my thoughts about this game are at the moment. :] Link to comment
FreelanceWizard Posted July 20, 2013 Share #34 Posted July 20, 2013 You know what I like best about the RPC? It's like we're all in an open air coffee shop, sipping our drinks, chatting about the world, and waving new people over to say hello, give them a free cup or two, and sit them down so we can listen to their stories and insist that they put in their two cents on the discussion so we can expand our horizons. I've never across all the MMOs I've played (going all the way back to EQ1) met such a great, open, welcoming, and most importantly mature group of people, and I'm proud to be a part of it. tl;dr: Much love to all. Lenana Posted July 20, 2013 Share #35 Posted July 20, 2013 *Jimmy Fallon "Thank You Note" music* Thank you, RPC, for giving me a home on the Balmung server in which I can find some of the best roleplay I have ever found. Thank you, RPC, for helping me become a better roleplayer. Thank you, RPC, for giving me a community in which I feel comfortable around Okay, seriousness... The RPC is one of the best communities I have ever been in. Every guild I have been in on WoW? It fell apart due to drama and died. This community... Yes, we have arguments, but we truly are like a family and do not let that separate us. We get over it and go on, being friends just the same. And truth be told? I consider some of y'all as close as family. The ones I don't? We just need to talk more. I promise I have no grudges against ANYONE here. Again, thank you, RPC. May we roleplay on till the end of Eorzea. Link to comment

Flamel Eldgamel Posted July 21, 2013 Share #37 Posted July 21, 2013 I'm thankful for being able to help a new server get its legs, for being able to say to other people that "NOW THE RPC HAS TWO GREAT SERVERS INSTEAD OF ONE". This is how everyone should feel about the new server. Balmung should see Gilgamesh as its cousin server, not its competition, and vice versa. I can't wait for all of this to settle down so we can go back to arguing about stupid small things we get over in 5 seconds. This is awesome. Also, I like the RPC better than any other community I've been a part of, and I haven't even RPed with anyone yet! I can't wait until phase 4! Everyone here has been so welcoming to me, and all the other new people! And for that I am grateful, Namaste! <-Obscure reference... Phase 4 can't come soon enough! Flamel needs to make some friends! Kylin Posted July 21, 2013 Share #38 Posted July 21, 2013  for all~ You're all amazing. While we have our share of drama and disagreements from time to time, the community always comes together in the end. Everyone ultimately wants what's best for the RPC, even if they may disagree on what's best every now and then. But we've continued to persevere through everything so far, which says a lot on its own. I sometimes hear RPers from other MMO communities mention how dramatic it is over here. To them (and I know some of them are reading), I only have this to say: Hello pot, meet kettle. The fact that some want to pretend that they don't deal with the same exact issues is hilarious to say the least. Every MMO's RP community (and even regular communities in general) has their share of drama after the initial honeymoon period. Thanks to all of you for your continued support to this community. It is because of all of you that RP in Eorzea can continue to thrive openly. Here's to years of memories yet to come! 8-) 1 Link to comment
Asyria Posted July 21, 2013 Share #39 Posted July 21, 2013 Sure we seem to have drama when all one reads is the drama is... but we have fewer of them, feewer threads locked and less intense drama than any other mmo community I've been part of. And I'm allowed to politely stir the pot every now and then without being branded a heretic! I tell you guys, this is like the ponyville of mmo communities. Love and tolerance for all!
