I'm going Male Hyur.  I like their naming convention the best and I'm very particular about my character names.  I considered male Miqo'te but their tribal thing doesn't appeal to me.  Yeah, yeah I know I can roll up one that grew up in the city but I like to keep my guys away from being outliers when it comes to their backgrounds.

Wow, I knew Male Miqo'te were popular, but they are almost 25% at this point.

I picked Female Hyur (Midlander to be specific) as that will likely be my main. I may add a Female Miqo'te down the road, but I want to try to stick to one character.

When you consider that the females are almost as popular the Miqo'te population is so far over a third of what has been shown.

I'm just glad that Keepers are less popular than Seekers so at least I'm not at the very top,  Will be rolling other alts as well though.

Also it's really interesting to see how the results have shifted a bit since the census only a few months back what with the influx of RPers that have joined the community since that time.

I guess I'll say Mali is my main for now...she has an actual LS to party with, after all.

To be fair, Tiv is another male Miqo'te, but I was playing male Miqo'te before it was cool! /hipster

This does give me ideas for more alts, though...

No love for the Lalafell, it seems. :)

I voted "not sure yet" because, to be honest, I haven't finalized a character concept yet. That said, I do like the lore of the miqo'te and the opportunity for that to spawn some conflict RP (since every miqo'te is going to have some opinion on their traditional culture -- love it, hate it, or ignorant of it), and of course their emotes are rockin'.

However, I might end up playing Roegadyn, just because for one of my concepts, it'd be a little weird.

Only 4 other male lalas to hang out with?

Come on. Nobody can resist the lala forever. You'll forsake your miqo'te ways soon enough and return to the one true path.

My alt is going to be a male Lalafell. What worries me, though, is that the more I work on him, the more I like him. I pray that he doesn't end up becoming my main. I would have to hang my head in shame.

Well, I originally voted as undecided, but then I came up with an interesting character named Manfred/Alfred Quillarts (haven't decided on whether to go with Manfried or Alfred) who happens to be a male highland hyur. Since my old characters were all thaumaturges, I decided to go with a scholarly background and choose the surname/title accordingly. It took quite a bit of time to arrive at Quillarts, as I was first going with Blackfeather, Whitefeather, or featherlight based on his scholarly tool, the quill. Personally, Manfred Blackfeather sounds pretty cool (A quill heavily saturated with ink = Blackfeather). I guess I could also go with Blackquill... and now my brain is running through names again.

Edit: I'm finding that the more succinct names are holding greater appeal to me, so I'm just going to stick with Ranolf Weise. If I name my character something crazy, I've got the feeling I'll start regretting it later down the road.

Wait, how do you know this? Is there another survey or something that I'm not aware of?

(Also something being less popular is a really poor reason to prefer something, just sayin')

Nothing poor about it, some people simply prefer to not be "yet another [insert most popular choice here" if they can avoid it. I think most of us love having as much appearance customization as possible to avoid looking like everyone else, na matter the race we pick, too.

I used to be like that and I still  enjoy being a rarer sight, but it's just not a big deal for me anymore because in a mmorps, there will be tons of everything, anyway.

Well put. I hate being the most popular of anything just because I want there to be a good deal of diversity (seven hells, there's supposed to be more Hyur than anything, and a good deal less catfolk). I fell in love with the Keeper style, even though I am usually an elf in EVERYTHING (MMOs, tabletops, you name it). I just don't like seeing a million of me running about.
