Judgment Posted July 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 12, 2013 I would like to ask which server is the most suitable one, RP-wise, for an european roleplayer? As someone who lives in Turkey and plays mostly at night, I fear that I wont be seeing too much of a RP. Any answers greatly appreciated. Link to comment

Moogle & Shiva seem to be popular though. Link to comment
Judgment Posted July 12, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted July 12, 2013 Ah, I see, I see...Well if none of these servers are actually in Europe, then may I ask your thoughts regarding moving to Balmung or perhaps Gilgamesh? Even on a different timezone, I presume one will still find RP activities more than one can find in his timezome in Moogle, right? Link to comment
Naunet Posted July 12, 2013 Share #4 Posted July 12, 2013 Well non of the servers are actually in Europe. Moogle & Shiva seem to be popular though. But those servers probably won't have roleplayers. OP, I think Balmung is going to end up with the largest population of roleplayers, so you're more likely to find folk playing in your times there than you would elsewhere. Link to comment
Havoc Snow Posted July 12, 2013 Share #5 Posted July 12, 2013 Well non of the servers are actually in Europe. That's actually not true, Cerberus, Moogle, Odin, Shiva, and Ragnarok all have European Data Centers. As far as a European RP server, your best bet is still Balmung or Gilgamesh. Link to comment
Rinh Hallani Posted July 12, 2013 Share #6 Posted July 12, 2013 I'm in the UK and going on Balmung. I'm on Moogle for the beta right now but haven't seen any RP. At least on Balmung, even if there's fewer people on during the times I'm playing, I'll be much more likely to run into RPers. Link to comment
Judgment Posted July 12, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted July 12, 2013 Ah, many thanks for quick replies, friends! You have saved me, literally, from being away from RP which is...well, kinda bad for a RPer, aint it? Hehe. Again, thanks a lot for the quick replies! Link to comment
Jijinji Posted July 12, 2013 Share #8 Posted July 12, 2013 Eh I just did a quick Google search for FFXIV role play server and on some forums people where talking about the Moogle server. It would be best just to do Gilga or Balmung. There are always people playing. Also sorry for the bad information. Link to comment
Asyria Posted July 12, 2013 Share #9 Posted July 12, 2013 Officially, RPC supports both Balmung and Gilgamesh. As mentionned, none of the servers are physically located in Europe (the non-japanese one is in Montreal) so lag will be the same everywhere. There used o be just the one in Japan, but on June 6th, a second one in Montreal was announced. Refer to this Lodestone thread. It's true that some are "recommended for EU" but this recommendation probably exists only to put a label for europeans to congregate (much like how we put RP labels on Balm and Gilg, I guess). It mostly just depends whether having pre-established characters from 1.0 around bothers you or appeals to you. Link to comment
Savarah Posted July 12, 2013 Share #10 Posted July 12, 2013 I'm also throwing my support behind Gilgamesh or Balmung. Most players (especially RPers) play at abnormal hours. If you're in it for the RP, that's the way to go. Link to comment
Judgment Posted July 13, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted July 13, 2013 Ah, I see, I see! Well, since I consider myself abnormal, I sure am glad to see others play at abnormal hours! Oh well, see you mates in Balmung then! If you see a Roegadyn named Silent Mountain who has no clue what in Seven Hells he is doing, feel free to poke him! Link to comment
Sienna Posted July 13, 2013 Share #12 Posted July 13, 2013 I'm from the UK and I play on Balmung. :3 So there's at least a few of us with similar timezones to you. Link to comment
Judgment Posted July 13, 2013 Author Share #13 Posted July 13, 2013 Wonderful! Perhaps we might bump into each other...with you getting crushed by my Roegadyn frame! BWAHAHAHA! HAHAHA... Ahem... Dont mind me. Link to comment
Alothia Posted July 13, 2013 Share #14 Posted July 13, 2013 Looking forward to seeing you on Balmung! If your Roe is looking for work, send them to Alothia! She's always looking for more people to hire! Link to comment
Judgment Posted July 13, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted July 13, 2013 Ah, thank you, thank you! Once I have my background ready, I might pay a visit to you, a bodyguard needs a... Uh...a body to protect, I suppose, to ensure the gil flow. Link to comment
