Nox Posted August 13, 2013 Share #51 Posted August 13, 2013 No love for the Rune Fencer? I think they should make a great sword class, then have Dark Knight and Rune Fencer be the jobs. That could be just me, but man... I love the Rune Fencer's design. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120624084044/finalfantasy/images/1/11/Hume_M_Rune_Fencer.png[/img] Come on. Make it happen! That's not a real Rune Fencer. This is a real Rune Fencer. Actually, fun fact - the artist who did the above image is the same artist for XIV. The Rune Fencer I linked above is from Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. I also believe that most of the team who worked on that game is currently working on XIV so we might see some carry overs from there. It's not a Final Fantasy title, but TO:LUCT served as the precursor to Final Fantasy Tactics which is very much its spiritual successor and ended up serving as much of the foundation which some of the jobs in XI were derived from. This is their Dark Knight, in-game known as Terror Knight. This is Diego Galet Azalstan. His class is Buccaneer. Looks a little similar to Red Mage, no? Red Mage with a gun. Also this fan made concept art for red mage Maybe we'll see ninja... Or perhaps the three images to the right (the one on the left is Limsa's GC gear) might be Blue Mage, Dark Knight, and Beast Master. Or they could just be Ul'dah's GC gear, who knows. 1 Link to comment
Artorias D'Argent Posted August 13, 2013 Share #53 Posted August 13, 2013 Basically I would like to see any and all the Final Fantasy job classes. Even if they add jobs I am not particularly interested in, I just love to see more variety around the game. I totally agree, but if anything I'd like to see the Dark Knight, I miss my FF11 character Link to comment

That would be amazing as the second Lancer Job class. Link to comment

Niteshade_Rune Posted August 15, 2013 Share #59 Posted August 15, 2013 1. Dark Knight 2. Geomancer 3. Dancer 4. Thief 5. Samurai 6. Chemist 7. Red Mage Throw in Ninja and Beastmaster and this sounds like a wonderful list heh. I do think tho weaponry wise, we totally need a greatsword or dual blade/weapon using class first. the greatsword is one we are certainly lacking. Nothing against the Marauder and the 2h axes. I'm partial to swords, my fists and scythes tho heh. I used gladiator back in 1.0 and never touched a shield, just bladed away with a free hand heh. Link to comment
halceeuhn Posted August 15, 2013 Share #60 Posted August 15, 2013 I want a thief class T-T It'd be awesome to roleplay my character learning how to be a thief Link to comment
LandStander Posted August 15, 2013 Share #61 Posted August 15, 2013 1. Thief 2. Fencer 3. Beastmaster 4. Geomancer 5. Time Mage or some kind of hard support class. But seriously, just give me thief and I'll be happy. Edit: Speaking of Fencer and 1.0 DAT files; there was also the file for Shepard in there which I hope they end up turning into a Beastmaster class. I don't think those two files exist in the 2.0 beta files that we have seen so far though. How was the Beastmaster in XI? And people have been telling me that Bard in XI is better than Bard in XIV is that true? And god I could I forget Time Mage and Geomancer. Time mage would make an excellent CC class. Beastmaster could charm/tame most monsters in the wild which was extremely helpful and the only class that was capable of any decent form of soloing as fighting anything above a tough on any job was basically a form of suicide (you could check monsters levels and they come back as too weak, easy prey, even match, tough, very touch, incredibly tough, depending on your level and theirs). Heck, soloing a tough was pretty damn risky and very difficult. They also had items that could summon special forms of monsters that leveled alongside the beastmaster. I only got my beastmaster to the mid 50's though as my charms sometimes missed monsters and then they would get upset and kill me. I couldn't handle the constant death, hahaha, but I really did enjoy the class. And yes, Bard was way better in XI. It was a very heavy support class that could cast AoE songs that ranged from sleep, regening hp and mp (it was necessary to have a class that could regen everyones mp), increase attack/spell power/accuracy, and weaken monsters to certain elements. You could only have two songs on the enemy and two on the party though. Playing the class was all about positioning as you wanted your casters to have MP refresh and your melee to have attack power up/accuracy up/whatever and your songs only had a certain range from your body. So you had to keep up two songs on everyone (separating people into small groups since most buff songs were AoE and you didn't want to give melee MP refresh) which wore off after a few minutes, then sometimes had to pull monsters in between all of that, helping with back up heals if your sub job was a white mage, and occasionally doing a bit of crowd control if monsters linked together when you pulled them back to camp.. And some people on the beta forums say that there was no strategy and skill in XI hogwash. Bards were way weaker in XI than in XIV and had basically no real DPS output, but I remember PvPing against one and he was a giant pain in the ass. He was a Bard/Red Mage and would weaken me against elements (like earth) and then disable and debuff the hell out of me (casting slow which is an earth based debuff). Overall I definitely think bard in XI was a lot better than what we have now, but I am slightly biased as I love playing support classes. Link to comment
