Dravus Posted September 9, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2013 Interesting stuff! I'm looking forward to the addition of player housing and the golden saucer the most, I think. I haven't finished the main story quests yet, but I do hope they'll be continued with each new patch. Link to comment
Clover Posted September 10, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2013 Ah, only Limsa Lominsa houses will be available? I wanted to live in Gridania ;_; On the other hand, this will give me more time to farm my money, which is a very, very slow process for me. Link to comment
erosskye Posted September 10, 2013 Share #6 Posted September 10, 2013 I am really hoping for some tetra cards 8-) Link to comment
Swift Nightclaw Posted September 11, 2013 Share #8 Posted September 11, 2013 With them drawing from other games to include little things here and there and Lightning/Snow outfits being in later on, I wouldn't be surprised to see Auron's outfit as a cosmetic option at some point. Link to comment

Drawing on the previous games is a FF staple. Though I won't object to an Auron outfit...only if they introduce Seymour/Yuna outfits for Summoners. Link to comment
YesGood Posted September 11, 2013 Share #10 Posted September 11, 2013 How much do we think it'll cost for housing? Link to comment
Lost River Posted September 11, 2013 Share #11 Posted September 11, 2013 How much do we think it'll cost for housing? A lot of people are speculating around 300K+ gil for housing. But you can have LS/FC housing AND personal. And personal you can invite people over. Looks like you're the one moving in then! Link to comment
Jael'li Posted September 11, 2013 Share #12 Posted September 11, 2013 Mmmyes, housing! I can finally have my own bachelor kitty pad. *Steeples fingers* Link to comment

Guess I better go find a guide on how to make gil. If one even exists yet. NO BACHELOR KITTY PAD FOR JOO! Link to comment
Hansem Wildsteel Posted September 12, 2013 Share #14 Posted September 12, 2013 Interesting first tidbits, but for me It does not seem to be a lot for content patches. I mean how many different times can you recycle the primals fights...they are all very similar. I love the game, but for me, I would love to gear up in raids. The 24 man should be where its at, and I hear they dont even drop loot, so adding others will not mean much if they dont add great loot to them. Anyhow, really enjoying myself now, but I hope endgame is for me when I reach it. Link to comment
Akashi Posted September 15, 2013 Share #15 Posted September 15, 2013 It's good they are adding more content in so soon, but I am hoping that these patch details only refer to the content parts of the patch as that seems like they were the only things being discussed. More concerned about quality of life features and vanity slots (and more jobs, but that's a long way off I'm sure). Link to comment

Chisae Posted September 16, 2013 Share #17 Posted September 16, 2013 So when does Gridania and Uldah get their housing... all I see is mention of the Mists. >.> Link to comment
Olofantur Posted September 16, 2013 Share #18 Posted September 16, 2013 So when does Gridania and Uldah get their housing... all I see is mention of the Mists. >.> I'd love to say 2.2, but perhaps it will be wrapped up with 2.3 along with the Gold Saucer? 2.1 seems to look at a combination Primals/Raid/Quest/PvP 2.2 More Primal possibly Gilgamesh and some Freecompany end-game tweaking 2.3 Will perhaps address more-quality of life? Of course the [speculation] flag is loud and proud, but I would also argue that like the Alpha providing exclusively the Shroud and Gridania, The "Mists" are likely as much as a demo as a release. seeing how the function works, how the people respond/interact. What they didn't think of, what they under-estimated etc. I really want my home in Thanalan though  Link to comment
Chisae Posted September 16, 2013 Share #19 Posted September 16, 2013 I will be homeless until Gridania homes are released, that's all there is to it. Link to comment
Dravus Posted September 16, 2013 Share #20 Posted September 16, 2013 Has there been any confirmation as to whether or not we'll be able to change our character's city state when player housing is implemented? J'hared started in Ul'dah because I wanted him to be a gladiator...but I vastly prefer Limsa Lominsa in terms of aesthetics and atmosphere. I'd be pretty disappointed if I had to reroll entirely just to be able to live there and I don't care much for having a house in Ul'dah. It'd be a major blow to my enthusiasm for this game if we can't change our character's city state when player housing is implemented. Link to comment

I was under the assumption that housing purchase had neither to do with your City starting state, nor your Grand Company allegiance. (In part because during the Grand Company quests they state that you'll be able to change what company you re with and because I imagine A Free company founded by a member of Gridania but aligned to Limsa would be peeved having to offer up ownership to purchase the house and switch back.) Of course I wouldn't put all my hopes in such, but I don't think that will be the case, so far Yoshi-p has been pretty open about what limitations will be included when selecting something unalterable in the past. Side note, Are you familiar with Fantasia? I'm not, but if its like the reset at phase 4 you'd be able to change your starting city that way if the worst does occur. I'll admit i'm fortunate in liking Ul'dah and having it as my home since I re-rolled in 1.0 so I don't know much about cross region accessibility. Link to comment
Dravus Posted September 16, 2013 Share #22 Posted September 16, 2013 I haven't been able to find much information regarding exactly what the 'Fantasia' potion does. I've heard there's two separate versions, one given to players who had 1.0 characters and another as a reward for the end of the first month of a subscription. I have my eyes set on the latter, though some people have said you can't change your character's name when using it which makes me a tad wary! If you can change every aspect of your character beyond their classes, however, I'd definitely consider using it. Link to comment
Kylin Posted September 17, 2013 Author Share #23 Posted September 17, 2013 There was a dev post last week regarding switching a character's city-state, and they have confirmed that is indeed likely coming in patch 2.1 ^^ When starting the game and selecting a starting class, you will be assigned to the city-state where that class resides. However, we understand that some users wish to belong to a different city-state even though they started with a specific class. We are currently looking into a system that will allow you to change your city-state affiliation, and we are doing our best to have this ready for patch 2.1. Link to comment

Height, muscletone, hair color/style, voice, male/female, etc. I used my 1.0 one already, but I wasn't paying attention to note if I could change race or not. Well, I'll get another after a month, so I'll see eventually! Link to comment
