I am actually upset and not satisfied with 2.4's Gear Recipes aside from my excitement about Ninja, Shiva and the dungeons.

 

I was rather hoping they'd release Non-Class gears for glamour. But it seems like it'll be class/job restricted again. ._.

 

Also what's with all previous dungeon gears not releasing as craftables? Instead they released the lvl 1 race starting outfits instead. How ridiculous can this get?

 

Not dyeable, and not releasing gears that is Disciple of War/Disciple of Magic is a real turn off for me. Especially when glamour wouldn't let me wear Hussar's Jacket/Fistfighter's Jacket as PLD. I can't even dye these outfits! I am already upset that Wolfram set for LNC/DRG is class restricted when Cavalier exists for PLD/WAR/GLA/MRD. The worst part is it's white only so I am not satisfied.

 

I really don't want to level certain job ONLY to wear these outfits. I am perfectly okay with not able to wear Disciple of Magic gears when I am PLD, but restricting me out of other outfits? Please. I really don't want to wear low level simple gears as of right now and glamour them but I want to glamour these HM dungeon gears - and I'd like to wear something different for colors. 

 

Honestly, I feel like I am the ONLY person who cares about this game not being more lenient on glamour and dyes on certain gears that drop in this game. Though I really think they should fix this if possible.

Honestly, I feel like I am the ONLY person who cares about this game not being more lenient on glamour and dyes on certain gears that drop in this game. Though I really think they should fix this if possible.

 

You're not the only person. But this has been noted with every patch. The trend is, and always has been with MMOs, end-content first, role-play functions last. Take what you can get with each patch, and hope that bigger changes may be made with the next expansion.

You're asking for DoW and DoM restrictions? That causes problems with the way things are itemized. DoW gear would need to include ALL of the martial classes (can't leave out bard!) so they'd need to weigh str/dex/vit. This would make the equipment inferior to specialized versions, blah blah blah etc.

 

We'll likely be getting new craftables in the future to cover cavalry/et al to make those dyeable. Odds are that we're never going to see unrestricted gear that isn't just clothes (like the tux/dresses).

 

Personally, I'd rather have new models than repaints. Repaints can get added later, and I'd rather have more variety now.

I think she just meant unrestricted glamours. We should be able, and I agree, to glamor WHM gear on top of PLD plate for example. It doesn't change the stats of the gear, just the model overlay.

 

And if SE claims that it DOES change the stats, then they have horrible coders for making it that way. Stat code and Image code should be separate modules with no bearing on each other.

I don't like to wear tux in dungeons or RP like that way forever ;_;. It upsets me that I have to have Anelia wear in armor all the time and it frustrates me. She has no other casual clothes to wear because there are nothing that impresses me aside from MNK/DRG outfits or even BRD's Divine oufits.

 

I hope the 2.4 Live Letter from Fanfest will answer more about glamour rules in the future and more dyeable options for these dungeon gears.

EDIT: This. ^ - I just want the gear skin option for glamours. Gears don't need to have DoW/DoM stats.

New Garlean Emperorrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Yay! Means the old jerk died. So hopefully this means new Garlean involvement. Either renewed attacks by the Garleans in a bid to show this Emperor is better than the last (Meaning we get to see more Legions and new Legatuses) or maybe FINALLY you damn Eorzeans will get off your bums and help the Resistance take back Ala Mhigo before this new Emperor can get settled in!! >=U

Ah. Well, there's maybe some small hope for that, but SE's coding has always been a clusterfuck of spaghetti so I don't have my hopes up.

 

The obvious reason they could bring up is that this would be unfair in PVP to misrepresent what class a person is, despite the class being shown over their head.

 

I don't mind it so much, but as someone without any serious alts I don't have a problem grinding for glamours. Hell, I ostensibly leveled pug/mnk just for Grindstone purposes and I barely wear anything beyond pants there.

Should take a look at that clip again btw. The Lv1 Racial starter sets aren't dyed. That's not what they're showing off. They're each wearing a new headgear piece. Hipster glasses, sunglasses, Mistbeard's Mask (um.. how did that find its way out of the bottom of the ocean?), and the femroe is wearing something that looks like a double eye patch with three holes in the middle. So splinter cell or something for you garlean RPers to play with having that third eye.

 

 

EDIT: Also can we talk about that really sexy armor that everyone is wearing in the Shiva Fight. It's not FCOB armor, so possibly the new Expert Dungeon drops?? =o Orrrrr... new Tomestone Gear? Who knows! So many armors coming out! =D

I wish we could dye the lv1 starter gear.

 

Also, the WAR and PLD wear the same armor. I'm hoping it isn't so blue and that's an effect of the arena, but it looks neat.

Looked like reality TV editing to me. Show bed, cut to Nanamo, imply bedroom. Wouldn't be surprised if those scenes are completely unrelated in the scheme of the narrative.

You know, for being her 'personal' elite guard and all, they sure are loathe to include the Sultansworn in these cutscenes. Shouldn't there at least be some generic ones in the background? Even in the Chamber of Rule while the Syndicate is in session, I would expect the room to be lined with them.

Agh those classes and most of all those recipes, that caster recipe in the middle is just amazing!

Ha! No way that's going to be a caster set. Like all of the best sets, that'll be Bard restricted. 

 

However, on the off chance SE decides to be cool for once and let WHM wear it, you're gonna see me become very poor very fast as I purchase a full set of it the moment it hits the MB.
