I've noticed these trends for years. People who claim to want to live in these worlds - the first thing I bring up is the rampant killing the world is filled with.

 

All MMO's play to one basic emotion - lust for power. We don't play them because we want to vanquish evil. We do so because we like the idea of being stronger than we are in real life. To fantasize of having the ability to do what you want, and destroy anyone who stands in your way with little to no consequences.
