Finally got onto Balmung!

So after reading a bit about the game I decided to jump on the free trial, always been a fan of final fantasy and sure enough I love it in MMO format as well! just hit 15 tonight and I'm finally out in the wide world hoping for some rp!

 

I've been on forums for more then 10 years now, running several dnd campaigns offline as well (yes running, not playing in) So while I'd like to think that the concept of roleplaying is nothing new to me playing it out in the context of a video game is something fresh and new for me.

 

I played wow on and off for about 2 years, never got huge into it, I've played several free MMO's over the years since then so I'd put myself somewhere in the middle in terms of mmo experience.

 

My first character is Deehla Violette! Hyur Midlander, currently studying the natural world and the elements, but she is thinking of picking up the sword, her family was rich before the Cataclysm, they lost everything when it hit and she's had to enter the real world, no longer sheltered by a posh lifestyle she has chosen to embrace a wanderlust that has been in her soul since childhood.

 

 

I'd like to keep things light for the most part, but by no means do I want entirely free from, I'm looking to build Dee as a character and form relationships with others, stories and tales of both heroism and the mundane, I'm not looking for people who expect me to know every drop of lore and to follow every rule to a T, nor am I looking for people who like to run around as half-breeds who are also demons and they're always stronger then you no matter what.

Hello there! Welcome to Balmung and XIV in general. And also the RPC, I guess.

 

We're a pretty eclectic bunch here, and while I can't guarantee you won't run into half-demon half-angel werewolves from another dimension who trained under Goku and are best friends with Jon Snow, I'd like to think we've got a pretty balanced set of RP types here. You've got your mundane fantasy types, you've got your super-heroic sorts, you've got your lore sticklers and you've got your canon-ignorers. You're pretty much bound to find someone or something here you like.

 

If you've got any questions, feel free to ask! Everyone here is pretty knowledgeable and tries to help if they can, be it RP stuff, lore stuff, forum stuff, wiki stuff, oreo stuff, or just stuff-stuff.

From what I've seen if you don't have a clear concept of what you want to do, it might be hard finding RP at first but I personally went that route and I'm having a blast. So don't worry about it none.

 

I hear /telling people "You up for RPz?" works well, too.
