Um, my problem wasn't that the skills were limited at low levels. I was simply not very impressed, as I prefer Tera's combat style because it requires teamwork. Also, if I simply want action combat without teamwork, I find Mabinogi:Heroes superior as well (that combat system is just too good and brutal). As for the world, I do find FFXIV's world alive. Not only because NPCs are very well animated, but also because you can find many interesting things and spots in your travels. The fact you can sit at any tavern, restaurant or bench is wonderful (you can even choose between different sitting poses and emotes while doing so!). So it's not just the NPCs but mostly the player characters what make the world feel so alive. To that, add the best emote system I've ever seen in a game, adorable things like house system, mounts that can help you fight, and many other genius ideas SE keeps throwing into the equation with every update, and you get a game that's very, very different than B&S. After playing FFXIV, I just can't find B&S detailed at all ;;;. It feels extremely empty to me, and every new update feels the same as the previous one. It's just a matter of tastes, of course. I guess I've become very picky (blame SE for it).

I came to this thread for the curiosity, and stayed for Firefly. The OP might not deliver, but the thread sure did.

I don't like making alts either, truth be told. I meant temporary ones *nods*. Just lv 1 characters you can use to go to any event, and then decide ^^ As for events and storylines mixing, the event is just another episode in your character's life. So long as your own storyline doesn't contradict it, there's no problem in participating in events. For example, if your character is in jail in your personal storyline, I guess they won't be able to go to the Ul'dah ball *laughs*. In any case, you're the one who knows your personal story the best, so you should decide where your character can and can't go. Events are a lot of fun, so I recommend to always try to find an excuse for your character to participate.
-
If you've seen characters from both servers and still can't decide, then I can only recommend to make an alt in each and try out a couple of events. Maybe that will help you decide where you had the most fun ^^

Trying the new hairstyles, and trying to decide if I should keep it on any of my charas. I'll likely use it for a bit on Clover, then return her to her original self, haha. It's very cute and bishoujo-ish, just like the new hyur pose. I'm so proud of maining a hyur (TxT) (None of the new miqo'te poses suit K'mih...)

Haha, I love how lively this post becomes during the day of maintenance. Very nice screens, everyone! I always enjoy seeing them. (Natalie, your miqo'te is very pretty!)
-
Some screens from the chocobo race event. Sadly, I was too far away to take good ones (X_X) It occurs to me now that I should has asked permission to approach the participants OOCly, just to take any nice screen of them. I regret not having done so. ...And then, it rained.

Would someone be willing to be queen for a day?
Clover replied to Erik Mynhier's topic in RP Discussion
T-that'd be so nice! A while ago, other people and myself suggested the possibility to use this community to also tell a global story, organizing events that would affect everyone and make the world move forward. We could have some sort of a chronicle/calendar that tells how the story we all create unfolds. For example, if any important battle against the imperials happens, or if any Primal reappears. However, it was decided that such a thing couldn't be done because many people would disagree, which I don't get. How can anyone disagree with a chance to have a dynamic world and actual stories to react to? I know it might be difficult to coordinate, but if people keep an open mind and want it to happen, is it really impossible? I guess your event has made me want to suggest such a thing again, haha. Sorry for the spam. orz -
Would someone be willing to be queen for a day?
Clover replied to Erik Mynhier's topic in RP Discussion
This is exactly my problem with RPing in big communities. Nothing *really* happens in the world. The last occurrence that could make our characters react was the Calamity 5 years ago; there's nothing beyond that because the game story doesn't work for most, and I guess it'd be very difficult to coordinate many people into believing in a common story that could affect everyone. I know small group of friends can come up with their own plot, but wouldn't it be nice if actual new events were happening in the world as a whole? ;_; I agree that the use of that NPC in this event is a wonderful idea. It makes the world more alive, and it makes the players feel more involved in the real Eorzea. -
/changepose emote is pure genius. It'll make screenshots even more dynamic than they already are! This game just blows my mind, so much genius everywhere. I'm very excited about tomorrow. I want to do everything at the same time (>_<)

Meet me IC, I'll invite you and that will be that. I don't think we have met IC yet. Oh! I'm wondering if your character could invite my tribal miqo'te. Making her go to such an event might be interesting.

My impressions about Blade & Soul are actually the opposite. Combat didn't impress me at all (I prefer Mabinogi:Heroes and Tera). The world feels quite dead and uninteresting, and thus the only attention to detail I've seen is on female character models *laughs*. I didn't feel that towns were alive, I couldn't interact with anything. All I could do was kill stuff, for there's nothing else going on in the maps I've visited. The fashion system is also non existent. Perhaps I just didn't play it enough, but as far as I know, later gameplay is more of the same: kill stuff in maps where nothing else is going on. I have followed this game's updates, and every new update seems to be related to... new bosses you can kill. Exactly like Tera, and there's a reason why Tera isn't my favourite game, amazing as its combat system and character designs are. The only thing I really like about B&S is the RP I've been having in a Spanish RP forum, and the very good character creation. The game itself is very meh for me. I'd give it another try if it was released in English, but I doubt I'd last much.

Tiergan Whores Self For Fun And Profit (Limited Commissions)
Clover replied to Tiergan's topic in Artisan House
Very impressive colouring skills @_@ Keep up the good job! -
This sounds like a very fun event! I need to find an excuse for any of my characters to go, as it doesn't seem to especially suit any of them.

Oh! I'm very glad to find more lolitas in this forum! Do you have photos? This place needs more frills (*___*) You're so lucky for having a BTSSB store so close. I've never been able to step into any lolita store myself...
-
Ah, I'm afraid I don't draw commissions, I'm very sorry ;_; Drawing is not something I do often. I wish I had the will for it, but I enjoy playing too much for my own good *sweatdrops*.
-
Today I finally got to draw the Yohko sisters, K'nahli and K'mih. It's just a coloured sketch, though, and I'm not very happy about it (>_<; Just for the record, I have a twisted mind and I've RPed incest before, but this case is genuine sisterly love *laughs* (because K'mih is already in love with her father). Anyway, I feel embarrassed to update with just such a simple pic, so I'll add some actually finished fanarts of other characters I RP (non FFXIV). I don't tend to draw finished fanarts unless a fanart contest is involved, and FFXIV has none of that yet... So, I guess my motivation hasn't been high because I'd rather play the game than draw *sweatdrops*.

Haha, all that sounds like my CT run yesterday. I lost count on how many times we wiped. Also, I had seen some bikini snowmen before, but I didn't know that was a common practice @_@ I wouldn't enjoy it if CT was more difficult either, since you're forced to play with randoms there. Granted, I don't particularly enjoy a high difficulty anywhere, but playing with randoms is a whole new story. I had enough with Titan HM parties back in the day, which sadly happened before I got into a friendly LS I can actually play with ;
-
Some new screens from my tumblr. Traveling with Cinnamon. K'nahli crafted the headpiece for Clover (*-*) (thank you very much!) K'nahli and K'mih decided to OOCly sneak into a random house. "K'nahli~! Try this, try this!" That was so tense and fun. We were ready to run away as soon as someone else came ^^; Luckily, we weren't caught.

I apologize for my ignorance, but I'm a bit confused about retainers. It says a retainer can't have a higher level than you, and that they can't be any job you haven't unlocked yourself. Does this mean that, for example, my White Mage can't have a high level lancer retainer because she's not a high level lancer herself? I wanted to recreate my partner's lancer miqo'te, but now I fear I won't be able to ;w;

I've read the notes, but I haven't found anything related to the items we can buy with the new tomes. I must have missed it >_<;

*Amused*. Square-Enix's "stupidity" has created the best MMORPG I've ever played. There's the door for people who hate it so much, of course. The rest of us will be enjoying 2.2 in the meanwhile.

That place has been effectively used for RP ^^ It could use more love, though. I agree.

I'm very excited about all those new robes! I clearly need for Clover's RP to become more epic so that she can wear them ICly *laughs*.

I'm a Gridanian girl. I think Gridania is not the prettiest city, but it's the one that feels like home to me. It just surrounds me with a warm feeling. My main character is from there because it's the city I thought that would suit her simple, quiet kind of life best.
