Personally the whole cliques thing is what turned me away from trying too hard to find rp. When I did manage to find rp or someone willing to give the character a chance they would soon enough roll an alt or re-roll their character and I would be stuck with trying to figure out how to explain someone going from lalafell to a cat person. xP Now granted this was back during the re-release so maybe the game was just too young and people weren't sset in stone on what they wanted to do just yet. But sadly even returning to the game multiple times I have had similar issues or just running into folks who couldn't keep ooc and ic in their own places. Sure maybe part of the blame is on me, I could have tried harder or put myself out there more or even bothered to go to the smaller events. My personally solution to the issue is looking to a new server. No the community won't be nearly as large but that is not always a bad thing either. Not sure if the OP will read new posts or not but a server change is an option if you really are that unhappy with where you are. (No I didn't read through the pages and pages to see other replies so sorry if it was a suggestion already. I'm sure there is a lot of sound advice in this thread.)

I'll hop on the more options train. Scars, tattoos, face types, body types. There is a lot that could be added just looking off some of the F2P games I have poked about in the recent years. Dropping the PS3 support gives me a bit of hope but I'm not holding my breath for anything too amazing just yet either.

Is this still active or perhaps another group on this server? Was seeking a server to transfer to and wanted to do some scouting out.

I'm fine with a smaller community. My husband dislikes the server we are on currently due to the large amount of drama from various periods in the past so a change of pace would be a little more ideal if we returned. Plus he's not a huge rp'er anyway so the rp option is more for my amusement.. heh.

So with word of the new expansion if the game entices me to return I was in debate if I wanted to bother with a server transfer or just rolling a new character. I know the common two servers that'll be listed here are Baulmung and Gilgamesh. Are there any others or is it just those two supported here? I know hunting around a little on the forums and lodestone I saw mention of Siren and Fairie. Just curious really. No idea if I'm even going to return or not but I was bored and figure this was as good a time as any to see where the servers stood.

By all means I'll try to get up with ya in game. ^^ I'll see what I have laying around. I was nearly max on all crafts and had a habit to just hold onto materials.. just in case ya know.

So I've decided that odds are not in favor of me ever returning to FFXIV .. as much as I love my character and the work I put into her.. Anyway! With a free weekend in effect I figured I might be able to help someone out or maybe a few people by giving away what I do have laying around on my character and her retainers collecting dust. I'd rather help someone new to the game or server, or even a newly formed FC that could use stuff (even if they just sell it for funds. Honestly have not a clue what I have laying around). But anyone is free to post here or message me and I'll be installing the game a bit later to try and get up with whoever. (if this is the wrong place for this I'm sorry!)

Odds are not in favor of me ever returning to the game, every time I return something happens. Tired of the drama here when there are other games and communities out there. Anyone using my npc's that were involved with this character can feel free to carry on using them. As much as I love my character and the people in this game I still call friends.. I can't bring myself to pay the sub for a game that I care very little about the gameplay in and that every time I turned around there was some form of drama. If anyone wants to keep in touch with me send me a message on here or poke me on steam or skype if you add me there(both should be in my profile).

I've toyed at the idea of killing my character off several times. Though my character has a lot of ic connections and I tend to talk things that would effect others out with them before jumping the gun on things. Sure I'm all for my character being wounded or even getting some scar or wound that would forever hinder the character.. but each time I've thought about ending my character and I brought it up to my friends they warn me that I better not do it. By this point in time I do feel my character has run her course and helped enough people and made enough connections and friends alike that if something were to end her that it would be a story well written. Though .. given the crowd she is normally with and that her job isn't exactly that dangerous on it's own.. I've not really thought of how or what way I'd enjoy to rp out the character's end. As of the moment my character is still alive and kicking but if given the right setting and such that could change.

A few ideas, though generally I try to challenge my writing skills when it comes to rp.. so some ideas are probably better than others. I think the main thing I have longed to rp out or play as a sort of main character would be a villain so to speak. At the least a character that would be seen to the common folk as being evil or not trusted. I got this idea from a necromancer OC I had years ago. i loved him to death and even with his vat powers he had weaknesses and could easily find himself in over his head. My main issue with playing a evil character or a darker character so to speak is that it's hard for me to grasp being that character that people will likely hate.Not to mention the slew of do gooders and heroes that would surely flock at the thought of conflict or that there is some evil do'er. Just never figured a way to keep things fresh for myself and everyone else involved with such a character. Most that I have met take ic and ooc too similarly so I never wanted to risk it. -------- The other concept I've never gotten to go far or even really started was my character adopting a kid or least a teen, maybe young adult that needed a bit of guidance. Just a idea that I always enjoyed. Just as I love training or teaching others ic'ly I just felt this would be a good fit if I could ever get a hold of someone for the role.

Slight update that I'm currently inactive in the game but more than happy to rp on the forums or elsewhere if someone needs my character for some story.

A hand to his ear seemed to be followed by a groan. A coal blue hand scrubbing through short hair as he nodded. "Yes yes.. I'll be right there." The pearl seemed to go silent after those words and Salvius paced a few steps before grabbing a over sized axe that was leaning against the door frame. "Bloody hells.. have ta go pry that damned fool from the chair again.." He seemed to mutter closing the door a bit heavily behind him. "Can't get a lick o' work done 'round here cause some Roe has ta get himself wasted and start talkin' about the craftsmanship of the furnishings in the Wench!" Course anyone over hearing this rant probably thinks the shorter Elezen is slightly out of his mind, that or had a few too many himself. OOC: Over all I think the character would be the same. She's pretty much a tomboy as it is so the change wouldn't be that drastic. Character wise she has posed as a man before so I don't see the character as a whole being that drastically different. Slight modification in what gender(s) they would be interested but aside from that. Still would curse and drink as much as they normally do and complain about having work to do back at the forge when people were keeping them from it.

Oh no I worded it poorly. The work area is fine. Adjusting the ui to make it more clean and crisp seems to make that program (only that one.. everything else seems properly scaled) so small my pen won't even register the buttons. I'd read that PS and Manga Studio are good on the tablet but I was just curious if there were other suggestions is all. ^^

No I know they are different, I have a Wacom for my pc but the Surface has been very nice to draw on, have to adjust to the glass surface but aside from that. I have tried to fix the UI, it's a known issue with SAI and the Surface as far as I can tell and have read up on.

Not sure if this should go here or not.. But I figured the safer bet was here. So for the holidays my husband surprised me with a new Surface Pro 3. Sadly the tablet doesn't seem to work all that well with SAI that I have been using through the years. Aside from the UI on my program being too small and no way to fix it the tablet works like a dream. Very useful given how much time away from home I seem to be spending. My question is if anyone else uses this tablet or a similar one and what art program they would recommend? I have a small list, some programs I've never heard before and appear to be free or very much affordable. If all else fails I can install PS again on my pc and tablet. Just wanted to see if anyone else had thoughts or suggestions. ^^
