The Master Linkshell [Balmung OOC Cross-shell]
Vokcas replied to Ventus Zeruel's topic in Chronicles
Headmaster of Gridania Garden, I find this is a nice way for a number of guilds to communicate with each other while keeping it in a manner that everyone can stay in the loop. I support this idea and will help out any way I can. Vok~ -
I figured I would sneak in and least a comment. If your character needs schooling off any kind, like to see Cat cheerleaders, want to bully them little lala in the corridors with you big blue hands or want to be one of them book nerds with them long ears and the ability to reach the top self. If all else fails you could be one of them standed people whom dream just fitting in, if that is so... Then this guild is for you. :geek: Now joking aside, if your character is in need of character development or in need of a education what ever the case, then I would urge you to join Ul'dah Garden and be part of the Garden RP which is sweeping the world. Headmaster Dair Brainse [Gridania Garden SeeD Academy]

Thank's for the reply Ventus & Leencat, I will go though it in order. First of all Ventus. We are currently in the process of the recruitment stage of the Garden creation but as soon as we passed this and start RPing as a Garden, I will be in touch I already have a few idea's that I am still twiddling around. Now Leencat, we accept people regardless of a person timezone. Yes at first it could be a problem, it may not be a problem, the best I can give you is that players like myself tend to play more then we should. I normally play till 2-4am on a weekend and normally midnight GMT on a weekday due to work. I am sorry I can't provide a better explanation but if you do decide to follow this path, our door's are always open and we will try to set things into place to make it easier for player's of all timezones to play together. Thanks for commenting Brave, let me go into more depth from what Masha'ra was saying. Currently as we have just opened we are pulling our resources into getting the guild up and running in game. Once have has established this, we plan on conversing with Ul'dah Garden and try to boost Roleplay between both Gardens and also the whole Roleplaying Community. My original plan was to have a Limsa, Ul'dah and Gridania Garden which would communicate with each other and allow players to experience new kinds of Roleplay for they character. One of the things that have always bugged me about characters, they have all these skill's but where did they actually get them? Who taught them? Having multiple Garden's in the world, will allow players to be more creative with they characters but more importantly open more opportunity for them. Let me know if this didn't make any sense. Vok~

Greetings Larsonient and thank you for taking your time and post. To start of I will address your alt question to begin with. Gridania Garden do in fact accept alts within it's free company, after all we like to think that each character is different even when played by the same character. Now Gridania Garden would 'affiliate' with your character, roleplay is roleplay with or without a Free Company, beside from this it would be a great way to help the progression off your character and the Academy. If you wish to discuss details in the future regarding this, feel free to message me on this, Enjin or on Skype and we can see what we ca do. Vok~

Greetings Kismet, first of all I like to thank you for taking the time to reply, it's always nice to see people noticing your post's and having the courage to comment. Educational Roleplay is something I wanted to do for a long time but never really got a chance to go deep into it, only scratching the surface here and there. When I decided to play FF XIV I decided to try something new so, here we are. For those who are un-sure in the future whether about joining or not, Gridania Garden has a linkshell in which we operate to allow other players to talk to us IG regarding a number of stuff. If you feel like you could benefit to this please don't hesitate to message me on here, enjin or in game on Dair Brainse. Vok~

Gridania Garden SeeD Academy Overview Background: “Not all Heroes just go out and fight, some have to study first” Have you ever wondered “where are the great warriors, where do the heroes’ come from, where have they learned such talents?” Many of those talents are lost thought out world, waiting for some help, some guidance, a help that is capable of waking up those talents and gifts, trapped inside one’s body or mind. But who? They is a tale, about a man with a heart the size of the woods that he resided in, this man was upset with the direction of the world that it was currently going in. He hated how the youth of today wasted so many possibilities, so many gifts and so many talents. So after one day after having enough of the world current predicament he decided to set out in search for these people. What he found was children of sorrow, children whom parents had laid down they life to protect the ones they held dearest and the children who had so many talents buried within but without the knowledge on how to use them, would simply allow them to waste away. This was the foundation of what became to be known as Gridania Garden. As the leaves fell and the buds of the flowers begin to close as they hid from the weather of time, the Gridania Garden became more known. This caused the children from families, men and women of age and people whom seek the knowledge of forgotten arts and knowledge, to flock to its gate’s. As the renown of such a Garden increased, so did the participants whom strived for self improve and to absorb the Garden teachings within one’s mind; this was the start off the Garden’s fall. As time was brought forward, the now ‘old man’ was taking ill with the worry off his student’s safety on his mind. This new time was a time which many new dangers had risen. While Garden was a small school protecting it and its ideal’s was simple but the more the Garden grew, the harder it was to protect from these new dangers. It was not long before the ‘old man’ passed into the next realm, causing the Garden to destroy its self from the inside. And the memories of what Garden was began to fade away as the idea off everyone wanting they own ideal’s for this standing monument replaced it. Thirteen moon’s has passed since the gardens of the Gridania Garden stood bright and vibrant as the currents of air caused flower blossoms to glide over its gate. Now all that is standing is an old dusty shell off what once was. As a tall young Elezen accompanied with a Miqo'te whom looked like he has seen better days approached the gates of this old relic, only stopping to take a shield with the Garden Crest on it. Soon rumors began to spread as people sited people inside the garden. Seven weeks later, as the moon met the suns gazed the old Garden gate suddenly swung ajar waiting to teach the ones who wished to learn.

New to the game, wish to RP, but some important questions
Vokcas replied to Hansem Wildsteel's topic in FFXIV Discussion
1) The reason it will be red is because your using the wrong chat commands, for example whisper is tell and shout is general. A) General - /Shout - Orange B) Shout - /Yell - Yellow C) Whisper - /tell - Pink 2) Click on the part of the Chat box which has (===l==l==l==). 3) Level 20-25 I think. 4)A linkshell is a clan or a group which you can belong to, you can have a number of linkshells but only representing a single one at a time, while the Free Company in this case is your guild and you can only have one of these. -
I think I will spend my time trying to put off doing my character Biography. ^^

I like the idea, though I'm not sure how saying IC fire/fira/firaga etc. would mesh with lore. While it would take some more research on the part of summoner/scholar to see the lore for their "summons" I haven't noticed the Arcanist needing a vocal component as an aspect of their magic. Their power is born out of the symbols and the mathematical manipulation of Aether. So you could potentially have a mute arcanist, maybe. (need some lore checking on that. ) Now I do include some vocal commands for Carbuncle after he is summoned, and maybe even during summoning as more of a character quick than part of his casting. With Fire, Fira, Firaga yeah they could be conflictions with the lore but a way around this is to use the word as a sort of railing, your not sure on your capabilities to cast the spell on your own, this is why you say the fira for example when you are trying to cast to allow you focus enough to use the spell. As for arcanists, when I said it, I thought of the caster requesting to lend the creature power. I won't lie my lore regarding spells on Final Fantasy Online is little to none, if it was the other Final Fantasy's I would been better off.

To be honest, I read this post earlier today and I have been thinking about how it would look in game from a RP point of view all day. Now one of the idea's I was thinking is why not add a little bit of Final Fantasy 8 into the spells; here is an example: /cast Fire 1 - "Fire" *Combat Fire 1 attack* /cast Fire 2 - "Fira" *Combat Fire 2 attack* /cast Fire 3 - "Firaga" *Combat Fire 3 attack* /cast Blizzard 1 - "Blizzard" *Combat Blizzard 1 attack* /cast Blizzard 2 - "Blizzara" *Combat Blizzard 2 attack* /cast Blizzard 3 - "Blizzarga" *Combat Blizzard 3 attack* /cast Thunder 1 - "Thunder" *Combat Thunder 1 attack* /cast Thunder 2 - "Thundara" *Combat Thunder 2 attack* /cast Thunder 3 - "Thundaga" *Combat Thunder 3 attack* /cast Cure 1 - "Cure" *Combat Cure 1 healing spell* /cast Cure 2 - "Cura" *Combat Cure 2 healing spell* /cast Cure 3 - "Curaga" *Combat Cure 3 healing spell* As you can see, the person macro's a say chant which changes depending on the chant they uses, if people don't like say they could just change it into a emote kinda like: {Skjold} Begins to chant the words "Fire" causing fire to erupt out of his hands towards his target. Now people will most likely say after a while the macro will become boring & annoying, this brings me to a question. On every Final Fantasy game when the user cast's a spell over and over again, has it actually bothered you? This is really the same principle but this time used to make Roleplay more realistic for casters. Before I stop I would like to add one last thing,do you know how cool it would be if summoners chanted IC; for example: /summon Ifirit "Rise out the Hellfire, Ifirt" *Summons Ifirt minion* /summon Carbuncle "Protect me from this foe, Carbuncle" *Summons Carbuncle minion* Anyway you get the point, isn't summoning about asking to lend another creature power, this would be a fitting way for calling. At the end of the day this is to help boost caster Roleplay. Actually now that I think about it most classes can use this method; a simple example is a gladiator. /basic attack "Cross Slash" *Use basic attack* /basic defend "You wont get past me" *Use defend CD*

At first I felt like :bomb: but now all I want to do is :tonberry: to SE for punishing me this way
-
The theme's should now work correctly according to Square Enix.
-
If your download does not open try this one. FF XIV EU Ves of the theme.
-
I can't seem to access the theme pack. :frustrated: EDIT: Did read that the theme was broke. *facepalm*
-
I am still on the fence about this one, I was like alot of you when I heard Swtor was adding voice acting to emotes and look how bland that turned out. I would love to have a natural talk feature which moves the mouth depending on your character mood and when the characters /s or /y.
-
I would of done it online but honestly I can't seem to recall my account details and I have a store 15min away from me, so I figured it was easier. I suppose I could go down and pay for it next month before it comes out and get early access.
-
Sending a tonberry is going to take awhile... -_-' Also, If you preordered at a game store, there should have been a code on your receipt. At least, that's the way it worked at Gamestop. And yes, you have to preorder to get early access; however, it does not matter what edition, or if it's physical or digital. When I went to Games Store, the company Game not a random shop, I was giving a receipt with a code on it and with a £5 on it, which shows I have put the deposit down. They wouldn't let me buy the game outright until launch. So I can't see the code being on the receipt I have will allow me early access.
-
So I went into my local game store and placed my deposit down for my collectors edition. If I pay when early access comes out will I get a code to play?
-
I would of got the digital but to be honest I have always loved final fantasy music/artwork. Do you get them with the digital CE?
-
Honestly no matter what you do, you won't find a solution long term. The reason for this is because not every EU player will guarantee to use the site and more importantly not every EU frankly knows about it. Of course you can try to get every EU member in the same boat, yeah that is great but I think by doing it your splitting the Roleplayers. My personal idea is to create 24/7 Roleplaying guilds which will allow both EST and GMT to interact and Roleplay as one guild and not as two separate community's, the two time factors have one amazing opportunity, they can demolish the 7-10Hours rest period when the GMT or EST are sleeping and incorporate more Roleplay which will help build the community. When I say incorporate more Roleplay I mean: When the EST are sleeping GMT Roleplayers will be on representing the guild and generally role playing. Now when GMT sleeping EST Roleplayers will be on representing the guild and generally role playing. Basically someone will be covering the guild front 24/7 this could be GMT or EST. Of course they is one huge factor, Roleplay Direction one time zone may feel like they want to push the guild threw a story to develop the guild which will push the other time zone out the window, how do we get around this? The answer is simple, we communicate with each other, at the end of the day we are all mature roleplayers I hope and I am sure we can solve a problem such as this by just generally talking about it. Beside this would allow the guild to branch out in multiple ways at the same time and increase the guild growth as a whole. Crime guilds or Military guilds would have the biggest growth from this due to being able to do multiple missions/ heists at the same time, due to EST and GMT. Of course without communication something like this could never work. P.s I am GMT+1, UK and I plan to play on Balmung.

I won't lie, that was a mouth full. ^^ You will find that alot in the world of gaming to be honest, as everyone demands to be pleased. Anyway I hope you find your new home rich and full off flavor. Oh and welcome again.

FFXIV:ARR newbie looking for some fun RP in this game!
Vokcas replied to halceeuhn's topic in Welcome Desk
Welcome Halcee, from what I have gathered. Balmung has the biggest RP Community, due to it was already established, while Gilg is currently building up their community. -
Bleh I think we should send a :tonberry: too square-enix until they get more. Is they any reason to buy the Digital CE?
-
As the title says I have a question regarding the CE package. I am planning on getting the game and hopefully CE, but my question is will I still be able to join in on Early access, with the whole having to wait to get the game rather then digital.
