I need it but I don't HAVE to go as a SMN. Plus I'm doing my relic weapon quest with a guildmate (who also needs it for their BRD) so it's really okay if I do Titan again later. It's really whatever roles ya'll need filled to get this done.

Then I see honestly no problem with it, trying to make an overpowered character is one thing, but yours is not at all (I probably should have read your entire post the first time but I got all grrr at people telling you dimension jumping isn't possible especially when we just saw evidence of it). The DEVs OF THE GAME integrated dimension jumping themselves with the Lightning event. There is no indication if this is a "special" thing. It happened she came and is coming back. To me that indicates Lore appropriateness of Dimension jumping right there. Also I didn't mean to make it sound like you were trying to make an overpowered character, Sorry if it came across that way >.<.

Considering the server just had a HUGE event with Lightning dimension hoping, which will be returning in Febuary if I'm not mistaken. To me that would imply that it is in fact completely possible to infact dimension hop. How one would go about doing so I have no idea (this is my first FF game so just learning all this stuff as it is). So I'd say yes Dimension hoping is reasonable, I would just be careful about the HOW of how your character got here so it doesn't seem like she is too overly powerful. But since it was some kind of magical accident, I don't see that as being a problem. Your idea is pretty interesting and I don't fault you for wanting to keep your character from a previous game and bringing her into this one. I also tend to be attached to my RP characters and Evie (my character) is a "incarnation" of another Evie from another game. So in conclusion, no you do not deserved to be shunned or ignored etc etc. And I agree with the other posters who've already said that this person seems to just be a giant dick.

Sure no problem. You want me on my Scholar then? She is i75 so the better geared of my two classes.

If you play close enough to your PS3 a normal USB keyboard for a computer works. I just played for a week or so on a PS3 (I'm normally PC) while I was home with family for Christmas. I played with a PS3 controller adn then for chat purposes I used the USB Keyboard. Now, unfortunately, it can't be a wireless keyboard as the PS3 has no way of downloading the drivers for that, but a wired one works just fine. And if you already have one, then you don't have to spend the extra money on the PS3 controller keyboard.

I might possibly be able to convince another Bard, a Monk, and a White Mage. Again I don't know what their plans are tonight but it won't hurt to ask.

Balmung is the unofficial RP Legacy server, Gilgamesh is the unofficial RP non-legacy server. I'm not sure which is more heavily populated with RPers. I'm on Balmung so can't speak to the Gilgamesh population, however Balmung is heavily populated with RPers that you almost step on them as they tend to lounge anywhere they can in the major cities. The most popular RP places being in the three adventurer's guild. There are also plenty of RP Free Companies and RP Linkshells that you could join with many different concepts so that you can probably find at LEAST one that will fit your character. Hope this helps, it hardly does the Balmung RP community justice, but it's short and sweet. I'll let someone else from Gilgamesh tell you about their world.

I'd be willing to help, but I'm a scholar (main, though she's decently geared that it might not make a difference). If you're willing to have another scholar come along I'd be happy to help that way or I also have a SMN that needs Titan for the relic. If not you can still PM me in game tonight (Evelyn Strider) and I can tag a few of my guildies who'd probably be interested in helping.

In need of some Female Miqot'e for some RP. (Balmung)
Evie replied to R'mah's topic in RP Discussion
You had another option. Telling the player, "No. Not just no, but fuck no. Get bent." If that seems too harsh for you, please, by all means, contact me and I will be your angry ball of angry and tell them for you. I promise to leave most of their face intact when I'm done. This. So much this. I don't mean to make light of the subject, but how is it any different than someone scheming to murder your one of your characters without your consent? I mean, if that same person was planning on killing your character, would you be faced with the choice of either retconning months worth of RP or setting the character aside? No. You'd have the (well-established) choices of also saying "Sorry, nope. I don't agree", or acting out the fight and defending your character successfully. A rape scheme is really no different: A: "My dear man, now you're mine, whether you like it or not." *stalks B, club in hand* B: "A! How could you! I trusted you!" *whips out a knife and menaces A while circling around towards the door* Another option instead of putting your character on the shelf, ret-conning, or telling them to get bent, or doing the RP and defending yourself and kicking his ass (I particularly like this option best), you can turn that character into an NPC in your story. Keep everything up until that point, but now instead of that person playing the character it's an NPC. Or if you don't want to do that, write an excuse for why that person is no longer around ( I know that yes they still are but they aren't someone you'd be RPing with anymore), they could go on a journey in order to "find themselves" or they were sent to the front lines or may other things. Or, I mean the person wasn't willing to discuss things with you, so you could even go so far as to say they died in a tragic accident while fighting the Garleans. There are so many options in response to any situation. Don't let someone ruin your fun by putting the character on a shelf. You RP to enjoy yourself. So enjoy yourself and to hell with anyone who tries to ruin your fun. -
Not sure if you've found a FC yet but if you want to check out my FC the Forged Axis is a guild that was founded due to the Sil'dih's experimentation with necromancy and their creation of the undead army in order to fight U'ldah. If you want more information check out our FC website equilibriumrp.enjin.com or we have a page on this website as well. Equilibrium We have two factions in the guild. Forged Axis is the good faction, while Arcanum is the evil faction. If you have any questions you can message me here or leave a message on the FC website. If we're not for you or if you've already found a place, I hope you find someplace to call home.

Just wanted to say how AMAZING this event was. I enjoyed every minute of it as did my friend. Made some great connections who I hope to hear from again, whether for some kind of larger story RP or even just some social RP. Thanks so much for hosting this.

In need of some Female Miqot'e for some RP. (Balmung)
Evie replied to R'mah's topic in RP Discussion
This may be just me, but if I'm interested in RP I generally talk to the person who is planning it and ask questions of them first. I want to make sure that the RP will be enjoyable for not only me but also for them and if our characters are completely not going to mesh then I'll say "You know, as much as I want to do this, I don't think it's good for my character. I wish you luck in finding someone more appropriate." It is an online experience. There is no one there in the room with you forcing you to do something you don't want to. If things happen RPly that you don't like, walk away. If someone tries to force you to RP, blacklist them. If they continue in the RP despite saying stop report them for harassment. There are so many things that you can do to protect yourself against harassing RP. If someone tries to get you to do something you don't want ret-con meeting that character and have it as if it never happens. You draw the lines and there should be NO WAY possible for someone to force you to RP something you don't want to. Also with this you are assuming that the person, Karaan, who wants the female characters in the end actually checks this website regularly. Maybe he doesn't and only got on because someone mentioned it to him. -

Another point that I think needs to be brought up. The RP forums are for RPers to get together and share ideas. As an RP community, even if you don't like an idea, you shouldn't tear apart a person from wanting to RP a certain way. So slavery and torture really rubs you the wrong way when you RP. Fine, you are not required to RP such subjects. However that doesn't mean that you can't participate if the subject matter bothers you. We're all people and I guarantee a majority of us are really good, kind, and decent human beings. You can still participate, if something starts going a way you are uncomfortable with tell them. If they are decent RPers and beings they will stop. If they aren't, they aren't worth RPing with anyways and blacklist them. I would hazard a guess that there isn't a single person on this website who would continue to torture someone in RP if the person says OOC "(Hey I really can't handle this. Can we stop here and just assume XYZ happened? And then continue with the after the fact.)" It's the same concept if you are RPing a serious relationship with someone but you are uncomfortable actually ERPing, then you can use the "Fade to Black". If the person is a good RPer, they will respect your wishes and the RP needs to go no further with that particular subject. The world is not a nice place in lore, there is examples of slavery and necromancy and probably much more. As fellow RPers we need to respect other RPers even if the direction of their particular story doesn't go down something that we'd normally participate in. You are not required to participate if something like the subject matter bothers you, but if you choose to have a serious discussion with the other RPers so you know what to expect and what you can or can't handle in the RP. There will be ways to work things out if you really want to RP with certain people. I have done the Fade to Black several times over the course of my RPing. I have this really good friend who certain subjects bothered him in RP and when they came up, he'd just ask if we could stop there and pick up after. Nothing was lost, nothing was missed. We both really enjoyed our RP experiences together and created some amazing RP in the process. Again we are here to support each other, there's plenty of people on the servers who don't support RPers (apparently there was a fight in shout in one of the main cities last night about how Balmung "isn't an RP server so people shouldn't RP"). So why start those fights here among are selves when we should be supporting each other as RPers. -

I would like to mention that the slave trade is infact part of Eorzean Lore. So the idea that there would be people interested in buying or trading slaves, ICly, should not come as a surprise. If you don't believe me go level the Arcanist. Also, just because a person has there character doing something involving something of this nature that bother many OOCly does not mean that the person behind the character supports slavery OOCly. Just reading this thread there seem to be too many people up in arms over RP. Keep IC in IC and OOC in OOC. Also The person who is being accused of advertising for ERP states right in a post saying he is NOT looking for ERP. That was not the original purpose for the post, yes it could have started off explained a bit better, but hindsight is 20/20. -
You might also want to look through this thread if you haven't already. Garlens are you out there? (Balmung)

Well if you want to wait longer the cheapest it could get is 4 mil, 15 mil, and 50 mil. That's waiting the 90 days for the normal .14% devalue to 50% the original value. At least this is what I believe will happen as we've been given no indication that the normal devalue system will be removed from the housing system with the new prices.

Here's some new information if people didn't see Yoshi's reply to the Lodestone Forum Housing thread. "Legacy World Price Adjustments Due to the prodigious amount of gil in circulation in legacy Worlds, we regret that current housing prices may be prohibitive to the following players: Those new to the game who started on legacy Worlds Those returning to a legacy World after taking an extended break Those on a legacy World who have been unable to save gil Upon considering the feedback we have received since the release of the patch notes, we have decided to make the following adjustments: Land prices will start at the figures indicated in the patch notes From January 2014, devaluation will be adjusted every two weeks After three months, final land prices will match those of World Group 3 * World Group 3 (third listed in the patch notes) Bahamut / Behemoth / Cactuar / Carbuncle / Chocobo / Diabolos / Fenrir / Garuda / Gilgamesh / Ifrit / Leviathan / Mandragora / Midgardsormr / Odin / Ramuh / Shiva / Siren / Tiamat / Titan / Tonberry / Ultros Although this takes place over the course of three months, land prices in legacy Worlds will eventually fall to match those of World Group 3. In the event that pricing changes are made to this group, the same will be applied to legacy Worlds. By adjusting devaluation at set intervals rather than in one go, we hope to prevent a sudden rash of purchases. The introduction of housing will help to unify the perceived value of gil in each individual World. Furthermore, it has presented an opportunity for us to consider the lifting of restrictions on transfers between between legacy and non-legacy Worlds." From this information and looking at the patch notes again, this means that the housing will drop down to as starting prices (I'm assuming the .14% decrease up to 50% of housing total cost still applies) Small - 8 to 10 mill Medium - 30 mil to 37.5 mil Large - 100 mil to 125 mil While still large amounts, things don't seem so hopeless anymore when it comes to FC housing.

Seeking:: Merchants, traders, people/FCs with services for hire
Evie replied to Michikyou's topic in RP Discussion
My FC, Equilibrium, has a branch of treasure hunters (the company is called the Forged Axis) so if anyone is looking to hire a group to go find this or that ancient, magicy artifact we'd be happy to help. Not sure if this translates into a Bazaar very well...but we'll try and get someone out there to be in the tavern area trying to not look to shady so that people can come and inquire about our services. -
Not sure how many people have read the new letter that was released today. Here's the estimated STARTING Prices for land on Balmung server. Small 20,000,000 -25,000,000 Medium 75,000,000 -93,750,000 Large 250,000,000 -12,500,000 Balmung I know my FC, Equilibrium, will now be waiting quite a bit longer than originally expected, just wondering if these prices change anything else for some of the other FCs on timelines of when they would be getting their houses.

Looking for People to Brainstorm/RP Large In-Depth Plots with
Evie replied to Tiergan's topic in RP Discussion
I'm interested in brainstorming with you about large over arching plots. I would be interested in the RP not only for my character, but also for my FC. Many of us are RPers so would be very interested in creating some plot ideas with you or whoever. -
A friend and I are interested in attending, though this one may already be full. I noticed that an application had to be filled out, but I haven't seen it. Did I miss it somewhere or do I have to contact someone?
-
What do you mean by different log-in? Like a whole new account? If so no you don't have to do that as it requires another sub, as a subscriber you get 8 character slots per server...so ALL THE ALTS! Hope this answers your question unless you have some clarification.
-
Kind of feel I'm jumping in a bit late to the post, but Gray I feel similar. Part of what concerns me is that there is no over arching...I guess factions for lack of a better way to look at it, like there was there that just allowed for intense story. I've never been a tavern RPer, though it is nice to do it on occasion, and haven't really found any really strong connections outside of the small FC I'm a part of. I don't know if anyone ever created the Linkshell for interested RPers, yes or no I'd really like to start RPing again more. Granted I think part of my problem is that I don't feel a connection with this character like I have others from the past. I'm not sure why, but I'm hoping by developing more RP then maybe I'll find her and then she'll really start to flow through instead of this giant writer's block that I seem to be having. Right now she's just a hodge podge of ideas, with only a few really "set". So anyone who wants to RP or even just discuss RP and lore to think up RP stories lines (I'm an officer in my FC so really wanting to start getting something going to encourage RP since our tag is Eq-RP, I want to start earning the tag) please feel free to message me here. \ THANKS MUCH!

I would be interested in participating, whether with my villain alt character or with my other non-villainous character.
