There are a lot of Coeurl pups in game in the...um East Shroud I think? I'm planning on having my miqo'te having raised her coeurl from a little orphaned pup and using it as an in-game mount.

My two pieces. Both were photographed right after I got them so they're a bit angry looking. Both done by the same artist. I designed the dragon with the artist and the hawk was a design that I found on a flash site and modified to make it resonate with me.

Personally, I would recommend starting with this: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=1615 It has a comprehensive look at what happened in FFXIV 1.0 and is a good place to start. Covers the major historical high points of the last 20 years or so and goes over some of the things you'll be seeing/hearing about in game a lot. Otherwise, looking at the wiki entries for your particular race/subrace (Keeper of the Moon is a subrace of miqo'te, for instance) is a pretty good place to go. Feel free to post questions on the boards, too, everyone has been VERY friendly and helpful since I got here.

RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy- I am in-character when in game. Views on RP combat and injuries: I absolutely believe in ICA=ICC (in character actions=in character consequences). If my character gets into combat I tend to discuss the outcome with the other person OOCly and then let it play out as realistically as I can. I am also a fan of dice-rolling (an old tabletop standby). Views on IC romance: Romance is a part of a realistic life and I try to play my characters out in a three dimensional way. *waves* Two tattoos at the moment, attempting to save up for more. I have plans for roughly 6-7 more that will create an upper back/shoulder piece of totemic significance but it's going to be SO expensive it may never happen. No piercings though beyond the basic ears- I have allergic reactions to a lot of the less expensive metals (no lie) so again it's more of a cost issue than an aversion. Planning on throwing some fun color in my hair again, had it bright purple streaked for a bit, that washed out so it became bright white streaked. Considering dying the bottom half blue and since my hair is very, very long (I can sit on it) that'll be a LOT of blue. Love hearing people's stories about their tattoos.

Watching Bones, Supernatural, various animes. Clarifying C'rhisi's Wiki Setting up backstory and stuff for my thaumaturge alt. Playing TSW (and finishing up some art of TSW characters). Working my way through the Steam sale games I bought. >.> Reading. Lots and lots of reading. Those are all the things I -should- be doing. What I'm actually doing is staring forlornly at the FFXIV launcher, trying to will time to go faster. :cry:

I think it's very important to remember this is a stress test and it did -exactly- what it was supposed to do. It indicated a game-breaking bug in the system that the developers are going to have the chance to fix prior to the game going live. This is not early, early access of a completed, shipped, gold game. This is -still- beta, and this beta phase was to determine what the servers would do when bum-rushed by players. Turns out, stuff breaks. Those are good things to know. To act as if we are entitled to play is a bit unrealistic, really. In beta, we are basically volunteering for the company to help them finish their game. As to the lack of communication- again, I think we're so accustomed to game companies bending over backwards to beg their players for forgiveness that hours going by without comment is a major thing. Give them time, let them figure out what the hell to say, let it go up the chain and come back down. Maybe they were trying to figure out -what- to do with the bug before they responded, I don't know, I don't work for Squeenix. Basically saying that yes, it sucks. I crashed out last night with a 90k error and woke up this am to a 3102. I've spent the day playing on Japanese servers, fiddling around with other classes, beta testing and looking for bugs. I know that a lot of people were looking forward to this weekend to get a head start on the head start but that's not...really the point of what this is all about.

Yep, if you have 3102 the only option is to roll on a Japanese server (as it currently stands). The NA and EU servers are the ones currently being affected- the page on the Squeenix site is up to over 11k reports.

As a result of 3102, playing on Japanese server Tiamat and noticing something a little interesting- far fewer genitalia/sexual/troll names. Just an odd observation. Also, someone skilled in .gif making needs to take the scene of Bahamut bursting out of Dalamud, put 3102 on his head, and show him wrecking the joint.

From playing last night there's a quest with wood wailer over in Gridania that has decided to wear plate mail because they watched the Garleans and realized that having more armor would be advantageous. If you're playing a Keeper that lives in the Shroud they would have had run ins with the Empire and definitely seen how all that armor worked! For a Seeker, traders interacting with the tribe your character grew up in could have definitely had plate-wearing mercs with them. Or if your character ever went into Ul'dah for any reason, they would have seen the gladiators and the paladins. These kinds of questions are awesome, btw.
