    Summons?

Nope Odin is definately a primal, Quests cover it pretty clearly.
  2. How so? I think it quite appropriate considering they study the plantlife and where/how it can be collected. Botany) noun the scientifics study of plant, including their physiology, structure, genetics, ecology, distribution, classification, and economic importance. the plant life of a particular region, habitat, or geological period: Yes vs someone who's job is to provide wood and various gathered foods.
  3. How so? When you start the game and make a Miqote it asks you to choose your character's clan which would be Keeper and Seeker. Oh, that's right. That's an unfortunate use of the word. Yeah that sucks. They should have used the word "kin", or something like that, in character creator. I think clan is not the best word for that. I am still going to use the word clan for my Keeper's two-family group (I'm not the only one). If I am forced to get technical because of the word used in character creator then I will use the word sub-clan. There are indeed alot of translations in this game i find fairly odd. Botanist for example.
  4. I find the 'if it's in the game, it has to be lore,' argument very compelling, since FFIV:ARR was in no way, shape, or form made for rp. It is not dungeons & dragons, nor pathfinder, nor even a world like that of Dragon Age, where everything was created with the express purpose of building upon the world's lore. Fantasia is a utility item, created specifically for players unhappy with their characters appearance. It makes me wonder how people would rp such utility items such as name change or server change vouchers... ...all of which is horribly off-topic. I like the idea of your character was dressed up like a guy this whole time. But since that doesn't seem to fit your character, I guess a potion of some sort is the next best thing. I'm not sure about the gods being the cause, as they seem pretty uninvolved in matters. Dungeons and Dragons has plenty of items that make no sense. Like any cursed item "I'm going to put part of my soul into making this item to fuck with adventurers later!" But that's off topic its not so much as Fantasia is in game therefore it must exist but rather they provide an in universe explanation for it. Contrast this with the same setup in Wow which has no such item and is treated entirely as a game mechanic. If Nameway cards were introduced I would treat them as changing one's name with the Adventurer's guild for example.
  5. based on the seeker thread I thought this might be worth doing. As I've been rping I've run into some vastly different portrayals of Keeper culture and I actually think that works out wonderfully with their insular clannish nature it makes sense to me each grouping might end up with traditions and practices unseen by their fellows. Rather than trying to mandate some uniformity I would rather record the diversity giving people multiple options on how to tie themselves into people's rp. So what should go here? Well Name: What the group called itself obviously. Families: the various Families found in said area Location: Where on Eorzea they can generally be found. Sexual Mores: The biggest argument I've seen about Keeper canon is their breeding habits. Rather than take sides I think its best people to let people choose to go where they may so here's where you say whether your Keeper group used pair bonding, or passed males around like a bicycle or if they didn't even acknowledge the father as part of the family etc. Traditions: What sort of practices does your group do? Do they send people on Pilgramiges? Do they have rites of adulthood? Do they have Sin Eaters? All sorts of fun things can go here.
  6. Problem is that got used for the Seeker/Keeper break. How so? When you start the game and make a Miqote it asks you to choose your character's clan which would be Keeper and Seeker.
  7. Problem is that got used for the Seeker/Keeper break.
  8. Depends what you mean by tribe I read that as there's nothing above local clans/villages/bands while the Seekers have group equivalents to say the Cherokee or Apache I believe you both have a point. They seem to imply that Keepers are more clan-like. And a Keeper clan is made of 2 to 3 families. I guess it could be possible to classify a few families as a tribe? I don't know. I am not familiar with the true definition of tribe. Tribe can mean many things it can be a broad ethnicity like the Cherokee or it can be the small village and everyone in it.

  10. So addapting this for Keepers "tribe" would become the maternal surname, sept could represent villages or wandering groups, and breeding groups would be all the females who 'share' a male? So in this case Xha'li Moui would be from the Moui tribe, Coetheras Foothill sept, and one of only 4 in the K'zhuzu breeding group along with, Xha'a, Xha'to, and Xha herself. Why would males have anything to do with it? The family is built around the female, her brother is part of her family. Just because he goes off and has sex with someone doesn't mean thing. That child would in fact not be family.
  11. You'll probably get an argument since people have their views of lore. THe way I see it if it were just a game mechanic it wouldn't be a physical object NOR have a bit of explanation for how it works
  12. I know someone had it spill on them for gender change as a plot element. Getting drunk and drinking the wrong thing. Pissing off someone who spikes his drink and asks him to describe his "perfect woman" needing to fake his death because of debts or people trying actively kill him etc.
  13. The Fantasia exists in Lore I've seen multiple people build rp off it.
  14. Same for multiple White Mages. I've heard the Black Mage questline is the same. Kind of annoyed that's how they set the lore out, but it is what it is! The blackmage story has alot of lies in universe, while its not repeatable there's also not lore keeping people from going other ways there.. like say WHM does.
  15. The Lore makes it pretty clear there were multiple scholars and multiple fairies in ancient times while not everyone can be the person who rediscovered the art ala the quest it seems like once one person did it others can. Now if you want to see something that makes no sense in lore multiple Dragoons.
  16. YOu ask why you have seen no Roe, that is like an ant saying he has never seen a human. Clearly you need to look closer at those "pink mountains"
  17. The Doze emote is coming with beds in Free Company Housing
  18. As a scholar I spam alot more heals on warriors than Paladins!
  19. Well they did give out a bunch of mankinis for the summer event!
  20. Like A'brohka; she looks like a stereotypical Moon Miqo'te (dark, bluish-grey skin, round eyes, fangs and so on) and is with the all-women Sanguine Sirens, yet she clearly has recent enough ancestry of the Antelope tribe to have their prefix. After doing my inpromtu Miqote census of the cities LL seems to have the edge on Miqote urbanization by a long shot, along with a much higher percentage of Seekers to keepers so her mixture might seem more probable.
  21. You can determine how fast you are going there is Eorzea time which is 1 minute for every 3 iRL seconds.
  22. after wandering around LL counting Miqote npcs and checking their eyes I find 28 Seekers 9 keepers and 2 miqote with covered eyes. There is a slight tendency towards Seekers looking like rogues and pirates, but that's only a very slight tendency and they can be found in respectable fields as well. There are alot of miqote in service industry jobs(so many waitresses and prostitutes) all seekers. The game generally gives a single name to Seekers but two names ot Keepers, this is not absolute but a slight trend that is broken at least once in LL. Similarly Keepers generally do not have an apostrophe in their names. Now onto Uldah there are 8 miqote npcs in all of the city. Divided evenly between the two clans. The majority seem to be adventurers there, asside from the three dancers. There are no males and none where named. Gridania has a grand total of 14 Miqote 7 seeker, 6 keeper 1 masked individual using Keeper naming schemes. The Keepers generally seem to be local while the seekers seem to be adventurers there. Based on the archery quest line there seems to have been a recent push since the Calamity for more Keepers to urbanize in Gridania where previously they had not, also Keeper archery seems to include trained animals which is not a part of the teachings one generally gets. Could this potentially mean that a future archery job that includes the training of animals might include more Keeper lore?
  23. It's pretty obviously an Arizona/New Mexico mirror based on the types of plants you see around and the degree of vegetation. The soil looks far too hard packed in some places, too sandy in others to support agriculture. That's why mining is the biggest economy there. La Noscea's where the ag stuff thrives. Then explain the royal plantation at 22 26 in central Than. I'm pretty sure than is supposed to be more like the Middle east enviroment wise, with huge expanses of desert but lush areas where people build cities.
  24. I thought Than was clearly the lush areas near a desert where you might feed people and such
