Tiergan Whores Self For Fun And Profit (Limited Commissions)
DreamedReality replied to Tiergan's topic in Artisan House
So amazing... @.@ -
Ah... time in mmos. So screwy. It's something that usually ends up getting hand-waved here and there. And I try to be flexible with how I perceive time passage in order to include others. As a general rule I follow a day ingame is roughly the same as a day in the real world. Unless whatever storyplot I happen to be in alters that in some way. And the folks I RP with generally seem to follow this as well. If it's technically morning in my corner of the globe and I'm RPing a scene and get asked: "How is your evening going?" I'm -usually- just going to roll with that scene taking place in the evening of that day. The only time I'd maybe send a /t to the other person and dispute that is if there has already been something going on that conflicts with that time in whatever storyline I happen to be in. However I will sometimes use ingame time as a measure of time when, say, traveling a bunch or fulfilling a 'quest'. And sometimes the RP itself dictates the passage of time. Because good researching/spying and the subsequent clearing out a camp of cultists might only be a single 4-hr RP session. But if we RP watching the camp 'all night' to see how guards rotate and such... well that's what happens. When I'm in casual/random RP I personally try and avoid mentions of time and time passage, simply to not create conflicts for the other person(s) or myself. If it's been 2 RL days and to them ICly it's been 2 days. Yet for me and whatever story I'm tied up in its been closer to 7 days... well. That's why I try and avoid things like: "How have you been? I haven't seen you in a week!" So I've rambled a lot. But time can be quite fluid. And if time is a factor or you're worried about it for a particular scene just send a /t to the person you're rping with and try to work it out oocly if you need to.

How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch?
DreamedReality replied to Dat Oni's topic in Character Workshop
Surprise touches for Jaques? No go. Violence is in store for the contact initiator. As a particular -surprise hugs!- Miqo found out in an RP already. ^^; Jaques has a hard time with casual contact. He is even leery of a handshake. Although he is unlikely to grow violent from 'friendly contact' he will: retreat from the contact, ignore it until it goes away, or try to intimidate the other person away. Amid those he trusts he's more open to it and to a select few he'll even initiate the contact. -
SAACHI'S POST SECRET: MYSTERY PENPALS [OPEN]
DreamedReality replied to Xifang's topic in Town Square (IC)
It was early morning, dawns light barely a glow on the horizon. Jaques's attention focused on the early morning bustle of the docks below his perch at the Anchor Yard. He idly watches the fisherman, privateers, yellow jackets, and naval personnel all jostle and vie for space as the glow on the horizon starts to grow. The Duskwight looks down to the neatly folded and sealed letter in his lap. The one him and Vaughn had written together. Breathing deeply the light sea breeze he glances behind himself, towards the Wench and the Mizzenmast. He lets the breath out in a sigh. Just walk in, leave the note, and walk out. Simple. Didn't have to go too near the Wench's counter. He'd done such a thing on several occasions. Yet the promise of sweet alcoholic oblivion seemed an especially loud siren's song this morning. "Simple." He mutters aloud before rising and starting to head back the way he came. His eyes settle on the decorative displays of the latest festival. It seemed there was always a festival being celebrated. Then he notices it. One of the birds had been crafted to look like a small moogle on a tiered display. A thought struck him and he drops the pack from his shoulder. After rummaging about inside it he pulls out a slightly battered notebook. He flips open to a blank page and starts to write in his hasty scrawl. He rips out the page and lets the ink dry before folding it and placing it inside a small envelope. He glances about the empty yard to double check he wasn't being observed before he messes with the display. He lifts up the smallest tier that held the moogle-bird and places the letter Vaughn and he had written letter beneath the tier. Replaces and adjusts the top of the display to look roughly how it did before he'd messed with it. With a satisfied nod he heads in the direction of the inn and tavern. Once at the tavern he gives a quick glance around, the place fairly quiet at such an early hour. The only patrons being a small knot of sailors having their 'morning bread'. He glances to the Wench's counter before walking to the Mizzenmast counter. "Leave this for Saachi." He relinquishes the short note to the attendant before turning to walk out. He pauses. He did just get those cherries... Vaughn would probably like bourbon soaked cherries as a dessert. He wouldn't drink any... He moves to the tavern's counter. "Bottle of bourbon." He pays for the bottle and stuffs it into his pack before he quickly retreats from the tavern. ((If Saachi decides to try and discover the other letter from the note, she'd find it written on clean parchment and penned in a hand that was much neater and easier to read than the hasty scrawl of the note.)) -

Love your work! And poor Ship...

I can cook. Sometimes I even like it. Especially if I'm experimenting. And I love browsing recipes. But the b/f has allergies so I have to be careful what I cook. (Tomatoes... he's allergic to tomatoes. And veggies closely related to tomatoes. I LOVE tomatoes... *sigh* :dodgy: )

Moving to Balmung server. Updated the clan wiki. I hope to see a lot of you ingame. I just wanted to say thanks for this thread. It's been a huge help in terms of finding the official lore all in one spot as well as sparking ideas from all the creativity. You guys rock!
-
This is the assumption I've also made based on available lore.

Koren is looking amazing!

I like the idea. And Isobeau is a great character to do that with. As for the name... how is -she- presenting it? Is she just deciding the hair and facepaint is just too much work simply to go out and grab a pastry and back? Or is she actually trying to be sneaky? On the whole I mean. (I realize that she can very easily do both.) And I'd base her name off of that. But I don't really worry about floaty player names too much.

*waves* Hiya Robyn. And welcome! And no worries about cross gendering RP. One doesn't poopoo on someone for writing an opposite gendered character for a story. And RP, all boiled down, is a community storytelling effort. So roll up a character you're comfortable with and get ready for some fun.

Many clans, if there is only one family involved (or one dominant family), seem to just be going off the family's last name. Eva's clan name is a french name based on the geographic location of the clan. Because my clan has multiple families, I took a page from her and did the same with my clan's name. *tips hat to Eva*

*bearhugs* You're so cute when you're angry! I'm sad Jaques won't be able to meet Chiané either... but I welcome Kya harassment! It'll be fun! ((Even if Jaques might not think so. ))

Yeah I try to eat on the healthier side so the butter thing is a no go for me. Interesting though Oops. Kinda implied that I used butter on the apple snack. Changed the original wording because I DON'T. I'm a crazy person but haven't jumped that far into the deep end... And I kinda sorta like my arteries functioning. Also you could change that to a healthy snack by not using the caramel syrup.
-
I'm really liking your lineart style! Well done.

I love the taste of butter and peanut butter together. So sometimes I'll spread it on butter crackers as a snack. Or I'll make toast, spread a good layer of butter on it, and then a thinner layer of peanut butter. Another tasty (and probably equally unhealthy) snack is to heat a bit of peanut butter up in a bowl so it's runny. Drizzle it and some caramel syrup over a bowl cut up apples. Delicious.

Starting about three years ago. When he was a wandering drunkard from the outskirts of the Shroud. Perhaps you gambled with him. Gave him a handout. Had a drunken brawl with him. Or perhaps you taunted him and scorned him. Or simply tried your best to ignore him. Very recently, you might have seen him in Ul'dah. He seems to have cleaned himself up and has not been begging or drunk as far as anyone has seen, if one recognizes him from the Black Shroud region. Rumor has it that he's joined the adventurer's guild. And he's been seen around the pugilists guild.

Added another one for Gilgamesh.

It started as a webcomic before being picked up by it's publisher. And thankfully the publisher allowed Ursula to it's entire archives up on the web. You can read it in it's entirety here: http://diggercomic.com/ ((It went through a stretch where you could preview the beginning couple chapters, and then only see the current and previous 5 updates sort of thing.))

Beautiful! I'd feel guilty cutting into many of these. Especially the Spyro one. (I would anyway... because cake is delicious.)
