Elezen Roleplayer Directory (with timezone)
DreamedReality replied to Michikyou's topic in Player Directory
Elezen Name: Jaques Guilllaume (yes... no 'c' in the first name. If there are ever name change options made available this will prolly change.) Elezen Clan: Duskwight Gender: Male Timezone: MTN (GMT-7) Looking For? Med-heavy RP Does your character fit the 'common' lore of your elezen or are they singular? Compliant. He grew up clanned. Has a prejudice against his Gridanian Wildwood cousins. And rather dislikes the whole common society thing. What are your RP limits? Not many. Jaques is in a committed relationship so you can try gettin' him in the sack. Just don't expect it to work. And no perma-death. Severe injury is fine if worked out OOC beforehand. -

What would you do if you got stuck in Final Fantasy?
DreamedReality replied to Vashies Rosada's topic in RP Discussion
I'd probably do what I could to follow the directives and 'beat' the game. Probably as a crafter to supply the fighty types. I wouldn't want to be stuck on Eorzea as a game. Too many restrictions. Stuck in Eorzea as a world however... then I might not want to find a way back. >.>; Also, I'd do what Mcbeef said along the way... for science. -
"Ah, I would like to learn more about you and yours at some point." Gives a faint smile, "But you're hear to learn of us." Motions about vaguely, "This main floor is largely the common areas and free for any who live here to enter and use freely, except the kitchen and our office." He sets a hand on Vaughn's knee in an unconscious gesture. "And as you saw," motions towards the nearby dining area with the other hand, "we have ample space to hold lessons." Pauses slightly, "Chiane, the woman currently instructing, also teaches a couple of the Freed here how to manipulate the aether that they have access to. And she's only filling in as the mathematics instructor until we can find a more permanent one. We have two other instructors as well." Glances to Vaughn before shifting his gaze back to Faye and Val, "I'll show you around now, if you're ready. And don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions." Shifts to rise as he looks expectantly to their guests.

For some reason the time/measurement works keep replacing the real world counterparts. :dodgy: "The cord needs to be seven ilms." "Oh yeah, last moon..." "In two suns..."

I wonder who these handsome Duskys are... -
Otto is a snappy dresser in game and out.
-
Listens to the growing list, a brow raising a fraction, "That is quite a broad array of projects. Little wonder you mentioned being accustomed to travel. You must be a large organization then, to keep up with that many things at once?"
-
Jaques munches a couple of the berries from the fruitbowl as he listens to Faye and Vaughn speak and watches the silent interactions between the two lovers in front of him. He then waits for Faye to either accept or decline more tea before speaking, "I would like to know a bit more about your company... You've said your company's goal is to aide the people of Eorzea in our first meeting. But what current projects are you working on?"
-
Watches the healer's features cloud and darken. Jaques shifts slightly, ready to move incase the woman directed her rising anger towards them. But eases somewhat when he realized the anger wasn't being directed towards them and waits for the doctor to respond. He's about to speak after the doctor agrees to help but Vaughn beats him to it. So he falls silent, nodding to the first question. Then frowns slightly and casts Vaughn a hard look at the second.

It was the middle of the night, broheim. The desert gets relatively cold when the sun ain't shinin'. We sand-pounders ain't used to cold. You people need to get out more. I hear the Coerthas is nice this time of year. -
Jaques caught most of what Vaughn had just been saying as he returned from the kitchen, taking note of the obvious shift in mood and Vaughn's flushed cheeks. In one hand he carried four glasses, stacked upside down. The other was a clear glass pitcher with two, slightly glowing water cores spinning in the bottom to keep the water cold. He sets the glasses down and pulls the top one from the stack, pouring himself a glass. He sets the pitcher down next to the glasses and takes a seat next to Vaughn. Taking a drink he allows their guests a moment to respond to whatever conversation he'd just walked back into.

-Why- are they wearing such things in the middle of Ul'dah?! Are they -trying- to bring on heatstroke?! -
The Duskwight relaxes slightly as Vaughn covers for him, taking up his own cup as it's presented before him. He takes a sip in an attempt to cover his amusement at the clear distaste the Miqo'te across from him found in his beverage. The more he watched the man the more the other man resembled what he -felt-. Entirely out of place in this scenario. He envied the other man at his luxury of being able to show it. But if Jaques knew anything about nobles... it's that they were serpents. If he showed too much that he had no idea what he was doing he was afraid of the strike. It'd happened before in their unsuccessful solicitations with the nobles around Ul'dah. He sets his own cup down, deciding to have a bit of mercy on the Miqo'te, "I think some cold water would be nice, actually." He adds quickly so that it wasn't -him- having to stay here, alone, with the two across from him. "I'll go get us some." He moves away towards the kitchen. That was almost tactful. Maybe.
-
Jaques closes the door behind them and murmurs a quiet, "Good, I'm glad." As Faye relays the ease of finding their place. Then falls silent as he allows the pair a moment to look about and gauges their reactions. Night and day, these two seemed. The man only seemed to grow more on edge and uncomfortable while the white lady at least seemed pleased and he gave a "Thank you" to the spoken praise. He'd been about to start telling them about what they could see when Vaughn entered with the laden tray. With an inward cringe he lost what he was just about to say as things suddenly went off script from how he planned their visit to go. A tour with a few planned things said about each place and then, perhaps, sitting down to further talk and answer questions. But talking first? What did they have to talk about yet? Following the pair over he let them pick their couch before lowering himself into the seat across from them, back straight as he struggles with his own unease. He catches Val staring intently at Vaughn and has to fight a his own features hardening as his own feelings of protectiveness rose at the rather aggressive guard front the miqo'te was putting on. All this was further pushing his carefully constructed front of over-politeness further from him. Entertaining nobles was never something he thought he'd have to do. Hells, -needing- something from nobles was not something he'd ever planned on. And this woman simply screamed 'noble' with every action and he needed her donation and support. He glances down to the tea as Vaughn pours. The man had chosen the thanalan tea accented with rosehips. If the clear, pink-tinged liquid was any indication. He takes a slow breath in an attempt to calm himself of the rising panic he felt at not knowing what to say or do next. His eyes flicker to Vaughn, trying to catch the man's gaze, his own all but saying 'help me'.

How do you see the Twelve?
DreamedReality replied to WanderingWordsmith's topic in Character Workshop
Jaques believes in the existence of the Twelve. But he doesn't find any comfort in their existence. He doesn't believe that anything comes from devotion or praying to them. And depending on the day and his current musings he swings between two different outlooks. 1. He's not even certain that the Twelve exist beyond a the concept and archtype they represent. Were they able to think or ration outside their archtypes? Did they indeed think or even had a sense of self? Perhaps the depictions people gave to the Twelve were projections of those trying to give meaning to these larger cosmic forces. And why would these larger cosmic forces give a damn about their individual existences? His answer is they don't. 2. And if they were capable and -did-... that thought greatly unnerves him now. He views them as unmoving, unforgiving, uncaring beings. Beings that do a whole lot of taking and manipulating. Holding a lot of expectations. And offering little to no reasons or answers. And he holds a certain amount of fear for Nymeia. -
At the raised brow Jaques responds to the silent question, "The guests I mentioned to you yesterday should be arriving soon. I'd appreciate it if you didn't pick a fight or try and intimidate them. We could use their support in keeping this place running." He looks about to say more before movement catches his gaze, drawing his attention to the white glad figure and her darker clad bodyguard approaching. He was surprised to see her guard was out of his fancy ornate armour and in something equally fancy but much less protective. Armour for the estate but fancy dress when out in the world. He didn't even pretend to understand. Though he found his gaze was drawn back to the woman, so fair and out of place in these side alleys. She probably drew the attention of everyone she had passed on her way here. He gives the pair a shallow bow, his expression carefully neutral in place of his typical scowl. If he noticed the change in demeanor on Val's part he wasn't letting it show. "Greetings and welcome, Lady Faye. Val." He straightens, motioning the silent Duskwight opposite him. The other Duskwight was about the same height as Jaques and outfitted in full plate armour, sans helm, and a sword hanging at his side. He had the typical blue-grey tone of other Duskwights, dark hair, and his face was lined with several scars. Just above the line of his armour they'd also be able to see the top edge of what had to be a nasty scar that ran around the front of his throat, "Our doorguard, Remioux." After a slight pause he moves to open the front doors. Motioning the pair inside the cool and darker interior, "I hope you had no issues finding the street?"

Is being a fighting RPer a turn off to other RPer's?
DreamedReality replied to LiveVoltage's topic in RP Discussion
I think you've broken the scale, this requires a new classification of sueness, McSue, Nat-sue? Natsue... I suddenly feel the need to go get sushi. Sue Beef! It's what has you for dinner! And gets away with it with her high powered lesbian connections. Edit cuz Aysun has a point: I also can't say one way or the other if anyone was in the 'wrong'. Without seeing logs and seeing how things were presented and taken. Or see if it was just a clash of styles. And hopefully it'll be a point that is brought up sooner by the folks that backed out of the plot in the future so this doesn't happen again. Since it's a fairly relevant point to make for two opposing groups or individuals. And I've also never heard of anyone distinguishing themselves as a 'combat' rper. But no, there is nothing wrong with adding combat into your RP. There is even a thread here in these forums discussing the various ways people incorporate combat and try to keep it fair. There have been several places I've seen tips being given to new folks wanting to join RP or start RP combat. But I think you have the right of it. Trying to find others that are more in line with your own RP tastes. If they don't want any physical conflict ever in their RP then that's their choice I suppose. And I am sorry it took so long for them to tell you combat conflict wasn't something they'd do. Hope you manage to find others that are more in line with what you're looking for in your plot. -

You could also consider Vesper Bay as a possible location. It's just a boat ride between there and Limsa. -

[Idea-Shopping] Dubious Day: Swap Meet and Junk Exchange
DreamedReality replied to Verad's topic in Chronicled Events
For a second I really had the thinking of Roen bringing Nero as a "junk exchange" I should join in on this because it seems very interesting. .... I meant MY character! Which one of my characters I will bring! I'm -sure- you did... Completely. -
OK, the pudding is now named 'Wilbur'. Yes, I am a terrible person. *snickers* Glad I'm not the only terrible person.
