  1. Works for EU too! I did mine this morning! :3
  2. So... this happened! OOCly of course. And whom, do you ask, is the lucky so and so? ... Its a D'ly! She doesn't seem too thrilled... They cuddled it out. And then the playfulness began! -Jaws theme- -Dun-dun, dun-dun, dun-dun, DUN-DUN...!- Ack! Oww! Two can play the nibbles game!
  3. Its a Yangh-Ra! I'm astonished that her face is still present even within the Au-Ra character creation.
  4. It looks like she's holding Sounsyy back! "No, no. I got this."
  5. NONE OF YOU WARNED ME THE MALE AU RA HAD A JOJO'S POSE! ; w ; And so... I made an Au Ra. -swoons-
  6. So... my motivation to RP has somewhat returned (It took a while) and here's a Yangh. She's hard at work practicing with her special snowflake nom-nom Scimitar. Its so pretty... I almost feel like a real Blue Mage ;w; Practice, Practice! I totally love the lighting Mantra gives in darker weather. So pretty.
  7. I'm suddenly reminded of Johnny from Guilty Gear. I support and endorse this completely.
  8. Since we're talking BLU I might as well throw in my existing concept of how I do it... even though I mostly RP it with VERY few people because peoples like to get reaaallll antsy about grey areas of lore (and non existing too) and rightly so. The method I took with BLU was akin to a parasitic weapon (A Scimitar obviously) that actively seeks monsters and guides the user to them in order to feed on them. Once defeated, the weapon severs and captures the aether of said monster as it attempts to return to the life stream (Much like Odin severs and binds, and much like the process we see in the MSQ with the Ascian and crystal). The essence of the monster is then stored within one of eight un-aspected aetherical crystals that are set in to the hilt of the weapon itself which can then be called on for later use. Actually calling upon the monster skill itself is a question of the users will to force it to manifest and spoken words of power (In Yangh's case she speaks her native tongue to force the spells to manifest). Every essence will fight and struggle against the user as they are commanded and more so still when they are bound back to the crystal. If the users will is overcome, the weapon then devours the user instead and becomes dormant. Each essence is effectively bound to the user who trapped it and is dispersed when they either die or is devoured. I went with this method simply because it lines up with known lore (Even though it didn't at the time but luckily it all worked out) and things we have seen and read about in the game itself. The question of RP balance is down to the delivery as Melkire mentioned. Its a powerful concept and the real challenge is curbing its potentially overwhelming power, which is easy enough done... especially as most of the spells she uses are of protective nature. She has very few direct attack spells. -takes breath- I'd also like to echo the advice already given and say that there will be some or perhaps even many who would not be happy with the concept (I've met a few) and that's completely fine. People have opinions, they have their right to them just the same as you having the right to RP whatever you want. Anyway... just thought I'd share that, might help you or someone further down the road! Sorry for the wall of text!
  9. Everyone who knows me knows that I am a Blue Mage supremacist and thus I support any and all attempts at Blue Magery! That aside, I've not much to add to what you wrote, however, I have been RPing a Pseudo Blue Mage concept for my character Yangh for the best part of 8 months, I think? I went a completely different route to your concept though. I instead used current known lore to construct a method that would allow my character to learn and hold monster magicks and attacks. This works very similar to the way Odin does (I came up with the concept long before the lore of Odin was revealed mind you!) and I even posted a pre-mature version of it on this board... somewhere! I'd be happy to share notes and such if you like! I support this foray in to Blue Magery!
  10. So... this happened. I'm not sorry Bexy. He's mine now.
  11. Tonight, right this second... fast food turned up at my door, already paid for... and neither myself nor anyone in the house has ordered it. Checked both neighbours... nope! So I guess... gathering lots of crystals and wishing hard enough really DOES work! Thanks Eorzea!
  12. After re-watching the trailer a few times... contrary to what I once thought about DRG jumps as they're portrayed mechanic wise in the game, they are incredibley fast, extremely accurate and can be propelled without any aiding force (One of the Dragoon's literally changes direction and fires himself down like a bullet. That was cool.) I used to think they jumped and fell but... according to the trailer that isn't the case. 'Goon's be scary. @w@
  13. yeah, if only they could do the same for NIN Nin? Shit tier? What? I pull 500+ DPS as a Ninja. They're the best burst melee dps in the game at the moment and give amazing group support. Vulnerability? Yes please. Bonus slashing damage? yes please. sure they're no Monk with dragon kick - but geeze, a monk in similar gear will only ever pull 20-40 dps more than me. Okay i'll bite on this one... DRG is the best burst melee in the game. Its kind of what they do. For about 25 secs they wreck so much face its crazy. If the Monk's you're seeing are only pulling slightly more DPS than you with equivalent gear then I can only assume the mechanics work against them (They often do, keeping GL up is very annoying sometimes.) or they're just not giving it their all / not very good ect. A great monk is unparalleled melee wise if the fight is kindish to them and they have some real skill with the class. NIN is still a great class, by no means weak, but it IS the weaker of the three melee but not by a massive amount. SE did a great job balancing them in my opinion. I like them all if truth be told. As or vulnerability / slash debuff. A friend of mine once said, and quite harshly at that, "Why would you take a NIN when you could take a MNK?". While I don't exactly agree with that sentiment, I do see their point.
  14. I don't suppose I could get some details on the roll system you'll be using? =o
  15. When it comes to this type of combat first and foremost it about communication and simply put, excellent descriptive writing. A bit of common sense and moderation doesn't go a miss either. Can you do some funky stuff? Sure! Just don't forget that there are pro's and con's to these very special attacks. We see that even in the MSQ cut scene with Raubahn. Is he extremely strong when he uses his aether like that? Yes! But he sure as hell isn't as quick as Illberd (I forget if that's the right spelling.). Illberd is MUCH faster and seems to switch the way he uses his aether for such purposes, juggling between strength and speed, but never having both at once. I guess what I'm saying is... be sensible with it. Do cool things, plan for what happens when those things miss, backfire, are countered, ect. Assume that you're not the only one who can do these things. What happens if they can equally defend against what you did with something equally as flashy or impressive? Forward thinking and an understanding of consequence on both sides. I'm rambling. >.<;
  16. Yangh is an incredibly funny drunk, letting her well guarded filter slip and just rambling aimlessly. P'azih is... a clumsy and arrogant drunk. Thinks he's invincible... the last time he was drunk he lost a fight to a training dummy.
  17. You've no idea how correct you are... [EDIT] - I should probably address the actual topic of the thread... let's see... Warren - Over protective father watching from the windows of the house as his daughter gets taken to prom. I can imagine him giving those stern talking to's while his daughter is upstiars for a moment. Aya - Literally your best friend who fixes everything with shopping and ice cream! Eleni - Actual real life bunny. Cuteness and twitchy nose and all! Sounsyy - Sleeps on a bed made of books, a blanket made of tomes, pillows made parchment. Glasses... glasses everywhere... walls covered in lore progression road map theories!
  18. Poor Mak! ;w; But! New hair! Damn its really cute on her... I forgot how photogenic Yangh is. @w@
  19. I still ship Yansyy. Ohh! You took some screens after all! Love the sunset one!
  20. A wild Yangh appears after many moons of doing gods know what and being gods know where. It seems she's made a new friend =o In other news... she also managed to catch up with a certain someone! Who could it be?! Its a Sounsyy! Much fun was had by all.
  21. -Kicks Sounsyy out of bed- "You're needed." -tosses pants at-
  22. I actually stole an idea from Dogberry back in the day which was basically using the FF11 race names as insults within the FF14 world. Its not lore at all... but its a nice little throwback for me so i just kept with it! Thanks Dog! ♥
  23. Not quite three months but oh well! Hey look! These are nice! Sounsyy ready to murder me. :c A run from Pharos a while back... D'ly looks quite amused by something! owo And finally, Kivhi getting a little too close... gotcha' nose!
  24. Time for my 3 monthly screenshot post. Too much doom and gloom as of late... Take this! Team W.H.O! Wonderous Hype-Healing Owls! P'azih Tia and Kivhi Yugha repspectively... BUT YOU DON'T KNOW THAT! Its a secret... shhh...
