Was an Elvaan in FFXI to start, always hated the way my huge neck and shoulders looked on the female white mage I made. Then got had a mithra thf, liked the animations so going with miqo'te to start in FFXIV. Also even though i'm male, the cynical and easy to bore personality fits myself in real life pretty well, so its easy to RP as one when I RP.

Bluegartr appears to have Jecht as their server of choice for beta, most likely if the name stays they will go with it for live, not sure. I know CKD from FFXI are leaning towards Garland or possibly Emperor, they are not 100% yet. I'll be basing my vote upon CKD and BG, CKD were notorious jackasses in FFXI later on in the game and BG is a huge entity.

Not really sure why it's saying your CPU isn't good enough. I got the video card thing as well where all of the sub options for my card were fine but I just didn't have the right model type *eye roll* Either way you're fine to run it high. My system ran the beta fine with settings all on high but no AA.

I usually log tons and tons of days spent in game...and I think to myself "shit how did I spend that much time?" then I realize that I often just go afk and leave myself in game, or in FFXI I would go to bed/work and leave myself with a bazaar open. In WoW I would just afk in the city while reading, or dick around outside a town dueling or doing something else not constructive at all.

Best quote on a forum so far that i've seen was someone claiming they were part of the "hardcore" crowd because they could grind up faster then other people... That doesnt make you hardcore, leveling in an MMO is the easiest part of every MMO, you arnt hardcore for going faster then someone else. Everyone gets to level cap, there's nothing hardcore about it.

People need to calm down and understand that SE has even said that the system in Beta 3 was not working properly, which is what the uproar is about and based off of. They have said too that they are listening to feedback, tweaking their methods and looking into options. People can just take a breather.

How do you mean? It effects the amount of xp you gain after a certain threshold is hit, and then slowly begins to lower the % of xp you gain until you reach 0%. Wherein you have to swap classes if you are still in a grinding mood...or just keep grinding for items and materials....or take a shower

No one knows what the cap is, it's a formula SE made to show how much an average human being would be able to gain xping for a total of 8hrs a day. After that amount of xp has been gained by you, you begin to suffer fatigue until you reach 0% xp gained. Swapping to another class will reset this though so it's not a big deal at all. It just forces people to actually level other jobs (which they will need to do anyways) and stops people from botting to max level or burning to the top, like WoW, and then complaining there's jack all to do.

I think the reduction to 0% is shit. They could have just reduced xp gained to 50% and stopped there and I would be fine with it, granted it doesnt carry over from class to class but only physical level...which I can understand somewhat. They want to keep your P.lvl balanced with your class level.

Pie = Magic Acc Dex= Melee Acc Vit= dmg taken str = dmg done Vit and str go off each other to determine how much dmg is done Int is magic dmg I believe Mind is magic resistance those 2 are the same as str and vit I Believe.

RMT were such a major force in L2 due to the sole fact that every mob had a chance of dropping very very rare items that they could just bot the hell out of and then sell for insane amounts of cash.

Fight near crystals if you're a mage, melee characters should be going further out into the field if they want to grind because we can regen hp, casters should be hanging near the crystal so when they deplete their mp they can just refill again. I'm fine with this. The second the AH is put into the game, RMT will swoop in and ruin the economy,ala Aion style. I would rather go a few months with players stabilizing the economy through trades.

I was looking at Star Wars:The Old Republic..but meh everything ive seen from that game makes me cringe. Guild Wars 2 looks promising, even though that's not really a MMO to speak of. I might screw around on my gf's WoW account for Cataclysm to check out the new areas, but not going to bother doing anything more on that front. TERRA looked interesting, but it just comes across as yet another korean MMO that will be junk 2 months in. I've been waiting...5+yrs for FFXIV, going to play it for some time before even giving thought to another MMO.

I think they said more will be added for live. If they are just lying, will be putting in a lot more, or WANT to put in more but won't be able to is to be seen. I hope they hold to their word and put some more customizing in. Just to address this, not sure how high lvl you are but from my other forum they say guild leves will increase in time needed to complete by a good amount, and become more plentiful. Keep in mind there will be 3 other starting areas, all with their own leves i'm sure, and if transportation between them is allowed early on then that's triple the amount available in beta. Not to mention they may add more. The reason they have the cooldown, which i'm not sure will even come into live with that large of a cooldown is the amount of xp you get from the later guildleve's is HUGE. They don't want people bursting out levels like nothing and hitting max level in a week or 2 like WoW. My opinion at least.
