This is something that I could see a lot of groups getting pissy at you about, especially in the later levels where it gets a bit more difficult. Mainly tanks don't like it, but usually you'll find the 'hatred' of this style originating from people who have played other MMOs before, and just are 'used' to a the flow of things. On a personal level as a healer, I couldn't care less because I just heal who needs healing, I usually don't pay attention to -where- that damage came from unless it's a giant red circle on my face. However, I know that I -personally- don't have 'pet' health displayed (Or if you even can display it) So if your Topaz Carbuncle died and then you yelled at me. I would -probably- huff and puff and.... not reply at all because I'm a doormat and I don't get angry. SO IN SHORT; Most people will have a problem with that, especially later. As for me personally? DUNNAE GIVE A :moogle:

To throw in my two gil, it's usually the Conjurer's fault. I made this mistake for the first few dungeons as well. The thing is, Cure costs very little mana and generates a -high- amount of hate. So people tend to get bored and spam it as insurence, or start casting it -as- the tank is running in. Essentially, I've managed to avoid the 'let's kill the healer' motto from mobs now because I use my heals much more sparingly, waiting until he's actually low enough for me to do something about it. But speaking from a healer's perspective, I agree with Kismet on the fact that I prefer it if people stick to their roles. I do the healing, tank does the tanking, everyone else kills things. No Topaz carbuncles in sight! But of course if they choose to break the meta, that just makes my job harder, which keeps me awake. SO that's a plus!

Very true! If you're speaking strictly below level 30, then yeah. I'd agree, but even then.. I've never ran into a single mana issue as a CNJ in lower levels. I often find myself falling asleep even still at level 34. The only fight that I even had to pay the slightest attention to was the final boss of Brayflox so far. So again, I'd say it's just go with whatever you want to go with. By the looks I'd agree that Arcanist is better simply due to their carbuncle as an added group member. But healing is so snooze-fest easy that I doubt it truly matters if you go as a CNJ or Arcanist... Or maybe even a Thaumaturge. (...They have a heal right?)

I'm rolling as a 34 WHM right now. (LOOK I got distracted with crafting for the past week) Annd yeah, I'm by no means an expert. But essentially what Bea said! Arcanist has generally 'one' heal. While Conjurer gets Medica, which is an AoE (Though it has a pretty short range) on top of that they also get Cure II which is a bigger heal than Cure one. However, what makes it so awesome is the level 32 passive! Which is called "Free Cure" essentially, everytime you use Cure I, you have a chance to proc "Free Cure" which makes your next Cure II cost no mana. On top of having that awesome sauce passive. You also have the ability to cure ailments such as poison and stuff using the move Esuna. And they also get Protect (Even though you could just borrow it anyways) annnd Stoneskin at level 34. Stoneskin essentially absorbs 10% of damage based on 10% of the Tank's health. Which is very snazzy Actually, CNJ gets a passive at 28 called Enhanced Raise, that lets them use Raise in Combat as well. I'd say it's up to personal preference, after all it's your game! But, that's what I see the benefits of being a CNJ Healer!

If you abandon your anime hair I'm ICly dumping your character. (Juuust kidding, maybe.) ALSO. S'demyx got his angel bites.

That hat is quite literally the reason I leveled Weaving. Girls, GIRLS. Clearly the men need to show you how this 'gathering' is done! ...Spandex tights are IN by the way.
-
Problem is, we all dress like women. *Pirouettes away* I mean, my main RP outfit right now is spandex tights. LOOK I LIKE THEM OKAY.
-
See, I used to think that too. Then S'demyx told me that 'an heros' means to 'off himself'.... It's very convoluted.
-
I have more RAWKS for you.
-
AHA, NO. You're staying right here with me. You'll get in eventually.

...This took me a really long time to understand... I need more sleep. :sleepy:

Now, I have NO idea what set this is, but I saw this guy in Limsa and I fell in love with that robe. I do know it's a level 50 Green item (Cannot be dyed) and CNJ / WHM can't use it (I cried a bit) Best part? I'm actually behind him, not in first person *Short Miqo*

At first I was like "...It's just the Adventure guild lady." Then I realized the smallest cropping of your head, and I nearly spat out my coffee... Thank you for that.

It seems the tables have turned. Now he actually does look badass, and I look like a banana... *Sigh* Still heart melting.

I'm reviving this thread, after all it IS for Early Access too! And I bring you, the most adorable couple to date. - And Mr.Badass rocking his pink oven mitts and dress.
-
Well, here we are again. It's... always such a pleasure. Error 90000 has teamed up with his buddy Error 10102. In a fiendish plan to prevent all access to myself and L'ohke. OH THE HUMANITY!
-
For those who are unaware, the servers are back up. They have a tendency of not actually sticking to their times. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!
-
Forget the girls, c'mere~ ...*Cough* ...Welcome to the RPC.
-
L'ohke and I tried to do one of the Storyline's instanced quests and we got booted at the loading screens, then we kept getting stuck on Error 90000 at the loading screen to get back in. Annnd now I'm in and he's not. WEIRDNESS

If your client keeps failing, just keep bashing your head against the same wall. Mine worked on like the 10th try.

I got into character creation already but NA / EU servers are down, Japanese servers are fine. Bawahaha. HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, but I'm sure they'll be up momentarily. Be patient everyone~

"Let's see how many gifs we can relate to the situation" Is what the thread should really be called. ...It just... Won't... let me... in..
-
I cannot WAIT to instantly deal with server issues and congestion and watch everyone come crawling back with sad faces and tears. MUAHAH- I mean.... C'MOOOON HURRY UP!

HOKAY *Cracks knuckles* First off, Hi. Second off, Nice Avatar, Frost is a babe- There I said it. A: For classes you can be literally anything, as with FFXIV you can have 1 character level every single class. As to which one would suit -you-, well you can try them all out first. But as you prefer melee it seems, I'd suggest a Lancer, due to it's speed and damage. It's the fast melee class, other than Pugilist. Which you can take the job later for, and become a Dragoon! 2: Gilgamesh is a fresh unofficial RP server, so it will have a clean slated community, but that also means that server has to build up it's own community (Which is already pretty awesome just from forum work!) Balmung is Legacy, which means that people from the first game or as it's called 1.0, can bring over their past characters. However, it is in NO way exclusive to them. I've never touched or even seen 1.0 and I'll be rolling on Balmung. It's a more fleshed out community, having more linkshells and such off the bat, but it's in NO way hindering to new players (As I've found!) So, the choice is yours! Most people are going on both! D: Guilds in this game are interesting. Link shells aren't really 'guilds' they're more like the custom chat channels in WoW, you know how you could make your own 'general chat' and invite your friends? But no one ever did that anyways? Yeah it's like those. The actual GUILDS however are called Free Companies, which work similar to WoW"s guilds in the sense you get benefits for being with them, and helping them and stuff. And there is an OOC linkshell I do believe, but you can check them all out by pressing the "Linkshell" button on the hotbar up at the top of the website. 4: To my knowledge, there are no racials or passives or anything of the sort to do with race choice. However, your 'god choice' seems to alter your stats slightly (Doesn't really matter, it affects elemental stuff) 18: It's more just Tank, Dps, and Heal now. As they've made some changes to Bard and it's now primarily a ranged DPS. It still has supporting potential, but it has a lot more damage than it previously did. Q: Yes, I believe they are mandatory. You have to make a first, and surname at the end of character creation. I hope these suffice, and are accurate! Hope to see you in gaaame~

...Technical mumbo jumbo, I don't care if they made Lalafell shorter and Chocobo's slower! JUST LET ME PLAY, SQUARE!
