  1. I will be working on a blog but at the moment I don't really have a focus. I just wanted a place to purge some of the randomness from my mind. As usual, there's just not enough time in the day to do what I'd like.
  2. I'm constantly in awe of the artistic talent in this forum. I'm particularly jealous of people who can take things from their minds and put it to 'paper' AND make it look effortless. I've tried my hand at drawing anime-style but I am just pants at it. Makes me wish I'd kept up with studio art after Uni.... that was a while ago. I guess I can thank all of you talented types for challenging me to pick it up again. Back on topic - I hope we'll see more of your work as it's fab!

Fantastic work! You make it seem effortless the way that you capture expressions and poses. I hope we'll get to see more of this. *goes back to current project and banging head against the desk*
  4. Very nice work - adorable! :bounce:
  5. Thank you for collating these - very helpful.
  6. That's so adorable! Good work! The eyes are definitely the puller for me. I know what you mean about feeling rusty. I'm in the middle of a project myself and I'm all but banging my head against the desk. I haven't done anything serious in almost 10 years. :frustrated: I hope we get to see more of your work.
  7. I would personally be more concerned about the inability to type in a custom emote than be unable to do a slash command for standard emotes. While a lot of them look really fab (albeit a few are over the top!), sometimes only a custom emote will do. Hopefully they will have things sorted by release and if not, well there's always the beloved asterisk. :approve:
  8. I love concept art - doodles, poses, etc... it's the whole thought process that I find to be the most interesting and fun. You can imagine little stories that go along with the moment. Nice work! Way to get into the characters.
  9. I'm jumping on the SW:TOR bandwagon once it drives by (unless I change my mind once it's released). I'm trying not to get too swayed by other MMOs that will be released soon (MMO overload!), although I may play DC Universe with my hubby some as he is dead set on getting it.
  10. Thank you very much guys, keep those comments rolling. :cheer:
  11. I thought the whole point of having a paid subscription to file planet is that you can download things faster.
  12. Thank you for this review. I have almost no free time to sift through the amazing amount of feedback that's been posted on other forums since yesterday and it is so difficult to find constructive and honest feedback that isn't overly judgemental at such an early phase. So again, thank you for being so objective and giving a good wrap-up on each point! I really try to avoid official/unofficial forums like the plague. There is always so much negativity and the MMO vultures tend to come swooping down on anything new, complain, rant, finish content quickly, say 'it's not like WoW' (grumble... grrrrrr), then move on to the next thing, leaving a meagre assortment of pickings behind. I was in the queue for the post office yesterday and saw a gaming magazine (I think it was gamesTM) on the shelf with a FFXIV preview and the tagline was something like: will it compete with rival WoW? Sigh... 5+ years later and some people still don't get it. Wow, I find it surprising that your points 1 and 2 aren't already incorporated!
  13. Excellent, thank you for this.
  14. Anyone living in the US should try Mrs. Renfro's Habanero salsa. It's fantastic but after a while you're reaching for any type of cool liquid... and before you realize what a bad idea it's too late... the fire has spread! :frustrated:
  15. Well, it wouldn't be zombie survival without a zombie... and every now and then I'm known to start feeling a bit itchy and mouldy... Be prepared... hungry for braaaiiinnnsss!
  16. Intriguing idea. I share similar sentiments as Axl. I still use ventrilo with some old RL WoW friends, but every time I joined a guild vent chat when playing on the EU servers I felt very self conscious for getting a bit of undesired attention. From that point on if I was on I was usually silent/muted. I am not an attention hog at all and prefer to be in the background. If it's something official you're after, there'd be a lot to keep in mind - would it remain IC? Would there be separate channels for IC/OOC? What would it cost to maintain and who would see to the maintenance? Would we have enough slots to cater to all those interested in joining? I'd be happy to contribute toward it if enough people wanted to get it off the ground, whether or not I actively participated in its use. Oh and I use skype as well but usually for calls to my siblings across the giant pond.
  17. Yikes, you turn your back for half a day and there's already a preponderance of new posts! I finally caved and preordered the CE. I was not sure I was ready to make the commitment, but it looks like I'm invested now. I've got Amazon Prime, but I did notice the price difference in the US/EU package: £39.99 (currently) $74.99 (currently) Looks like the US peeps are paying a wee bit more (£7.04 or $11.23)!
  18. Thanks for giving a lurker some fab reading material during her spare time. I hope to join in eventually but for now I'm quite happy to stay lurking! :cat:
  19. Awww I love them all! And wow, I had no idea what I was starting by posting those pics, lol!
  20. Excellent... really want to see more. I can't wait for the next instalment!
  21.   I've been married for 7 years (my husband and I met playing online.. unsurprisingly). I've RPed some rather long term romantic relationships with several people, but I've had the good fortune of having very meaningful, enriching experiences. Looking back I belive it had to do with setting clear boundaries as to what I was/was not comfortable with. I think it sends a clear message straight away and avoids any possible drama that might arise when under pressure. I don't go looking for romantic relationships and I never play overly flirtatious characters (I would be pants at it anyway), so if an opportunity for a relationship IC starts to blossom, I tend to be very cautious (or oblivious, depending on how you look at it). It will almost always be a very long journey. My OH has no issue with me RPing relationships... I once played out a rather violent shouting scene with a good friend whose character was deluded into thinking my character was strongly attracted to him. Nothing physically/mentally abusive happened because we set down boundaries early on. Perhaps this directly influenced the outcome but in my opinion no one should feel they have to act out something they are uncomfortable with for the sake of staying IC. I believe it is most important for the person mentally and physically behind the toon to stay safe in all respects. I've seen too many friends hurt by bad, abusive, or blatantly manipulative relationships IC and OOC and I would shudder to see it happen again. Not to go all depressive mode... IC romance is great when all goes well. Nothing wrong with a good old snogging sesh! I just like to play the (pretend) voice of Reason sometimes.
  22. I've just recently got a warhammer starter kit for the OH and I to paint together. Your work makes me feel like I should quit while I'm ahead. Very impressive!! :cheer:
  23. 16 pages to catch up on ... I'm going cross-eyed! :study: I have no experience of playing FFXI or what it was like trying to thrive on an international server. I think it would be an amazing opportunity, language barriers aside. I've played on American and EU servers mostly. Ages ago I played with some Swedish, Greek, and Israeli players on a DAoC European server. That was a really fun and enriching experience. Most of the topics raised have been thoroughly discussed already. I don't have any real strong opinions but I do have a thought regarding the server choice. My reason for finding the RPC is that I naturally sought a group of roleplayers to play and interact with. I can understand that some might be a bit upset if we don't all end up in the same place, but that shouldn't discourage anyone from participating in some cross-server plotlines (unless the mechanics of the game make it impossible to do so). In my old SWG days there were often times when good friends decided to move server for whatever reason and I would create a temporary or 'throwaway' character (either based on one already written for the story arc or a sort of NPC which could be fleshed out a bit more). My friends wouldn't even know it was me until long after the plotline was finished. It was like a really nice surprise for them with the added benefit that they were RPing without any prompting or preset expectations whatsoever. We even had a bit of a network with other RPing communities on different servers... like an exchange of sorts. It mixed things up a bit, sometimes threw you into the thick of things, but it was always a lot of fun! This might not be the ideal solution for everyone... since I'm sure that most would prefer to play a main and not some throwaway piece of fodder. I'm sure that whatever happens, we will always have this place to ground us and keep us communicating.
