Basically all of the above. Biggest issue is actually a small one and is no ones fault but my own. And that is seeing the same race majority, it's no surprise to me to find Miqo'te and Hyur are very popular but I myself am a fan of Roegadyn and Au'ra and there doesn't seem to be as many of them around.

Ahh, fair enough. I assumed it was like world of warcraft where all you had to do was purchase the product key, enter it and you'd unlock all the new stuff right away. Time to cry over the 7 hour long download. 0.2MB per second download speed SUCKS nd I'm lucky if it even goes that high

So I just bought Heavensward and I was under the impression that soon as I bought it and entered the code into the mog station it would simply unlock all the new stuff since I could already seen Au ra in game and such but instead it's given me a download. Normally that wouldn't be an issue but after a little look online the download I'm supposed to get is roughly n 8 GB one, but the one I've got is just 4GB. Should I be worried that I'm downloading what seems to be just half the expansion or is this normal?

I feel I should note that Balmung is a bit hard to get into, you'll want to tamper with the character creator in the EU afternoon if you can - that is when Balmung is most likely to open up. Paying for a transfer will bypass this, but obviously that's a bit demanding of ones financial situation. Cheers! I will in fact be rolling a whole new toon as I can't afford the transfer and I've found myself drawn to the Au ra race since I first saw them. Hey there, I have a lil' query for you. I just got back into FFXIV and I'm loving it, problem is I'm loving it over on the EU Moogle server at the moment however I'm more than willing to change, what that means is I'll be starting from scratch. I mention this because my work schedule for the next 4 weeks means I have only like an hour or two to play per day which means I'll be stuck at the low levels for a while. As a result of that I don't even know much of the story of FFXIV and I think it might be best if I come on over to Balmung and level up a bit and get to know more about the storyline before actually RPing. Would one be able to apply to join despite all this in order to join at a future date perhaps? Or should I just level and stuff first then apply later?

I would suggest just playing what appeals to you but SE did do a census for 2014 with a breakdown of race, gender, etc popularity if that helps you choose at all. Yeah, I've actually seen that census already, though I decided after talking to a friend of mine to go with that new race as one of their clans is pretty isolationist and would be the perfect reason why i may not know a while lot about the world and setting as well as it just being interesting playing a character who may be meeting a member of a other race for the first time

I do believe I'll have to pop over and make a character on Balmung soon, I intend to keep my character on the EU servers though for general game play and stuff as I've found a very friendly FC and I couldn't bare to just leave it. Now the hard part commences, deciding on a Race / Job combo for role play! Personally when it comes to choosing the race/class combo for RP I tend to pick the least role played race with the least played class as I find it adds a bit of variety to RP rather than everyone being say a Human Paladin. Maybe a Lalafell or Roegadyn ... I imagine there's loads of Hyurs and Miqo'tes as it is.

To keep things as short and sweet as I can, basically I just started playing FFXIV again for the first time since launch and at the moment I'm playing on the Moogle EU server however there is no RP there as far as I can tell. I tried finding an old website that was around during launch specifically for EU RPers and found the site had been taken down so that got me wondering if people just stopped RPing or did they move to the NA servers? So basically, are there many EU players RPing over on the NA servers? I ask 'cause I don't wanna end up playing on a server where the time difference makes RP incredibly awkard unless there's at least a few others in the same boat asme E.G. me having to go to bed when it's the middle of the afternoon for you lot. I'd go and check it out for myself but as I'm still pretty new to the game (I never got far at launch, like level 12 at most) I reckon it'll be easier and faster to ask here.

I suppose I had best get my backside onto the server then, i`ve been trying out an EU server so far and to be honest, I`ve seen no RP at all so far, probobly better of giving this a try!

Hi there, if i`m not mistaken therre are alot of us EU players thinking of playing on Balmung, (I for one am from jolly old britain) theres even a linkshell for it though I`m afraid I forget the link, Europa-OOC I think its called, anywho welcome

Maybe lalafell, maybe not lalafell, unlike others who seem to be able to pick character races easily I struggle quite abit Although the irony of being a lalafell gladiator is almost too good to miss up, such a small guy able to go toe to toe with things 10x his height is cool, adorable and hilarious all rolled into one.

Basicly what Katattax wrote, I personally still dont know which will have the stronger EU community, Balmung, Odin or Moogle. If only Square Enix made designated RP servers, would save us all ALOT of headaches I imagine

As I said I would, three more suggestions even if they arent that good: The Eorzean Free Company Alliance - T.E.F.C.A. Underground Research And Defense - U.R.A.D. The Eorzean Discovery and Protection Ops - T.E.D.A.P.O And just for the sake of it one more: Modern Research, Serve and Defend Operations- M.R. S.A.D Operations The last one I think is kinda cool, I mean nobody would have any idea what your talking about if you referred to your alliance as "Mr sad" in conversation so you could keep it secret if you didnt particulerly want it to become common knowledge, they may assume your talking about a charity or something! Though I still like my earlier idea of D.A.R.C. better

I myself wont begin RPing untill I reach the level cap with at least one character so I have played through most of the game, or at least enough so I know enough lore from quests to feel comfortable. That and I find it will be easier being a max level to RP in exotic locations where mobs could be an issue. Also it opens up alot more armour options for RP
