  1. I fight the urge to renew my FFXI sub every day. Usually when I listen to the soundtrack. A few days back I heard a piece of irish music which really sounded like Selbina, and I got sad. I always get sad when I listen to the music. Hell, listening to ffradio last week made me sad when the tune to Sky come on, and I hated Sky. All the constant running back and forth, which entrance is that? How many people do we have? Who has the pop items? Any JP? Etc, etc. Countless hours stood in my MH, just RPing over the LS... /sigh.
  2. EU, UK. GMT, but currently in British Summertime(BST! /charm ), so GMT+1
  3. I've yet to speak to Keir about this, but I hope we'll be able to contribute.
  4. Is it dxd9_41 or something? I had that problem. All you need to do is download the direct X files form microsoft.com. Google the file name. I got 250... Gonna need to upgrade.
  5. I accept this proposal - it is logical, without being limiting, restrictive or oppressive in any way.
  6. My personal definition of Roleplay is; 'Making a conscious, consistent and considered effort to maintain a particular assumed character, through language and/or behaviour.' Being in-character is when you are doing this. By this logic, spontaneous 'just-for-fun' emotes (ie, /e slaps , /e purrs at ., etc) do not count as roleplay unless they are in keeping with the performance of a character/personality that is not inherent to the performer. What differentiates the 'grade' of roleplay is just how considered this role is. A 'casual' Roleplayer (majority of first-time/inexperienced RPers): [*]May assume a spontaneous role/persona with little planning. [*]May have a vague character outline, but not necessarily a motivation for that character's behaviour/goals. [*]May generaly roleplay for fun, and have little investment in their character's relations with others.[/list:u] A 'hardcore/dedicated' Roleplayer: [*] May have one or several long-term characters with set personalities, backgrounds and goals. [*] Will typically have a solid understanding of their character's traits and lifeline, and will typically pay more attention to smaller details about their characters, such as their quirks and habits. [*] Will typically have considered the motivation behind their character's goals and behaviour. [*] May tend to take to roleplay as a long-term creative outlet more than the casual roleplayer. [*] Will have an intimate understanding of the way their character reacts to social stimuli, and how they relate to/form bonds with the characters they interact with. [*] May adapt their characters in response to events which have occurred in roleplay with others.[/list:u] This is all just my opinion, of course, and I hope this isn't taken as deriding casual roleplayers in any way. And to me, there are definately no-RP times/areas - I personally only roleplay when I know I am in a roleplay-friendly environment. Parties/missions with pick up groups are not suitable instances in which to be in-character.
  7. Anyone remember this? #1: #2:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpTaFgpGRGI&feature=related #3: Lightning crystals!
  8. WUT. (I seriously almost wee'd a bit.) Probably needless to say, but all things linked in this post are nsfw. Total Eclipse of the Heart Literal translation; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj-x9ygQEGA Dinosaurs, WTF!? A day in the life of a turret from 'Portal';
  9. The Denali Bonnet bit had me cracking up. Those parody videos never get old. Aaahaha! Bonnet bit got me, too.
  10. I'm keeping quiet faith in SE. This is certainly a bold move, but they've stated that they're going to put careful consideration into camp options post-75. The raised cap does mean a need to re-level your subs an extra 12 levels, as well as possible new subjob options, so we'll also see a much-needed improvement in lower-level activity. I can't imagine SE would let relic/mythic weapons and Salvage gear go obsolete. I suspect we'll be able to upgrade them via drops in Abbysea, not unlike the AF+1 system in Limbus.

    Beta

    Didn't they state that the 11th was the start of the beta test? Did they mean Alpha test? How confusing.
  12. I am refreshing twitter like every F5 earns me a pound!
  13. The only 'core member' of the Templar who was a DRK would have been Langron, and we're talking years back. I don't recall him ever mentioning a server hop, either. I'm fairly sure he just left FFXI. I know Lantrial made a character on Sylph, on Phoenix he played DRG.
  14. Agree entirely, things couldn't be coming together any nicer.
  15. Excellent! The word is spreading! Soon... Soon the entirity of Hydaelyn shall be ours! *Cackle!*
  16. This all sounds reasonable to me, Castiel.
  17. 28 Days Later! It's a teeny bit obscure, I suppose. I don't know if your typical US citizen would have heard of it (heck, so many Brits havn't heard of it, and it's a British film), but zombie fans will love it!
