Basic Info Characters: Chika Ito (main), Carter Perish (alt), Neve Ito (alt) Primary character: Chika Ito Linkshells: Free Wing Society (IC), Verdant Legacy (OOC), Eclipsis (OOC) Primary RP linkshell: Other than Free Wing, I do not have community rp linkshells II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I am a heavy role player now, especially since I have switched to Balmung. Most of my days consist of role play, and I greatly enjoy it. If I am not in a duty, or enlisted to join one, I am always IC. For anyone that sees me, please feel free to randomly role play with me! I will appreciate it, and embrace it! Views on RP combat and injuries: Heh ^^; Well on the topic of injuries....well to put it this way; if Chika was beside me in real life I think she would be slapping me right now. My characters are my punching bags. When I'm upset I take it out on them. I'm perfectly fine with injuries. Just look at Chika's face, and her back! Lots of scars! So injuries are fun because I can put so much detail into the pain and discomfort they are experiencing, and the aftermath of a wound. Just as long as it doesn't kill my character, I'm down. As for role playing out combat. I am fairly new at it, and not as experienced as some. Personally I don't mind if, IF your character isn't god moding, power playing, or meta gaming. If my opponent doesn't dodge every single it, I'm typically fine with it. I will never put my character in a death situation, however. Views on IC romance: Oh I love it! IC romances can be amazing, and add so much personally character development, and depth. I am addicted to it, and the potential that can bring. Chika has a hard time being alone anyway. Though this is another instance where she'd be kicking my rear. Chika's romantic life has been far from perfect. Her wife died, her fiancee disappeared on her, she left her last boyfriend because she has a miscarriage, and blah blah blah. She has a complicated love life, but I think it's wonderful. I'm always up for romantic role play, and the intimate scenes it can bring ^^ Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I like it almost as much as I like romantic role plays. Why? Family freaking drama. Do you realize how much crazy role plays that can bring? If anyone reading this wants to adopt a character from her family (Chika has five brothers, and a sister that aren't being played) or wants to make someone from her extended family or even in her tribe go right ahead. Just private message me first. It'd be fun! But all of that aside my views on it are strong. It's refreshing, and creates a lot of opportunity as well. Views on lore: Uhhhhh....-hides- I'm not that into lore. I have friends who are lore hounds, so I just ask questions to them ^^; Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I would like to be apart of more role playing linkshells so I can branch out from my usual group, and broaden my horizons. His screech pierces the study as the scalding coffee starts to burn his flesh and eyes. The man scrambles backward, and away from me, desperately trying to rub his face clean of the liquid that is burning so horribly. Serves him right. My thoughts are bitter as I see him stumbling backward. His boot catches the rug, the thick fabric bunching up, making him fall onto his back. No longer is my focus on that intruder, for another is coming after my. With my left foot I hook it around the foot rest of the metal bar stool. Flipping it upward nimble hands catch onto the legs. I swing my torso and arms to the right rather quick, aiming to deliver a heavy blow to the side of the attacker's face. Success is rather short lived. My attack lands directly against the right side of his face, and to accompany the blow is the sickening cracking of bones fracturing. Two Hyur men down. Wild red wine irises flick up to the door leading to the kitchen, and the next trespasser is a Roe ducking through the entryway that is too short and small for him. One word travels through my mind. Fuck! I am able to take down others in combat, but not something that is over three times my size, and weight. I toss the stool at him, but one of his arms that are thick with muscles (which I can only assume at first glance are made of marble with how strong they appear to be), deflects it with ease. Knocking it out of his way like some discarded child's door. Offering a nervous smile, and an anxious laugh, I turn and dash to the door leading out into the foyer of the house. Maybe I can escape him some how. No, all the no. As soon as I reach the door I feel a boot clad foot 'lightly' hook around my ankle. That is all it takes to upset my balance, and I can feel the world fall out from beneath my feet. Hitting the floor with a thud my mind isn't on the brief pain that washes over me. Instead I try focusing on escaping. Recovering on my knees, and hands, I try to shove myself upright. He is relentless to punish me apparently. Bending over the man grabs onto the sides of my hip, hoisting me with such ease. My fingernails scrape and scratch at the foyer's rug as I desperately try to anchor myself to the ground. Sadly it is of no use. My heart leaps in my throat as I am thrown aside with little regard. I collide with a wooden table in the center of the foyer. It tips over, and I go with it. If it had not been for that table I might have gone through the plate glass door. An intense ache has started to radiate in my left rib cage, where my body connected with the table. Focusing on a plan of action is difficult for my mind is rather clouded with how hard breathing is. I gasp with each breath I take. It'd been a while since I last had a broken bone, so I have grown sensitive to the raging agony it brings. Fiercely I clutch onto my left side. Feet push viciously at the ground, and I scoot backward on my rear trying to get away from him. As he charges at me, however, I duck and roll to the side. A great crash can be heard from the cozy shop as the Roe plows through the sliding glass door. His screams of pain following soon after.

On the back porch, attached to the small business based out of a cozy home near the sea, a lone figure stands. In the air I can almost taste the static of gathering electricity. Irises composed of red wine stare at the storm clouds that build in the distant horizon. Left fingers curl around the handle of a mug, while right ones clench the front. From the mug steam rises, the vapor twirling into the air. Contently I sips on the black coffee inside of the mug. In the coming winds of the storm ebony tendrils ruffle, and jostle. Velvet lips purse together in a grimace. "More rain..." Words sigh out. Thankfully it is still summer, and brides still need dresses. It should keep me busy for the next few hours until I close up shop. Turning on my heels small, casual, steps bring me inside of the little house. Padding across the room, bare feet pressing against the cool wooden floor, I don't stop my venture until I arrive in the office. Easing myself onto the stool at the draft table I place my mug off to my right. Slipping on spectacles everything appears more clear. Dark ears swivel about my head as sensitive ear drums pick up on the howling of the wind outside. A truly comforting sound to draw to. Bending over the drafting table, lead pencil in hand, the tip glides over the parchment. Drawing elegant lines I start the process of planning a dress for a new customer. My mind ventures off to the grand plans for how I can shape, and mold, the fabric. What materials I could use. Even the pigments. I'm so absorbed in my thoughts I almost do not hear the breaking of glass coming from the kitchen door. Reaching over to take my mug I coolly sit there, calm, and acting oblivious to the fact someone has entered my business uninvited. There are several pairs of boots shifting across the tiled floor, and transitioning onto wood panels. Seriously? This will make the second time. Once before two men tried robbing my shop, endangering my newborn in the process. One of the men I beat his face in so horribly it caved in his skull. His partner in crime wasn't so lucky. In fact in the basement beneath my very feet he had been tortured to death. My statement, my personal flare, of saying if you put my offspring or loved ones in harms way you won't like the consequences that come hand in hand with your actions. I pick up on the breathing behind me. At first I don't move, I just let whoever it is think they have the upper hand. Rather quick I spin around on the stool, and fling the contents of the mug upward, and praying the scalding hot liquid lands in someone's face. Picking up the metal stool I aim to smash it over the head of another, hoping that it is a success.

I'm new to the server ^^ A recent transfer from Gilgamesh. I've been trying to make a foot hold here in the community, and I was wondering if there is anyone out there that would possibly want to get to know Chika.

A lot of my friends do the 'one out of character year = one in character year' with Chika I don't mind this. I can handle realistic aging for her. She'll actually be twenty-eight this January. However when it comes to playing a child, or a teenager, part of me wishes to speed the process up a little for development. That is my personal opinion though ^^

@Sven - I'm glad you enjoyed it ^^ I had fun watching Annie fight @Combo - AW! Well thank you Combo, that is very sweet of you I'm very happy that you enjoyed it, and had a lot of fun. I'll be sure to get Nym to create more riddles maybe for the next one I will most certainly be hosting more events in the future. Starting in October there will be an event hosed by Free Wing Society, and me, once every month until April. I have a lot of ideas for these. (Also Gis is so adorable! I was on a skype call with the judges, and they were cracking up at how dirty she fights. You have an adorable, and amusing Lalafell!) @Aya - It's okay sweetie you are under the weather in real life I wished you could stay longer as well, but don't worry. Welcome to the RPC There is nothing wrong with being a new person, both to games and to role play. It might take a little while to adjust, but like Zhavi stated we have your back! My name is Jojo, but most people just refer to me as Chika. Everything will be all right. I am going to tell you about my experiences with role play on Gilgamesh, and Balmung. Gilgamesh This is where all of my friends (OK a good majority of my friends) and I started at when A Realm Reborn first came out. We wanted a fresh start, and we wrongly assumed because Balmung was a legacy server that the people there wouldn't be open to new players since players from 1.0 would already have a foot hold in the community. So we picked Gilgamesh since that is the 'second' role play server. At the start things were going well. There was a lot of role play out in public, mainly in Limsa, but in the recent months there has been a shift in the role play community on Gilgamesh. Role play in public is slowing down vastly to a trickle, because Gilgamesh is home to the Reddit, and 4chan, players. So role playing in public brought out the trolls. Several of my friends in a role play guild on Gilgamesh noticed the change a while ago, and ended up picking up their entire free company, and transferring to Balmung. I've heard only excellent things of the server since. So it had me thinking about doing a transfer, but I wanted to stay because of my friends on Gilgamesh. For about the past two months role play on there has hit a brick wall that cannot be moved. From what I have seen a fair amount of role playing free companies tend to stick to the housing developments on the game, because they are less likely to encounter trolling there. Balmung As of Tuesday, July 22nd, I switched my main character (Level 50 in several jobs, 50 in all crafts) over to Balmung. I couldn't be more happier with the switch! Mostly every night I have encountered role play out in public. Zhavi mentioned the Quicksand in Ul'dah. That is correct. For my near week of being on this server that is where I have found all of my role play at (save for what is done with the free company I am in). If you take a peak at the community calendar there are a lot of events hosted on Balmung each month. Tavern nights, tournaments, and a lot of other opportunities to get your character out there in the public, and to get established. I can honestly say I've been very busy this week since my switch compared to Gilgamesh where I haven't role played this more (or done anything really) in two months. I have noticed that a lot of people on Balmung are more open, and friendly, and very welcoming. In conclusion I personally enjoy Balmung more than Gilgamesh, but that is my own opinion on it. In no way do I dislike, or am bashing, the role play or people on Gilgamesh. It is just my personal experience with the server that has created what I stated. In the end it is up to you where you go We're always here to help you, though. I hope that maybe my experiences can help keep an open mind on the role playing aspect. I love this thread! ^^ It was very interesting, and fun, to read through and see the characters that others are composed of. So here is mine; In order to get Chika Ito there are several components. Let us begin with her archery skills. She has been training for roughly seventeen years as an Archer. For this we add a pinch of the Green Arrow. She knows how to use her body in close quarter combat. For this we add a splash of Jason Statham from the Transporter series (or any movie where he kicks ass!) She is a tough working mother who busts her rear every day to support her family. For this we add two cups Lynette Scavo from 'Desperate Housewives'! [align=center][/align] Free Wing Society will be hosting a fish fry, and fighting tournament, on August 1st at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Mini-games [align=justify] Raffle - tickets will be handed out at the start of the event. Toward the end three numbers will be picked at random. Depending on what place you get depends on what prize you receive! Treasure hunt - one of the members from Free Wing Society will give people clues where to find 'the treasure'. There will be first, second, and third places for the people who can figure out where the treasure is located. Fishing tournament - A roll system at rollz.org will be used for this. Anyone who wishes to participate will have to enter the room (name of it will be given shortly before the fishing tournament begins). There will be three rounds, and whoever gets the biggest fish for that round will win a gift! [/align] The main event! As stated there will be a fighting tournament, and it is the main attraction of the night. Unlike most role play fights, where rolls determine whether or not your attack will land or defense will succeed, this one will be totally different. We will be using a point system in order to determine the victor of each round. Why you might ask. This system is designed to test you as a writer, and your abilities, and also provide ways of possibly improving your writing if you feel there is room for improvement. It is also a neat way to get some ideas for your own character's fighting style by watching others in action. Bob is a seasoned fighter, and has trained as a paladin for thirty-five years of his life. He's muscular, well built, and very athletic. Joe is built like a rail. Lanky, and thin as well as short. Joe just started pugilist training after being a white mage for all his life. Joe wins mostly all the rolls, and gets a finishing blow on Bob. See that isn't really fair is it? Bob has been a fighter all his life, and was beat by some little man. We want the experience of your character, and how well they fight, to be determined through writing. Question; what will be on the point system? Answer; points will be based on several different factors. Such as; creativity of attacks/defenses, the climate/weather at the time of the spar, the health of your character, the build of your character (are they a built for speed or fighting), whether you did realistic attacks/defenses, taking realistic damage, and played said damage out throughout the fight. Points will be deducted if you power played, godmoded, or meta gamed. Your character cannot dodge or block every single time, and escape without so much as tiny scratch on you. If the judges feel you power played, godmoded, or meta gamed too much throughout the round it will be an automatic loss on your end, and you will be disqualified. Question; who are the judges? Answer; Kagewoe Erasus, Lilithium Altair, and Chika Ito will be the judges for the tournament. Question; what are the prizes? Answer; simple! Lots of gil for the winner, and some for the second and third runner up. Menu [align=justify]Other than the fighting another attraction is the food! I agree with the lessening the duration of sleep, or making sleep resistant gear more effective. There was one match I was asleep the entire time I think PvP is okay with how they have done it, but they could do a little better. Such as monks for example. You would think that bards would be broken since we're range. LAWL nope >( I've been ganged up on by monks, and it isn't fun. Their attacks hit hella hard, and they have the ability to down an opponent in a few seconds if your healer is too busy, or dead. 'Course this could be me whining, and there might not be anything wrong with the class -shrugs-
