  1. I relogged and the server list worked straight off for me. Could have just been a coincidence but I am in now
  2. I can see the JP servers fine, but the NA/EU list is doing nothing. Not sure if i should reload and hope for the best or just wait D: Has anyone with this problem actually gotten in yet?
  3. It's so exciting! The suspense is killing me. ;_; I already pre-ordered and entered my code and everything - It went disturbingly smoothly, so I imagine I'm going to find a lot of issues logging on for the early access. But let's hope for the best - I'll keep an eye on the front page, too
  4. I. Basic Info Characters: Korin Relanah, W'reqa Tia, Valienne Vremaix, Raeth Xura Primary character: Korin Relanah Linkshells: Europa Primary RP linkshell: Europa II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light/Medium. I'm somewhat of a casual RPer in the sense that while I enjoy RP and events and the like, I prefer to take more of a back seat - I like watching events unfold. I'll very, very rarely turn down light RP if you contact me ingame, so don't be afraid to send me a /tell! I've been put off a little with the abundance of cliques on my old RP server so I struggle a to approach people when it isn't pre-arranged - and unfortunately that tends to show with my character. The dilemma is that I feel a bit like I'm invading, and I worry that my RP won't be anywhere near as interesting as the pre-established thing people have going for them...So I'm reluctant to ask OOCly. Despite this, I'm quite friendly OOC! I do enjoy speaking to and RPing with people, I'm just a little bit shy - So please don't be afraid to give me a nudge! Views on RP combat and injuries: I'm a little reluctant to partake in combat RP mostly due to bad experiences in the past - And this time around, most of my characters aren't really combat-orientated. I probably won't be in a combat situation unless we've been RPing a while, and by that point I'll be more comfortable with writing it! Injuries aren't an issue for me - If they happen, they happen. I kind of like the emotional bonding that usually comes with them, too. Views on IC romance: I have no problem with IC romance - As long as there's a firm boundary between IC and OOC. I'll admit I've had some bad experiences here, so I tend not to go out of my way to find a relationship for my characters. It isn't the central focus of my RP. I don't have any issues with ERP, either, so long as people keep it to themselves. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I find that having family ties or childhood relationships and the like can be a nice base for a new character, and can open up new gateways for pre-existing ones - So I'm open to suggestions if people are interested! Views on lore: Right now lore isn't a huge issue on my part. I'm reasonable enough not to overstep any lines - In fact, I think I probably stay way, way from the line...Anything I don't really know about, my character doesn't really know about. Anything I want my character to know IC, I'll probably have looked it up beforehand - Or I'll sneak in a /tell or a message in linkshell, party, some OOC channel just to check before I make an IC mistake. Otherwise? Everything stays in line. People can play with the lore as much as they like, however - I won't judge, and aside from my character thinking they have a few screws loose...I probably won't avoid RPing with people because of a slight difference in opinion. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I'll use them as specified, really. If I'm in an IC situation, /say and /em, /yell are IC. If I'm definitely not anywhere I would be IC, and people are communicating with me OOCly in those channels, then I'll respond OOCly. In a linkshell's case it'd just depend whether the linkshell is an IC or an OOC one - Anything goes! III. Other Info Country: UK Timezone: GMT Contact info: PM me here, ingame whispers on the characters mentioned above...Or just throw me an ask on tumblr. Anything goes!
  5. Definitely going to keep an eye out for you guys ingame, once I actually have it all figured out! I was a little skeptical as I had the impression that Balmung might've been the way to go but spotting this thread has definitely lured me back to Gilgamesh now, I think! I'm looking forwards to seeing this FC around.

    Hello!

Sweet! I can't wait to try it now, it sounds so exciting! @Kheda'ya - It was Veritas I think, and I was called Vinrael there too although I didn't make it far! It's hard to enjoy such a pretty MMO when your PC can't handle it And it sounds like fun! I'd love to RP with you ingame once I get the hang of things - with any luck I should be able to find a USB keyboard somewhere lying around to make ingme chat run a bit smoother, too... Either way, thank you both for the warm welcome <3 It is much appreciated!

    Hello!

Vinrael here! That probably won't be my character name, mind you, I'm still working on that part - I haven't even tried the game yet, but I was recently sold on it after hearing about the cross-platform servers! I'm quite terrible at introductions so I'll just follow the crowd and rant about what seems appropriate! I'm a complete newbie of an EU player planning to roll on Gilgamesh (or so I hope, can I even roll on that server?) and I'm hoping to get a completely fresh start with this game - I don't know anyone yet, and all of the ingame terms are completely bizarre to me as I only just missed the open beta, it seems... ...So I still have a lot to learn. I think. Template, hooo! --MMORPG background, RP experience I've had a reasonable experience with both roleplay and gaming in general - I roleplayed actively for several years on WoW, RIFT, and SWTOR but I've been less active as of late - Mostly due to a lack of interest, unfortunately. I used to be more of an active forum RPer before I moved on to the MMO scene. I also played TERA for a while, to experiment with the possible usage of a PS3 controller on an MMO! It was fun - And that's what lured me in to FFXIV. Please correct me if I'm wrong, it'll shoot me down a little to find that I can't go cross-platform on this and that I'll have to upgrade my PC but it'll mean I won't waste money on the wrong game! <3 --Character ideas/info I haven't a clue! So far I know i'd at least like to RP a Miqo'te - They're just the race that appeals to me the most, aside from the Roegadyn. I've been tossing names and concepts about but I still can't settle on an idea as I tend to work on those as I create and play the character. Again, though, I'm completely new to this! --How did you learn about the coalition? I learned about the coalition after learning about the game - I've had my sights set on the game for a while, but I had no idea it was to be released so soon! While I was researching into EU RP servers I happened to stumble on to this site, and it took me until just now to finally work up the courage to post an introduction... --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I plan on starting out as light/medium - I imagine it'll be awkward to roleplay from the ps3, so i plan on making the switch to PC (at least for RP) when I upgrade - but depending on how well I boot my confidence issues in the face coupled with how well I integrate into the RP community, I could well fall into the heavy category! --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) I'm an art student who recently finished college. Due to personal ranty feelings I didn't move on to uni and I'm hoping to start work soon so I have no idea what my gaming hours will be like - Hopefully they'll fit in here somewhere, though! If all works out then I'll be earning and taking commissions on the side, provided I improve enough in the meantime. And that's about it! Sorry for the wall of text! Overall I'm just hoping to try out something different and meet some new people :3 I'm a little bit nervous to jump in to a new MMO from launch without knowing anyone prior, so I figured the best option would be to just hope for the best and take the plunge. Thanks! <3
