Even if there are common sheild patterns betwen different LS's its not overly hard to figure out who is who. "Hi...you a member of (Insert LS name here} "No...." "Ok sorry :)"

Ok time to direct this thread back on topic DO you think it would be a GOOD idea if we created a thread here to IDENTIFY various RP linkshells by their sheild pattern? Just a thought.

Just a suggestion. Perhaps it would be a good idea to post a thread with Guild names and sheild pattern icons for general information. I would love to acknowledge people from the other RPC shell's but I haven't the foggiest who you are when I pass you. Perpahs a Guild Identification thread?

Pro -The game is Fun. To put it simply. - The Game is engaging. It grabs your interest and holds it. Good story, well put together world. Reaslistic. - Beautiful. Can't state that enough! Detail. From the characters emotions, facial expressions EVERYTHING. They really worked hard ot make this game awesome. - You can Solo, and I like that. - Guild Leves are a nice change. I enjoy them - The game encourages you to be a jack of all trades and that appeals to me. You have to mine to get what you need to smith to build the components to make your armor. Or leatherwork, you really need to take advantage of the many DOW, DOL, DOH and what not. Con - The biggest Con for me is the Square Enix Downloader/updater. It is highly ineffecive. It works Randomly for some people, awesome for a few, and not at all for most. I spent 3 days trying to download the Beta and only for 25% done. 45 min I was able to utorrent it all. When my CE copy came it took 3 hours to ATTEMPT to download the patch and only got 15%. I was able to utorrent EVERYTHING there in 10 min. No question about it, I should be able to depend on the GAME's built in update system. With FFXIV you can't. It fails on an EPIC level and I dare anyone else to argue. - There are a lot of Bugs. The game is only a few days old so these bugs will probally be fixed. I found it hard to get a party going and a few of us had to restart the game. - The market Ward system is sloppy and will leave you Frustrated. It is difficult to FIND what you need by simply checking everyone's bazaar. It's just messy. 1 hour looking and I still couldn't find what I wanted. When I finally DID find it, I had no idea if the price he was asking was fair...since I had NOTHING to compair it to. - The Payment System is sloppy and complicated. Not as bad as some may lead you to believe. But I found it bothersome. Do-able, but bothersome. - There are various little things that you might find bothersome, Leve cooldown time, exp limmit's and such. But thats a matter of opinion. OVER ALL The game is amazing, it's fun, it's beautiful and it's deep. You'll enjoy it. This ain't WoW this is a whole new category of awesome.

Kashemia there is nothing paranoid about not wanting to give your banking or credit card information out over the internet. I understand what you are saying but at the same time I see no fault in my reasoning. In fact if you contact most major credit card companies or financial institutions they will strongly advice you AGAINST doing such. Even with Pay Pal. Now SE has set up for people with the same mind set as myself, a method of payment that does not require your banking or credit card information. I only wish it was a little more intuitive.

I'm clearly gonna switch to the PayPal method. But I'm frustrated with them too. Option 1 Give them credit card information and risk the consequences(and there is always a risk) I am a victom of credit card fraud and let me tell you its not fun. Option 2 set up direct withdraw from my bank account and risk consequences. What are they you say? Well getting my bank account drained is one. Not that I ever have much anyhow. But still. I think what my wife and I will end up doing is use the chequing account we never use for pay pal and simply never keep more than the ammount of money we wish to transfer to pay pal in there. I know credit card companies often try to screw you over on your "ballence protection" if they find out you gave your card information out to an online service like Pay Pal or ClickandBuy. After speaking with my bank, they recomended AGAINST setting up a direct transfer with Pay-Pal. SOOOO yea...I hate you squeenix...I really do.

nonono I payed once I paid 20bucks for a $20 Ultimate Game Card logged onto the site and used it to buy 1000 crysta and then the remaining ballance(which was like $9 and change) are converted into points. I use those POINTS to buy 500 MORE crysta. I am left with under 500 points and unable to purchase anymore crysta until I add more points. BLARG

I choose to go the Crysta method. Since I LOATH giving my credit card information out over the internet, I decided to use the "Ultimate Game Card" method. It seemed simple enough to me. 1) buy Ultimate Game Card 2) use it to Buy Crysta 3) WRONG! Ultimate Game Cards only come in denominations of $20. I need 1599 Crysta per month to play(999 for basic service 300 for each of my 2 character slots activated) 2000 Crysta cost $20 with BLOODY TAX! Putting it a buck and change over the $20 the card is worth. (aka 2000 points) un used currency on a card you use are converted to points. SO 1) Buy Ultimate Game Card 2) Buy 1000 Crysta for 10 dollars, now have 848(or something) points on UltimatePay account! 3) Buy 500 Crysta for 500 points Now have 348 Ultimate points.. 4) SHOVE points up ass since 348 points wont buy any more points! 5) BUT ANOTHER Ultimate Game Card 6) Buy remaining Crysta 7) EFF YOU SQUEENIX! REALLY that buck and change REALLY EFFED ME OVER! Is it too much to antisipate TAX you bloody fools? Is a 25 dollar Ultimate Game card to much to ask? I hate you Squeenix...I really do...

Just managed to get some play time in the Beta yesterday and today. I must say all if not MOST of my fears and worries have been put to rest. I am really enjoying the game. It's beautiful, it's intuitive and its fun. No complaints from me really.

I have to admit, I am a little worried. For now I will content myself with the information that YES this is the BETA and they have some time before game release...but...really...not that much. I'm worried. I want this game to be epic, awesome and first class. I bought a brand-spanking new computer just to play this game. My wife and I went all out pulled no stops. I have heard a lot of negative reviews so far, and I've also been doing a lot of reading on the game and such. My biggest fear is that this will just be a more upscailed version of FFXI...and that would make me sad. I'm also frustrated with the Beta, but this is after all the first Beta I've ever even tried to get into. Maybe its normal to have to wait DAYS to get a key, and then DAYS YET to download the file from a rediciliously non functional downloader. Who knows? Maybe this is how "beta's" work? Probally not. Anyhow. I will keep my fingers crossed...at LEAST until I can play it myself. As it stands I am silently waiting for the game to finish updating. That whomping 4 fucken gig file is a killer even on Utorrent....

So with my Radeon 5850 I ended up with a score of 4807 on low res mode. 17845 ms. need a better moniter for high res mode, my tiny lil moniter couldn't even show me what score it got.

Not an easy task casting a Roegadyn by looks alone really. If we are going to go by personality I'm gonna stick with this big hulking sac of Mus-kles! Put some red skin on him and you got yourself a Hellsguard! For Azreiel? Well A Few come to Mind, But really there is only ONE person who could ever play Azreiel EVER. Yea, see I am hoping the Super Powers go beyond Mini Super Man Clones. Like Can I be a Green Lantern? Can I have powers like the Atom? Or Giganta? Will I be able to be a power-less hero and rely on my wits, smarts and gadgets like batman? Will I be able to choose between a slew of different powers? Or will it be limited to super strength, speed and some sort of fire/ice/lightening ability. Also, Im not supprised not many are interested in Dragon Ball Online. IT DOES appear to be an awesome universe for RP and story telling, speically since they trashed the Anime and GT and such and are basing it STRICTLY off the Manga. It holds promise.

I am just curious as to which other MMO's (or future in development MMO's) have cought your interests as possible competition for FFXIV. I was looking at the DC Universe Online Trailer, as well as the Dragon Ball Online Trailer, and they both look like they are games I would enjoy. With out resorting to trolling, which games are YOU interested in if FFXIV doesn't work out for you? There are MANY to choose from.

I like reading the constructive critisism. I am not worried about what the Masses think really. In general the Gaming community is never pleased. You could give them gold on a stick and they'd complain about the stick.

She kept to herself, only breifly nodding or sending a look here and there when spoken to both by the strange fish smelling man, and the bar keep. Her ears kept attuned to the conversations going on around her however. The seemingly shady dealings with the curious Elezen, and of course what spiked her attention the most. The mention of wanted posters. Her lips scrunched and her eyes narrowed for a moment. So this one was wanted, it didn't matter where really. Her mind flashed to ideas such as collecting bountys or perhaps blackmail...surly there was some way she could profit from this? If Sassaroth was wanted BADLY ENOUGH...it could be well within her interests to keep an eye open for the right moment. But for now she would just enjoy her drink, and perhaps mull over the possability. With a quick shake of her head she brought herself back to the moment. Drinking her ale much slower now, as she peered around with interest now.

In her younger days she would have been an easy target for such a tactic. Azreiel and anger went side by side, and still do, after all you can not teach an old dog new tricks? Or so the saying goes. Bar fights, minor scraps and bloody encounters were all to familiar. Some of them were for pride's sake, others to defend what was hers, sometimes it was for a friend, but all to often it was because her temper had gotten the better of her. But she didn't engage in those sorts of actions much anymore, MUCH being the key word. Oh, this old bat still packed quite a punch, but also, there was wisdom now. After all she appeared to be just another aged old crone with nothing useful to say, and that image fit just fine with her, she got into less trouble when people thought that.
